I remember when I was pregnant I didn't have many pregosaurus melt downs but I decided I NEEDED all the nursery furniture matching from mothercare, changing table included. The changer was like £300 alone and I used it less than 5 times 😳🙈 it was just so much more convenient to change her on our bed or downstairs. It was just the biggest waste of money for us ever! Xx
Thanks Emily! It's so nice to have a spoken list from someone who's been there. And also nice to know that I'm not the only one who feels overwhelmed at the choice of all things baby!!
Yayyyyy you fulfilled my request! I'm so happy right now- you're quite the mommy celebrity to me and I look up to you so much. As a first time mom (in October this year) I look forward to being a calm, happy and positive parent like yourself. I am holding on tight to your advice on trying to laugh at times when I may otherwise want to cry! Thank you 😊
I'm due with #2 in Sept and so glad you shared these. Also, why does everything sound so much better in your english, "buggy" is wayyy cuter than "stroller", and "nappy" sure as heck beats "diaper"...or maybe it's just your accent and how it has a way of making everything sound lovely and perfect.💕😂😍
Hi Emily, this is my first time coming across your channel, and I absolutely love your content.I just had a baby 9 days ago and advice from more experienced moms is always welcomed.thanks.
Love this. My baby is 5 months now and i've been watching your videos since I was pregnant and I've learnt so much! Glad I came across your channel. Keep doing what you do beautiful Mumma x
Hi Emily! I am from New Zealand and have just had my first son I also lived in Essex for a while when I travelled so am loving your channel 😘 Can you do a video about what you do when you needed to leave your babies at home for events such as weddings, appointments, alone time lol etc Did you express? Bottle? Babysitter? Matt etc etc So excited to see your channel growing!
Being a first time mum this pregnancy is a little overwhelming. Your videos are amazing and are so helpful and make me feel less of a target for baby shops who insist you buy everything! Thank you so much xxx
Quite a few local areas have sling libraries where you can rent a sling or wrap for a small deposit to try out different styles. That way you can find out what works best for you and your baby before purchasing. I would also recommend looking for hip healthy slings/wraps/carriers. My daughter has DDH so we have to be careful that she is carried in the right position. Xx
There are so many of these big buys that we were able to either borrow from friends and family, or get second hand. It’s great because our house isn’t too big, so we’ll be able to return items once baby grows out of them (it also means we have plenty of money that we can save up for the donor sperm for baby two). My parents gifted us a gorgeous Bugaboo Chameleon, and my wife’s parents helped us get the flooring for the nursery renewed, and some big indoor paintjobs out of the way. Sounds like a weird gift, but it was super helpful, because it meant we could focus on getting the nursery ready, as well as my high-risk pregnancy. A big splurge that we did do (and that all our baby shower guests pitched in for as well) was the starter kit of washable nappy’s! Our baby will have the cutest little bum with all those colourful covers 😊
Thank you for doing this video, it is so helpful! It is very overwhelming with all of the baby stuff out there! sometimes i don't know where to start!!
We were given the Ikea highchair...and almost all of my girlfriends with wee ones have them also. It cleans SO easily, love that it collapses, but my favourite thing is that it is a clean and simple design so it looks nice.....so many reasons to love it!!
when my son was born i installed some LED mood lighting in the nursery to help relax him if he was restless and also relax my wife when feeding ,we bought our buggy on ebay and i agree suprising how many good quality ones you can get next to nothing
Love ur videos emily, I've only been watching ur videos a few weeks and u have inspired me to download the 8fit app and I've started having shakes for breakfast again. Love this video, wish I had known of the car chair with wheels when my son was born. I also bought the sleepy head deluxe and now moved onto the sleepyhead grande. I would say that and my 4 moms mamaroo were my most expensive but fav baby items xx
We bought a new pram with my first and we scratched the frame and handle the first time we got it out the car. We should of gone second hand. lesson learnt xx
Useful video even though I'm done having 👶 - I think. Your choices are practical and essential. The Ikea high chair is such a bargain. I'd never have known. Your dress is very pretty. Where is it from? Have a fab wknd.
