As they fought tooth and nail a strange sound was heard. Everyone looked to see the vault doors *opening.* Suddenly the fighting died down before coming to a hault. As the chapter master got on the vox demanding to know what was happening. Only to be till that security was overriding them. And that the door was unlocked and open from the inside. Suddenly the doors stopped and a single watcher walked out. It walked up the Azrael the Belakor and finally Vashtor. Then walked back into the vaults with the doors sealed and locked behind him. None dare move because the forces of Chaos could sense this small creature for what it truly was and dared not challenge it. And the Astartes would never dream of messing with the little guys in f Caliban. The three it addressed looked down at the piece of paper they each were given. “Let’s take this outside, Vashtor” Belakor said. Vashtor nodded and the two left. Their messages being thrown away as the turned and left. A chaos Astarte picked it up. “What is it?” Asked on of the Fallen. The message was read aloud. “WOULD YOU KEEP IT DOWN, I’M TRYING TO SLEEP?!” The traitor stated. “Signed the Lion.” Everyone present was sent into a state of shock. “Wait there’s more” he said. “P.S. if you don’t keep it down I’m coming out to have words with you myself.” At that Cypher and Luther decided to take their leave.
As a Dark Angels fan I really hope that when they do Lion and DA episodes Bricky reads the Lion's "Lord of the First" and "trials of Azrael" cause while saying "they're like the Spanish inquisition" isn't inaccurate it's just kind of sucks. That aspect is the aspect of the DA I've seen other DA fans the least comfortable with. They're so much more than that and both "Lord of the First" and "trials of Azrael" show that perfectly in my opinion. Asmodai should not be the face of the Chapter he is essentially a rabbid dog that (were he not so useful) Azrael would have put down long ago. spoiler for the heresy books: I hope that Asmodai says two words to the Lion and immedietly gets the Nemiel treatment
Asmodai would've been better if he wasn't written so poorly, it's the same with most characters in 40k to be honest. (and admittedly I haven't read any of the 40k Dark Angel's books for fear of buying a something I won't like or want.)
@@Hikurangi911 I think its mostly that he was kind of pushed as THE Dark Angels character for a while and it just stuck. So most people just assume that the Dark Angels are all as extreme as Asmodai. I don't hate his character, but thats probably because most of the other Dark Angels cant stand him. Azrael chose sapphon as High Interrogator Chaplain over Asmodai even though Asmodai is better at his job. Specifically because Sapphon isn't as much of a twat.
Wait what's that in the shadows?! IT'S BELAKOR!!!!!! AND HE'S GOT THE STEEL CHAIR!!!! AS THE CHAOS GODS AS MY WITNESS VASHTORR IS BROKEN IN HALF!!!!!!!!!
Perhaps "Vashtorr" is not his only name. Hashut has long been an enigma in the lore, often hypothesized to be a daemon of Khorne, even though that didn't really fit, other than Khorne's affinity for bull horns. It would be interesting if Hashut and Vashtorr are tied together in AoS or Total War: Warhammer III.
@TheYgds Yeah, Hashut being demon of Khorne really doesn't make sense when he gives dwarfs access to his special magic, and Khorne hates magic. Maybe he is sort of a demi-god, just like Vashtorr...
idea for your next poster, sharing a blanket and foxhole with your battlebrother as the enemies of man slowly approach your trench, but you still have a hopeful smile on your faces
I like that GW clearly isn’t just going “huhuh hey look guys it’s another chaos god! You like those right? Ok give us more money now.” Vashtorr is actually a very dynamic character, and I like that he is having this interesting conflict with other less powerful chaos entities. Anything that expands the weirdness of chaos magic and warp beings beyond just the main 4 is good in my books.
