This music was composed in 1992 and it has so perfect mixing and combination of instruments that it became timeless. After 30 years also it beats present generation composition. I am an amateur composer but based on my minimal understanding of music, I can say this is an unbeatable masterpiece by A R Rahman.
At the age of 69 she sang this song,how wonderful she is.In an interview she explained that working with Rahman was totally different experience for her because he said the singer that sing the song in a way whatever you like,he gave complete liberty to the singer and started recording the song for the first recordings.In last Antra she took a big Alaap and totally unaware that he recorded it also, this Alaap was mainly taught by her father, so after recording when she heard the song she was totally astonished because he added it also in the song.She said that she also tell his brother to hear this and he too like this song.🙏🙏💖💖☺️☺️
You dont realise the brilliance of Gulzar sahab till you dont know the back story of this song and how masterfully he has played with the words here to accomodate/hide the context. Listen to the song carefully and you will realise that Lyrics actually talks about a bride, who is sharing experience of her first night with her friend. But because gulzar sahab was very well aware that, Lata didi will not sing a song with any crude words in it, he carfted words in such a manner that for the most part, you dont even realise what it is actually about. Listen again the first stanza (1:36) of the song and now try to follow the subtle hints.
It amazes me how times have changed in blink of an eye…i still vividly remember i was in class 7th or 8th when this movie came out. Our school bus driver used to play songs like these from latest movies. Life used to be so simple yet so real back then.

Nani's Travel me too i miss it very much, i adored bolywood movies for their respect to their tradition, but now we can't find anything of this so i stoped watching it, i hope one Day they produce movies like before.
They want to make progress like the west, the best way is through movies, can't blame them really, they are trying their best to get out of third world country status and become a wealthy nation, it might not ultimately be for the best social wise, but at least they are trying to do something. My deepest respect to India.

This music was composed in 1992 and it has so perfect mixing and combination of instruments that it became timeless. After 30 years also it beats present generation composition. I am an amateur composer but based on my minimal understanding of music, I can say this is an unbeatable masterpiece by A R Rahman.
At the age of 69 she sang this song,how wonderful she is.In an interview she explained that working with Rahman was totally different experience for her because he said the singer that sing the song in a way whatever you like,he gave complete liberty to the singer and started recording the song for the first recordings.In last Antra she took a big Alaap and totally unaware that he recorded it also, this Alaap was mainly taught by her father, so after recording when she heard the song she was totally astonished because he added it also in the song.She said that she also tell his brother to hear this and he too like this song.🙏🙏💖💖☺️☺️

You dont realise the brilliance of Gulzar sahab till you dont know the back story of this song and how masterfully he has played with the words here to accomodate/hide the context. Listen to the song carefully and you will realise that Lyrics actually talks about a bride, who is sharing experience of her first night with her friend. But because gulzar sahab was very well aware that, Lata didi will not sing a song with any crude words in it, he carfted words in such a manner that for the most part, you dont even realise what it is actually about. Listen again the first stanza (1:36) of the song and now try to follow the subtle hints.
