@@margotdourand2507 So much wrong with your comment. First: Heino isn't blind at all. Second: He suffers from Morbus Basedow (graves disease) which is NOT an eye disease, but leads to eye bulging. Which looks quite frightening for a little kid. . Third: Really? Are you blaming a litte 3 or 4 year old kid for being prejudice? Many kids get scared, when total strangers hold them. Guess these bigoted kids just don't see the inside, or what?
I live in Australia, I was born here in 1971, but my dad was born in Bad kreuznach in 1932. He bought your music to me. My youth, through the 70's, 80's, and 90's always included your music, amongst Bruce Springsteen. God Bless you Heino, you keep the memory of my father true and real. PS he's still alive , and pumping out your tunes at 86yo !! Long live Heino !! A true legend here in Australia. Please visit within the next three years !!
Danke Dir herzlich.
I bought my first Heino record at a thrift shop, I had never heard of him before, but when I saw the picture on the record cover I thought “This has gotta be good” And it was. ❤️
Grew up listening to his music. My parents are German born and raised...we had them all: Heino, Freddy Quinn, Die Flippers, und zu viele mehr...Lang Leb' Heino! Long Live the Prince of Germany!
Love the music! Wunderbar. How wonderful that he only sang German songs. That's why he is now considered a 'nationalist'. He is simply proud of his German history, as he should be.
My father was a prominent D.J. in the Cincinnati Ohio German community 1975-2011 ,He and his audience LOVED Heino. I may have been named after 'Schwartze Barbara". I love his taking the parodies in stride and in German humor.
I love what Heino has done for German folk music. For decades, it was side-lined and revered as some sort of holy relic . Heino, just like the Dubliners in Ireland, has succeeded in reviving this art-form and has given it back to the people. He is a national treasure.
I was always fascinated (and franly somewhat amused) by the audiences that sat on these shows. Just clapping their hands and staring at whatever it was they were staring at. Somehow the word "gemütlichkeit" never sprang to my mind on those occasions. This just might be a very German thing that outsiders can't fathom. I've talked to Germans about this, who acknowledged my feelings about this in hindsight, but had never thought about it in that way. But then again they were never really into this form of amusement in the first place and didn't even bother to imagine what it all might be about. Which is also very German.....
I have a photo of me with my German girlfriend and i'm wearing a tight turtleneck (green i remember) under an open shirt, that was 1967. Her sister later featured on tho RAF wanted posters in the early 70s, those were the days. I was more of a Udo Jurgens fan.
Know how I ended up here? I'm very blond and wear black sunglasses because the Florida sun's brutal. There was a German couple in a local Aldi, they must have been in their sixties or early seventies. She took one look at me and said "vas Heino!" and her husband started laughing.I got home and Googled Heino .I can think of much worse things to be called as an American nowadays.Besides,Jello Biafra was cognizant of him.
Hey oldweirdeyes, I love your work! I'm the biggest Heino fan next to you. Would love to see your show if I make it out to L.A. Keep up the good work! Much love from Colorado
I knew who Heino was back in pre-Internet times (1978), growing up in the town of Kamloops, British Columbia, and buying imported copies of his albums at the record stores. I have no idea who that complaining petulant wannabe punk rocker is, even after having watched him sulk about Heino for the past 58 minutes.
I appreciate Heino. I don't necessarily ever seek Heino out, but when he enters my life unexpectedly (and it's almost always unexpected), I enjoy it. Danke!
What is the German folk song playing at the very end of the video, during the credits, after the needle on the record player is pushed ahead? It's the only song on this documentary I recognize but I don't know traditional German songs well enough---how about a list of songs in the video?
Love him!
funny though i do not know the - dead Kennedys -, Jello Biafra, who gave him this Name? neither that American Heino impersonator. why does he have to hide his face and voice and even his name is pixelled out? and i think the title of the clip here is only click bait.
Fascinating well done documentary. But I dunno...hearing full throated renditions of German folk songs make me as comfortable as a black man hearing banjo music.
In my opinion, the people of Germany should be proud of Heino.--TT (Czech Repub.)
+Tim Teuber and his bleached hair.
it is not bleached. there are still people around who are natural blond...
Albino. Hence the glasses. Let's not hold that against him, shall we?
Oh thats nice. You may keep the sudetenland
@tim teuber we are proud of him,... Some of us
Isn’t it strange that nobody in this video mentioned Heino’s great voice? I love his voice.
when I lived in Germany in the 80s, everyone listened to Heino. Best party/drinking music ever.
heard his songs all my life. Heino is legend in Germany.
"If you know Heino, you're cool." I just discovered him so I guess I'm cool :D
Legit the best German singer (Franzl Lang is pretty good too tho)
the kind of German who does not like Heino is the kind who is afraid of his own shadow.
Exactly!
Heino Ist Fantastisch. Einer meiner absoluten Favoriten.
Vielen Dank Fur den Upload.
When I was a little kid, my parents visited a Heino concert. He carried me in his arms and I was so scared because of his scary eyes.
Isn't that the reason why he wore sunglasses?
@@pancratius602 yea haha
I'm sorry. He had an eye disease until he went fully blind. Unfortunately you only saw the outside. Not the inside

I live in the USA and know Heino one of the worlds best singers ever. Crazy I know, one of my favorite recordings Heino made was is Rosamunda.

