Cheers for uploading. Aztec and Ocean look every bit as good as I'd expected.

Wow what fantastic videos these are! I still love the crystal maze, even now, and these videos only go to show just how much fun you had. I still love watching your episode even now and just wish i'd been old enough to on the show. Anyway, thanks for sharing these videos and giving an insight to those of us not able to go onto the show :)

This video is awesome, great insight into the show. Always wanted to go on it.
I liked how you guys joked around running round the set. The set looked huge.

Awesome set of videos Dave, Really brings back some great memories. It makes explaining how impressive the set was a lot easier!!!
Its a shame that Wendy and I arent still in our outfits....But I think they finished our close up filming by then, I remember getting up at stupid o'clock to do mine. Cheers mate, Spencer.

Thanks Dave for the uploads. I enjoyed seeing the clips of your time on The Crystal Maze. Greaf Stuff. Your team's show was my favourite show of The Crystal Maze's five year run.

No it was filmed in North Weald Aerodrome in Essex.

Im not sure comparativlely, but it was enourmous as you can see from the Videos, it was in an Aircraft Hangar, and it filled the building, each of the four sets was adjoining as it is in the map, and they were all huge, so it must have been about the size of a couple of pitches overall.

I have to admit, I was dispelled slightly upon sight of the Aztec river and the Medieval castle entrance. The way those two sets weren't enclosed. Just sitting there as a single wall, with the bare hanger surrounding them.

would have loved to have visited the set, unfortunately I was about 14 at the time so perhaps not always intrigued by it how it was built etc and how you got to the crystal dome as it was in the middle but I guess when you were there you found out :)

Thanks again Dave for these great videos. I'm still interested to know how the controls work for crystal voyager. It appears to glide over the floor which is what makes me think the thing was on wheels. No evidence of it working like a Fred Flinstone mobile!!

@BCJ1985 It was the most impressive zone because unlike the other sets it was completely enclosed and completely detailed even in areas that you wouldn't normally see... You could really believe you were in a submerged ocean liner :D

At least you guys had some great laugh doing the the filming of the episode. still 5 measly seconds. though.. i wonder if there would of been a possibility a team could of not gotten any crystals. However. nice you shared the behind the scenes look.

Dave Murphy would be a good candidate for the new CM presenter if he plugs to a TV Station to see if there is an option to make a new series with a new set being that he was actually on the show before.

I am so very impressed with all of your videos. Can I ask Dave, what was it really like filming, and are all of the zones on one level? This is something that has been baffling me since I've been watching the re-runs because contestants appear to go up from medieval to Aztec, and down from Aztec to future, but across from Aztec to Ocean?!? The re-runs are still as good as the first time round, no matter how many times I watch. Anyway, how DID the contestant control "crystal voyager" in ocea

  • @BCJ1985
    @BCJ1985 14 років тому

That looks such a lot of fun. Ocean looked amazing in Series 4 (they messed around with it after that). Was it true that it was the most impressive zone in the flesh?

Allegedly Dave, I'm surprised you agreed to enter into a Globe (albeit not oblate) even with just 5 seconds : mind you, i suspect this was before you were enlightened. A flatter environment would no doubt have brought more rewards? 5 seconds (loaves) could have won the rambling "holiday" and with two fishes thrown in, it could have resulted in hiking boots for all. God be with you.

@dmurphy25 Was always my favourite zone as a viewer, which naturally means series 4 was my favourite series. Not to mention for also including the hilarity at the end of your ep; even Richard O'Brien couldn't keep a straight face. You should have got the prizes for that alone!