Bugaboo chameleon is THE best baby buy we've done! We've used it with our two boys and it will be perfect for a third one😉we have the Bee too but the streets and surfaces where we live aren't very easy to navigate it unfortunately
Hi! I have baby number 3 and I watched your video "newborn must have", after that I see some reviews about this sleepy pillow and I actually bought it 3 days after I delivered! I love it! I find it in Mothercare and we absolutely love it! We also have the same crib as yours, and that was actually from my last baby! We love that is well only because I feel lazy in the night and he is right next to me, make breastfeed really simple!
I don't usually comment but I wanted to say that I love that you've included a stretchy wrap as an essential. As a babywearing mum too it's been a god send and you can get some fab ones for about £25. Can't wait to use a sling with no.2 due soon. Thanks for some great videos
I really love this video. It is the most useful one I've seen. I also love your honest about the cost of a lot of the products and the fact that actually the most practical things don't have to cost a fortune. Xxx
I'm expecting my first baby in just 11 weeks (eek!) and your videos have been a godsend, Emily. I watched all your baby essential videos in the early days and it was really nice watching this one now and being reassured that we now have all the big items that we need :) I also got a Sleepyhead second hand from a lovely local lady. I would definitely recommend that people check out Gumtree/Craigslist as there are some great bargains to be had! Now just can't wait for our baby boy to arrive 💙
Another great video. I really want a sleepy head for our next baby. My son is 6 months old and he wriggles himself to the top of his crib so his head is near enough touching the top. Looking gorgeous as always. xxxx
Hi Emily! Please could you make a video on your olympus camera? Maybe a beginners guide. Im due my little one in just under 3 weeks would love to purchase one shortly after X
Hi Emily, Really enjoy watching your videos! Can you please make a video on travel essentials? I am taking a 4 day trip with my 7 month old and I wanted some tips on what I should take with me. Thanks!
We are also going to be buying the ikea crib 😍 also the sleepyhead as have heard lots of positive things about it! I like that angel monitor thanks for sharing that one. Still choosing a buggy! I just got a baby carrier too the baby bjorn one hopefully it is comfortable.
The video is great and really helpful, thank you. Any chance you can advise whether the angelcare device worked with the sleepyhead? we wanted to get both but weren't sure if they are compatible... thanks :-)
Hi Emily, I've been watching your channel for a little while now and love your no fuss approach. I have been wanting to get a sleepyhead since seeing on your channel and after exhaustive research as no one would ship to Australia and found that they are also sold as 'Dock-a-tot'. On their website it states on the main page that you should not leave your baby unattended in the Product. On the Sleepyhead website it's sold as a cot reducer. Which seems to me that you would use this in your full size cot over night. I really want one but im a bit concerned and wanted to share this with you for your babies safety too.
Such a useful video! I am pregnant with our first baby and we bought a second hand Snuzpod. Loved the idea but it was too expensive for us. We just plan on getting a new mattress. Have you considered doing a video about having a baby "abroad"? I am British but live in Germany. Would love to hear your experience! X
Hi Lucy/Lucya. Totally agree about buying second hand. I have lived in the UK all of my adult life so bizarrely I do not feel like I am abroad but it is a good idea for a video. Thank you so much for watching xx
I refused to buy a chair just for breastfeeding, despite reading everywhere you should get one. As a FTM you ~definitely~ need a chair, so thanks Emily for your advice! I love your chair, but for those who have a tighter budget, the ikea tub chair (think it's £80) is equally good for all bf positions and support x
Great video as always! We loved the swing in the beginning. I would add a baby bathtub or something to bathe the baby in. It was always so nerve wrecking trying to bathe a wiggly and tiny baby...
What 8n the world?! You gave me newborn fever INSTANTLY upon viewing your little one snuggled up in your baby wrap while you were cooking- and I have a 7 month old! I do not need another so soon, lol, but seeing that made me get butterflies in my tummy and a rush of hormones and a happy sigh. Funny how that happens. You have some great products recommended. I was amazed by that carseat with wheels, what a great idea. Next child I am going to get one of those baby beds, I think they go by the brand Dock a Tot here in the USA.
Thanks for the video, Emily. You mentioned you upgraded on the mattress for the crib - where did you purchase the mattress/what did you opt for? Cheers!
Aww we have had our crib for all 3 of my boys going to be sooooo emotional when it's time to get rid of it!!! Ahh agree about the pushchairs there are sooooo many!! great video!
