I’ve learned to just go with the flow, sometimes the colour falls on the paper differently than what I had it mind making the painting better, less controlled and more realistic. I’ve also learned to not show every painting I make to someone else, I’m still in a learning process and will probably always be so having non-painters comment my work can set me back with too high expectations from others instead of just doing what I enjoy, good or less good work. It’s still art and that’s what matters.
Yes, I have been bombarded by UA-cam videos on watercolour, but I have been painting in watercolour for 64 years, and when I was 7, I had a Reeves watercolour tin. The best way to learn is trial and error, with some luck. Enjoy your mistakes! PS I love your approach to watercolour.
"Focus on what truly matters, your connection to the art and the joy it brings to you". This is my BIGGEST takeaway. Thank you for this timely and potent reminder. 🙏🏽🥰💖✨💖✨💖💐
i too watch a lot of tutorials. then i go back and make the same crap ☺ but the reason i do it again and again is because i love seeing all that colour on a page in some form - you're absolutely right. art is about how you feel. oh and i love that you painted that traditional Indian 'achaar martabaan'! ☺☺
honestly i have seen many videos on art and thought this one would also be same but by just listening to it for 3 sec couldnt stop myself it was like a therapy your voice so peaceful great and couldnt stop myself from seeing this whole video , spoken from your heart and the connection with art line just gave me goosebumps and i was smiling the whole time. great work sir really appreciate it
The joy in your voice truly explains how much you love art😊 I am an art student in 12th and hope that this year will bring me more close to this joy❤ HAPPY NEW YEAR SIR🎉
Watercolours need both a level of study of fine arts as well as constant practice. I'd say it's one of the hardest mediums, though people consider oils to be the hardest. I can make a perfect lifelike painting with oils or acrylics over some time as I have the liberty to let it dry and redo things over it. But in watercolours, every stroke is a catalyst to the final outcome. And if a person thinks a lot during painting with watercolours, it id not going to come well. But if a person who practices daily and his muscle memory guides his strokes, the painting will be satisfactory or even good. People will have to practice a lot with shading pencils to learn values, develop muscle memory, colour mixing to be able to paint well with watercolours.
You’re absolutely right! I would give more weightage on how we experience the process of creating art, that’s bring a real joy as a creator. I know, how difficult it is to be ok whatever we create, but I see that as a real source of our creative fulfilment 👍
@NitinSinghwatercolorpaintings Thank you for your words. I think the fear comes from perfectionist and controlling problem. I don't like that I cannot control it as much as I can with acrylic or oils.

You really got the point here in this video, keep painting and you will find yourself one day ❤️

I am very scared of watercolours and still am.
Oh that’s very sad, watercolor is fun to work with, you just need to hug this medium and keep hugging every day, you know what I mean ❤️