I genuinely cannot wait for Vashtorr to breach the rock a second time, make it to the door and open it, only for an armored hand to grab him by the horns, and LAUNCH him into the far wall, as the iron-beast-clad lord of his domain marches forward, brandishing a glorious blade, and pondering on killing the demon first, or every sickening, traitorous blackguard standing between them. I can only think of it like this: Guilliman was determined, but focused when he came back. The Lion lives for the hunt, and prey now stalks the den. >:)
6:28 Well DK you ask and Reddit has already answered. All it takes is for you to peruse the works of an artist named Archon_of_Flesh to see Skitarii "unmade"
If i recall, "The Rock" was the name of the "castle" Lion L Johnson lived in on the planet, which if im not wrong the giant part left of Caliban was where it stood from the beginning so they just rebuilt it and the chunk of the planet into a giant fortress ship.
I honestly thought something like the Belakor thing was actually overdue. Vashtor has been running around with the open intention of overthrowing them and the other factions have been cool with it. Sure the other Gods need Vashtor as their arms dealer but I’ve been waiting for him to get some kind of pushback from them. Belakor showing up to fuck with him sure fits the bill.
From what I've heard, Azrael has retreated before when he was dueling with Kharn the Betrayer. There wasn't any stigma to his retreat then, as far as I'm aware.
One cool thing about be'lakor: he's the coolest legendary demon card in magic:the gathering, and is probably the best card for a demon tribal commander.
I still don't understand why the chaos gods are not only letting Vashtorr do all this, but also give him all these troops and toys when his end goal is to become the fifth chaos god and become direct competition
Give him enough rope to hang himself with. I suspect that they’re giving him enough resources to severely fuck up the Imperium then do a rugpull at the last minute. Or, possibly, they’re doing it for the lulz.
Wouldn't surprise me if it's revealed that Be'Lakor got some "assistance" from one or more of the big four. Especially since it took an AI to find the Rock for Vashtorr in the first place, how did Be'Lakor know where and when to show up to ruin Vashtorr's day?
The chaos gods have no power over vashtor and they have nothing to do with him. Remember he’s trying to rival them. Everything he does and the demons he summons are from his own power and being

But GW either picks people who don't do shit, don't let the people do the shit they want to do, or just don't pick anyone worth while.
In regards to that last conversation before the end, one thing to say.
NFastarTes
That is all.
Vashtorr really be doing the Chaos domination any% speedrun
All hail Swolecor but Vashtorr the illuminator shall shine the light
The Lion has Awakened!
"HERE COMES BELAKOR WITH THE STEEL CHAIR!!!!!!!"
"fuck it, it's human enough"
- A Very Wise Man
Belakor gonna do em dirty with a steel chair
Ngl now I want a Vashtor v Belakor subplot the two of them becoming rivals could be great.
Asmodai should not be the face of the Chapter he is essentially a rabbid dog that (were he not so useful) Azrael would have put down long ago.
spoiler for the heresy books:
I hope that Asmodai says two words to the Lion and immedietly gets the Nemiel treatment
I was honestly expecting the lion to emerge ither through the portal or burst through thr gate instead of belikor showing up
I would love a warhammer fantasy episode especially skaven
if vashtorr is having such trouble with a bit of shadow all he needs is some gaurdsmen with their flashlights.
Wait what's that in the shadows?! IT'S BELAKOR!!!!!! AND HE'S GOT THE STEEL CHAIR!!!! AS THE CHAOS GODS AS MY WITNESS VASHTORR IS BROKEN IN HALF!!!!!!!!!
I find Vashtor whole shtick very similar to newly announced Chaos Dvarves from Warhammer III. It feels very close tbh
I love the thumbnail with Be'lakor holding the folding chair
Reasons why Folding Chair > Gaming Chair #1
The only reason there are no Dark Mechanicum minis with Vashtorr at the helm, is the resemblance to mtg phyrexians.
Be'lakor Rock blocked Vashtorr
And the gods are watching and laughing.
“…BY GODS! ITS BELAKOR WITH A STEEL CHAIR!!!”
Agris, Agris, Agris. Good lord DK AEGIS.
Belakor is still seething over losing to a single dwarf
idea for your next poster, sharing a blanket and foxhole with your battlebrother as the enemies of man slowly approach your trench, but you still have a hopeful smile on your faces
IIRC when Caliban exploded, only the fortress monastery of the Dark Angels survived due to its insanely powerful void shields.
I so hope, that they make a book club on Assasinorum: Kingmaker from Robert Rath. That book is a gem just like the Infinite and the Divine.