Hi Emily, like you I bought a cheap IKEA cot for my daughter and splashed out on the mattress. However I'm now expecting number 2 and am looking at buying a new mattress. It seems a shame to waste the old mattress as it's still in top condition, and the cover washes. However everyone says you should get another one for new baby. What do you think? I couldn't afford to buy something as good as that now annoyingly! X
honestly i loved this review! i've been so overwhelmed with all these "essential" expensive products. It was nice to see you mixing some expensive products worth the hype alongside some cheaper products.
love your videos Emily as a first time mum i find them so helpful and my little son now 4and a half months loves watching you too :) one thing i will say is you said you have the camera baby monitor i was asking about baby montors for a while as was very much put off the camera ones as people have said to me that people can get into the camera and see whatever it is seeing sorry not meaning to worry you just thought i would share with you what i have heard. again love the videos and thank you for all the advice xx
Thank you for this !! Also, idk who needs to see this but progesterone cream helped with my unexplainable miscarriages! God blessed me with this information so I have to share !🥰 May God bless y’all
Wow I didn't realise the sleepyhead was sooooooo huge! Pregnant with my second and really want one this time - but also need to buy a new cot (my first ruined his!) and a Snuzpod. Does the sleepyhead even fit in the snuzpod??? It looks massive in the cot! Good thing is Snuzpods seem to keep their value - really hard to find a second hand one for much less than new!
There was nothing behind my compliment, lol. Maybe I wasn't using the right Word. English is not my first language and because I'm only human, I make mistakes sometimes!;-)
Buying the Doona along side a stroller will work out more expensive then just buying a good quality iSize car seat and car seat. Also quite often the isofix bases for these car seats will allow the use of a rear facing toddler seat which is essential as rear facing is 5 x safer xx
Hi Emily. I have a tommee tippee monitor similar to your angel care one but was wondering do you put the sensor pad under the cot mattress or directly under the sleepyhead and on top of the mattress?? Thanks x
Hi Holly. I cannot comment on the one you have, as all are different and you should go by the instructions for that. The one we have the pad goes underneath the mattress. Thank you so much for watching xx
I love our angel care. Ours doesn't have a video option though. All our babies like to sleep on their side so for peace of mind we used the angel care :)
Great video, loved the advise about not being too proud. My husbands cousin actually got her buggy from freecycle and we got a very expensive, very comfortable nursing chair from this site as well. It's well worth checking freecycle out for baby stuff. Again great video, I loved it!
great video! My husband and I hope that soon we will get pregnant again and get a second child. Many of the things you showed we did not buy on the first child and they will be on our list. Keep up the good work!
I’m due in a few months with my first and midwives here in Scotland forbid baby nests/sleepy heads as babies can suffocate in them. And they also say babies should never ever sleep on their tummy. And here your son sleeps on his tummy in a sleepy head! I’m so confuuuused😩 Is the advice given different in England?
Emily, loved this video! I have a now 7 week old son and you touched on every item that is essential. I too feel that the Sleepyhead Deluxe (or DockaTot here in the States) is such a good investment. My little one sleeps so well in it and I get to have a good night's rest as well. You simply cannot put a price on quality baby items if they make you and your baby's life better!
Hi Emily thanks for the videos- my baby is 4months now and we're unsure if in a few months we should move onto the sleepyhead grande as it looks huge -is that something you will be buying out of interest? X
Hey Emily, love your videos and your kids are so cute. I melt for Jackson! Are you going to the larger size Sleepyhead for him? I'm really happy with the Deluxe size for my baby girl and am thinking of buying the next size up.
