I thought I did something to change the original bars and couldn’t figure out how to get them back. Good thing we have UA-cam experts such as you to help us out.
Thank you for your reply and this video. It explained a lot. I guess I missed the initial video on the new changes from Cricut.
What would I do without you Angie?!?! Thanks for learning all this stuff and sharing it without the faff! My wee fave....
Helpful to see the changes in DS. Thanks.
I’m a keyboard person too. I think it would be useful for others to know that you can hit ctrl + x = cut, ctrl + v = paste, right click to duplicate, delete, cut, paste, group, ungroup and do much more.
can you like a eg have words like auntie going down the screen instead of across
They just released a bunch of new keyboard shortcuts so I think I will do a video!
Thanks for this! Holding the shift button was a new tip for me. Really appreciate your time and effort with this helpful video
I learned about the "welding" with the kerning feature when kerning first came out. I forget who did a video about it though, so it has been around for a while now. It has been my experience that even the system fonts are welding when using the kerning feature. I do miss the boxes that had the delete and unlock feature, but am getting used to using other ways to do those. Thanks for all you do Angie! Hugs, Brenda
Yep I noticed it a while ago but didn't mention it in my kerning video or didn't notice it then maybe.
TY Angie! I knew about corners of the box to change but didn’t know about the text box! TY for keeping me updated!
Thanks Angie, you cleared up the question I had about the text wrap.
Wish you did more with a iPad for us user. I don’t have a computer, Thank you so much 😊.
If I had more of me, I would do more videos! Seriously I try to do as much as I can.
Great info. I don't know how new this feature is, but I attempted to make a greeting card and learned about the card mat. I don't know tips for using this feature but would be interested in seeing a video.

It's gonna take me awhile to do all the things I use to do 😂😂😂 we also need a eraser tool on our icon in case we want to clean ? We didn't realize when we cleaned it the first time instead of grabbing a shape to remove a spot lol thank u great video
Thank you for so clearly demonstrating some of the new CDS up dates!
As always thank you! Amazing video and instructions. Thank you Angie!
Excellent video - so many have left off using the keyboard delete button and how to resize beyond in and out
Excellent information!! As always!!
Once again Angie, a great video. East to follow, easy to understand.
Thank you for this info!!
Thank you for the update! Very helpful as always!
Thanks
Thank you for this video! I didn't know how to use the wrap feature. I noticed something after the update on Design Space: When I add a file, SVG that I uploaded before the image would be locked and we had to unlock it manually, now, is unlocked by default, so if you are going to change the size and want to keep the proportions, you have to lock it first, and then resize. I thought it was just me, but I heard another UA-cam channel creator mention the same thing.
Love your videos!
Awesome tutorial, I really needed this. Thanks
the script text not needing welding... has been awhile for a bit. Cause there is a kerning feature that was added a few months ago. If you take a text that isn't kerned then you will have to weld the script text. I do keyboard short cuts for some things. Problem is for me remembering all the different key strokes so I use it for cut, copy, paste cause those are ingrained in my head over the years lol
Thank you, Angie, I don't like it when there are new updates. Do you know if you have to have Cricut access to know about the new changes and how to use them? ;)
No one really knows when there will be an update. They now have a "what's new" area in Design Space where you can see what has changed.
I get the way to do it I just don’t understand why the space around the text would be needed please tell me what I’m missing TIA!!! Love your videos quick and simple no over explaining
I think it would be helpful if you are designing something and want extra space around the text. It would give you a visual for making the rest of your design.
Great video!
Hi Angie. One thing you didn't cover is how to warp or distort text. Do you know how to do this using the new version of Cricut Design Space?
Can you please do a tutorial on design space step by step. I especially need to know how to get my design ready to be cut on my cricut maker 3. I'm getting so frustrated that I get to a certain point and that's it I'm stuck. It's a design for my libby cup. I sent you an email today showing you exactly what the design is. Thank you in advance for your help.

Thanks for explaining these new features. I have a question that is unrelated to the features. When I open one of my projects that I want to make again, but also want to add another project onto the canvas at the same time, it always states do I want to save or replace. I don’t want to do either. Is it possible to add other images or saved projects to the canvas somehow? Thank you for your help.
Thanks for keeping us updated. When Cricut welds the script for you can you change it after it has been saved or is it now unchangable? Thanks Angie
You can change it! They are not "welding" it in a traditional way which means that it is still just text!
Hi Angie...thanks again for a great video (I always learn something new with you)...I was just wondering if you've had to deal with a very small/tiny piece of text...I was trying to add an apostrophe to something the other day, and I could not for the life of me get it to line up because the box is now so tiny that it will only enlarge the area...if that makes sense.
I have not had that issue yet but I can see where that would be a problem. Maybe zoom way in?
Hi Angje, helpful video. Do you know what changes were made to the slice function? I was working on a project and wanted to slice the image and when i selected the images the slice button is gray out.
It’s not a new feature but the one I want I can’t use … if I’ve already text and resized I can’t move the letters closer together? I’ve tried double click but can only resize or change the font after clicking…
It is working for me? Are you using the letter spacing at the top of the screen?
Angie, What is happening to my individual letters? I want to cut individual letters HAPPY HALLOWEEN and I have this big bounding box around each letter and when i go to resize it it just keeps moving all over the place. Can you do a short video on resizing individual letters? This text update is more of a headache now
I need a tutorial on curving text and offset but on an iPad I don’t have a computer
I’ve noticed a very irritating issue with the changes. I make faux leather earrings and have to create earring holes that are .075” and then I can’t move them around the screen on DS without them being resized larger. I’ve tried using the keyboard arrows, which does work but takes forever, but I can’t grab them to move them the old way. Suggestions?
How do you wrap around text around a heart?
Cricut Design Space does not have the ability to put text on a path like this.
The only thing about scaling a box with rounded corners that they also change. They’re becoming quite weird.
Hi my my update goes crazy when I put a image on mat I go to move it and it duplicates it every time I touch it then I gotta keep deleting the Xtra images
Does anyone find the new design screen very hard to work with.
How can I do text wrap in the shape of a heart?
@@AngieHolden
thanks for your reply. After trying to fill with this for two days, I finally conceded did find a bit of a workaround, but it’s fiddely.
Thank you! I did not know you could turn off text wrap in the alignment drop down. I just watched the Cricut Basics on cursive text where you have to weld the text. I'm glad I watched this and now know that you no longer need to do that. One less step is always good in my book!