I grew up listing to him through my father ....
love this mans voice !!!
I am a huge Rammstein fan !!!!
love that he passed the torch !!!
I bought my first Heino record at a thrift shop, I had never heard of him before, but when I saw the picture on the record cover I thought “This has gotta be good”
And it was. ❤️
I’m a 16 year old in Florida and love Heino
I love the way he trills his rrrrs.
I love Heino from Turkey. I am really sad to miss these wonderful times...
when Heino is on the stage it is HIM. not the smoke machine, fireworks, crotchgrabbing, swearing, nothing of that was ever needed.
true..only him and his voice
Einer der letzten hüter deutscher liedgutes

Wow wow wow, an English documentary about Heino? Nice! This is so cool! Thanks for uploading this! :)
And the impersonator guy is funny too, haha! :D
Love the music! Wunderbar. How wonderful that he only sang German songs. That's why he is now considered a 'nationalist'. He is simply proud of his German history, as he should be.
Heino was my first German music artist!
When I see Heino, I can easily describe him as (in the 70's) "The handsome man with blonde hair, a voice of German Elvis, and wears dark shades!"
Wolfgang Petry was mine, though that was rather different.
I do like Heino!!
Great documentary! I was glued to my monitor the whole time!
and his voice got deeper and more profoundly powerful as he aged.
The video is in germany free again. GEMA and UA-cam agreed about the fees.
For those, who don't know: GEMA is short for GErman MAfia :D
And a good number of us know who that would be... ;) @@11Kralle

My father heard the music as loud as he could and now I love his music. My favorite song is Rosamunde 💕
Excellent doc. I remember first hearing about him in early 60s when I went back to my birth country for a visit.

timeless and nostalgic
Great, but now I don't know how I'll ever be able to listen to Rammstein without also thinking about Heino's voice.
Wunderbar!
(hilarious aswell as interesting docu)

right now he is in Namibia..was last week in south africa in Cape Town and gave a concert there
Allow me to translate for the pretty boy punk rocker..
."Why is iHeino happy and famous and I am miserable and no one likes my music....waaaaaaah"
Spot on , that was one sore loser if there ever was one....
what?

Lol, "The doctor gave me advice to wear some dark glasses" -wears dark glasses forever!
My Mother told me, as a small child, to wear clothes... I still wear it 60 years later... isn't that a riot....
I wished he had ever sung together with Eduard Khil and Tay Zonday but unfortunatly Eduard died a few years ago.
oh some people are so jealous
Heino for president!
un applauso dall'Italia: I like your music wery mutch, grande voce e tanta simpatia, hi, Heino
flash backs to 1970s young British Squaddie in Germany only ABBA was played more (and bonny M)

RAMMSTEIN in the 60 s and 70 s
i love heino but i dont know the language of german what he may be singing i have to guess
Love this
Toll.
The way he recreated himself from umpa to Rammstein was remarkable.
Americans call it Oompah, but that style, Volkslieder, is very traditional in its lyrics and arrangement.
heute singen wir mit heino
Kult. Einfach kultischhh geil DAMKE ;)
Heino ist grosse Klasse, grussie von Holland
Now I finally understand rammstein
22:24 Does that dude at the table look pissed off or what!?!?!
Gefällt mir
Heino is laughing all the way to the bank (I took that line from Liberace--ha, ha)
What's name of song after 30:04 ?
swartzer Barbara beautiful blue eyed black haired girl Barbara
If you are still at Alpine Village. I would like to sing der florian geyer leid mit dich!:)

What is the name of the song that starts at 16:30?
Danke!!!
Heino is so strikingly blond that you cannot forget him.
Where ccountry?
I met his wife and him at Philadelphia German club Cannstatter USA I believe 1984
It's too bad that both Heino and Johnny Halliday are relatively unknown in U. S. A. .
RIP Alpine Village
yeaaaahhh Heino yeaaaahhhh

This is really not able to view in Germany!!! Why?!
Fascinating well done documentary. But I dunno...hearing full throated renditions of German folk songs make me as comfortable as a black man hearing banjo music.
Damn these people are cool
I have a good American Fri from the Czeck Republic. Speaks like Hieno? Wonder why