Hi Emily thanks for such a great video perfect timing, as I'm looking to buy a crib/cotbed for my baby as she's soon to grow out of her chicco next to me crib. Spacing is a big issue in my bedroom and we don't have the option of giving baby her own room how bulky would you say this cot is? And also please could you recommend the mattress you bought for your baby. Thank you love your videos always find them so helpful as a first time mum xx
+S KH4N check out the dimensions on the link - maybe you'll need a smaller crib that doesn't become a toddler bed? I bought the most expensive baby mattress from ikea x
Hi. Perhaps check the latest size of the ikea cribs online, as this was bought about 7 years ago, say it may have been adjusted. It's not huge, but big enough to last a few years.Good luck. Thank you so much for watching xx
Emily Norris oh yes true Ill do that. Thank you so much really appreciate the help. And I'm so sorry to repeat myself I've just seen your other reply now. Thanks again xxx
Emily Norris sorry just one more thing I remember in one of your videos you mentioned having a breathable bumper for your baby's cot could you link where it's from? Thank youuuu xxxx
Do you think it's a good idea to buy the doona, use it as your main stroller for the first year and use an umbrella stroller afterwards? (Not buying a travel stroller or something like that)
ive always been curious with the sleepy head pod thingy are they safe could bub roll into the side and suffocate ? or are they breathable ? ive always liked the look of them but SIDS in Australia day not to put anything in the crib not even cot bumpers just to have them flat on their backs in the centre but those look so cosy i can imagine bub would love them !
The Cleland's in America they are called a DockATot. They have passed all the tests to be considered "safe". My son sleeps in one but we but him on his back to sleep. Definitely do your own research.
I wanted the Dock a Tot so bad but I just didn't end up getting one with my first baby. If I ever decide to have another child, that'll be the one thing I splurge on.
Hi Emily, I have one concern about the buggy, It looks risky without a bumper bar and the harness comes loose with just one push. What is your experience? do you feel a difference using a buggy without a bumper bar? Can the baby push the harness button? Thank you for your honest videos. ps.I would really like to hear your view on the difference of using the bugaboo bee and the cameleon.
Xx
Watched this video about 1,5 year ago when I wasn’t pregnant and watching it now again when I am 12 weeks pregnant
Liza Vandamme Congratulations 🎉!
you are so pleasant and lovely to watch...you somehow remind me of my mom who passed away 5 years ago
Ah Mickel, so sad but so sweet. I am flattered to be compared to someone who would mean so much to you. Thank you so much for watching xx
Thanks Emily! It's so nice to have a spoken list from someone who's been there. And also nice to know that I'm not the only one who feels overwhelmed at the choice of all things baby!!
I feel so sad that I didnt start watching your videos while I was pregnant. My baby is almost 2 now. Very helpful video for new mums😚
Ah thats a shame Anetta. May be watch them for the next one?? Thank you so much for watching xx
Yayyyyy you fulfilled my request! I'm so happy right now- you're quite the mommy celebrity to me and I look up to you so much. This is a must watch for expecting mothers...very helpful.
Thanks Nisha. I hope so. Thank you so much for watching xx
Great, thorough video. I'm so impressed by that carseat that folds into a stroller. What an invention!!!🙌🏽🙌🏽
Do you know where you can buy that car seat?
I'm due with #2 in Sept and so glad you shared these. Also, why does everything sound so much better in your english, "buggy" is wayyy cuter than "stroller", and "nappy" sure as heck beats "diaper"...or maybe it's just your accent and how it has a way of making everything sound lovely and perfect.💕😂😍
love you too and is you have and baby
I thought the same, I watch so many English vloggers who have me using their words for things now lol
Hi Emily, this is my first time coming across your channel, and I absolutely love your content.I just had a baby 9 days ago and advice from more experienced moms is always welcomed.thanks.

I’m excited to see my baby girl in May around my own birthday! Thank you for your advice!!
Hi Emily! I am from New Zealand and have just had my first son I also lived in Essex for a while when I travelled so am loving your channel 😘 Can you do a video about what you do when you needed to leave your babies at home for events such as weddings, appointments, alone time lol etc Did you express? Bottle? Babysitter? Matt etc etc
So excited to see your channel growing!
Being a first time mum this pregnancy is a little overwhelming. Your videos are amazing and are so helpful and make me feel less of a target for baby shops who insist you buy everything!

I know what a shame Amanda. I doubt it will be too long as it is very popular here. Thank you so much for watching xx

A trick: you can watch series on flixzone. I've been using it for watching lots of of movies during the lockdown.
Great picks. I have never seen that car seat before. That's such a good idea!! Lx
i wish i had seen this video when i was pregnant. this is by far the most sensible list i've seen.