"bring lots of flash lights to fight belakor" Imperial Guard: Someone Called?
I like that GW clearly isn’t just going “huhuh hey look guys it’s another chaos god! You like those right? Ok give us more money now.”
Vashtorr is actually a very dynamic character, and I like that he is having this interesting conflict with other less powerful chaos entities.
At 6:30 dk just imagine what scarlet witch did to Mr fantastic in multiverse of madness. GOATED visuals for "unmaking" somebody
Did anyone else see that they literally announced the lions return like 3 hours ago. This vid is perfectly timed
Man oh man I can't wait for you guys to cover the Lion and the Dark Angels
18:13 Honesty when I read that story I expected Cypher to just magically pop into the scene on the rock, out of nowhere.
Vashtor and the Iorn warriors a match made in heaven.
From what I've heard, Azrael has retreated before when he was dueling with Kharn the Betrayer. There wasn't any stigma to his retreat then, as far as I'm aware.
it's more about people getting mad their main guy not being invincible 24/7 I guess
'Just bring a light" Guard intensifies.
One cool thing about be'lakor: he's the coolest legendary demon card in magic:the gathering, and is probably the best card for a demon tribal commander.
The LION has Returned
Lion: The Smurfs saved your assess.
Azreal. Somebody gonna get hurt real bad tonight.
What a coincidence that this episode aired the day the Lion woke up!
I still don't understand why the chaos gods are not only letting Vashtorr do all this, but also give him all these troops and toys when his end goal is to become the fifth chaos god and become direct competition
For the lolz.
Give him enough rope to hang himself with.
I suspect that they’re giving him enough resources to severely fuck up the Imperium then do a rugpull at the last minute.
Or, possibly, they’re doing it for the lulz.
For the same reasons the Imperium lets the AdMech do all of it's shenanigans
Wouldn't surprise me if it's revealed that Be'Lakor got some "assistance" from one or more of the big four. Especially since it took an AI to find the Rock for Vashtorr in the first place, how did Be'Lakor know where and when to show up to ruin Vashtorr's day?
The chaos gods have no power over vashtor and they have nothing to do with him. Remember he’s trying to rival them. Everything he does and the demons he summons are from his own power and being
Dark Angels fan boy here, not upset that the took advantage of that situation! We are playing a home game, if we know we can regroup, gather our toys, and strike where we know we can, we will!
Well, it happened. Book 5 was announced: its Lion and he is getting a sick model
What we learned today = DK doesn't know how shadows work and demon phonecalls are fucking horrific
Had an idea talking last week with my brother how disappointing Wildhearts was. When we gonna get a 40k Monster Hunter style game? Go to Catachin, play as a soldier, use melee weapons. It has monsters already.
I'm working through the HH and coming back to relisten to this for a bit of a break. I got all excited since I know what the Auric Myriad is now.
Vashtor does some warp stuff to a ship, Dk: Wow that's so cool!!! OmG!
Be'lakor steals an entire planet and corrupts a knight house, Dk: .....
I cannot wait for them to talk about Lion’s return.
Can't wait to see the AdRic video on the return of the Lion
be'lakor gets mad someone else actually works towards a goal instead of being mad he wasn't given it
*sees vashtorr actually getting shit done*
belakor: he can't do that, shoot him or something
I'm a simple fungus, I see AdRic, I click play
Be'lakor? More like BASED'lakor, the Dark Master
(Its great seeing some of his Fantasy swagger drip into 40k, beautiful)
19:05
Its probably like if you revesed the animation of building something in a lego game.
DK- "Do we know who the artist that drew all this awesome art is?"
Bricky, in his head- "Better not tell'em, it'd just make him sad."
Vashtor: This construct annoys me
**Casually fully disassembles entire storm bird mid flight with a flick of his wrist**
29:25 retreating is absolute a dark angles thing if they get word of fallen.
41:20 I shouldn’t laugh at this but I can’t stop, I need help
The fact the are making Be'lakor relevant again is fucking amazing
Honestly, I almost feel like you needed a Dork Angels episode before this one to explain some things to DK.