We bought a new pram with my first and we scratched the frame and handle the first time we got it out the car. We should of gone second hand. lesson learnt xx
Rachel Foster defo we got the iCandy its now scratched so much
It's so hard Rachel, as you get so caught up with having a baby, and you think a new pram is so essential. Thank you so much for watching xx
Useful video even though I'm done having 👶 - I think. Your choices are practical and essential. The Ikea high chair is such a bargain. I'd never have known.
Your dress is very pretty. Where is it from?
Have a fab wknd.
Thanks Savvy. This is the dress:

I couldn't agree more about the second hand items. Good luck with the arrival of your little one. Thank you so much for watching xx
Another great video. I really want a sleepy head for our next baby. My son is 6 months old and he wriggles himself to the top of his crib so his head is near enough touching the top. Looking gorgeous as always. xxxx
Hi Jennie, it could be worth a try. Perhaps look out for a second hand one. Thank you so much for watching xx
Thanks Emily. I never thought about looking for a second hand one - sometimes I really question myself lol. xxx
What a huppy mum!you truly are an inspiration!
Great tip on the baby bag didn't even think of that... I got a floral one
You're giving me a baby fever!!! 😱😱😱 Can't wait to have my second baby!
Thank you so much, its been very very helpful, can you post the matress you bought for the IKEA cot? thank you

Thank you! This video really helped ease some of my anxieties on what to buy for my baby! Very helpful! 💙💙💙💙
You really like the color gray... Really nice things
We are also going to be buying the ikea crib 😍 also the sleepyhead as have heard lots of positive things about it! I like that angel monitor thanks for sharing that one. Still choosing a buggy! I just got a baby carrier too the baby bjorn one hopefully it is comfortable.

You're so pretty again!:) Love your hair, it looks so healthy. Which Products do you use?
Ah thanks. Garnier. Thank you so much for watching xx
Again?! That sounds like a backhanded compliment lol, Emily is always stunning!
There was nothing behind my compliment, lol. Maybe I wasn't using the right Word. English is not my first language and because I'm only human, I make mistakes sometimes!;-)
Buying the Doona along side a stroller will work out more expensive then just buying a good quality iSize car seat and car seat. Also quite often the isofix bases for these car seats will allow the use of a rear facing toddler seat which is essential as rear facing is 5 x safer xx
doona is Isize approved, but also rearfacing after 1 is a choice, not a law
Great video your shirt is super cute ! I hope I can get things like what you have, I just found out I'm 16 & pregnant !💖
I love our angel care. Ours doesn't have a video option though. All our babies like to sleep on their side so for peace of mind we used the angel care :)
Loved it all.very helpful..Thanks a lot Emily
No problem Angel. Thank you so much for watching xx
My dockatot was a lifesaver 😍
Hi Emily, love your videos! Quick question. You mentioned you got the BEST mattress ever. Can you share the name / brand /model? Thanks!
Did you now bought new bugaboo? Your garden looks amazing, as well as house. at what industry you and your husband work?
I have just found your channel and you've already helped me so much thank you! Xx
Great video, loved the advise about not being too proud. My husbands cousin actually got her buggy from freecycle and we got a very expensive, very comfortable nursing chair from this site as well. It's well worth checking freecycle out for baby stuff. Again great video, I loved it!
Totally agree! Well done. Thank you so much for watching xx
great video! My husband and I hope that soon we will get pregnant again and get a second child. Many of the things you showed we did not buy on the first child and they will be on our list. Keep up the good work!
Like always, extremely helpful and entertaining 👏😊
I’m due in a few months with my first and midwives here in Scotland forbid baby nests/sleepy heads as babies can suffocate in them. And they also say babies should never ever sleep on their tummy. And here your son sleeps on his tummy in a sleepy head! I’m so confuuuused😩 Is the advice given different in England?
I know it’s very tough - you’ll know your baby though don’t worry xx
perfect vid my step mum is having a baby soon (yes it's very confusing) so this is amazing
Ha not confusing, enjoy being a sister!! Thank you so much for watching xx
Emily Norris thx
honestly if only we had a reasonable sized and simple fam like u do instead of 7 kids with different dad's 🤗
Amazing video as always! I love your videos! You look stunning as always! I love your dress!! xx
Yes Jean, especially if it helps sleep!! So important. Thank you so much for watching xx
Hi Emily, I love your dress! Where is it from? Thank you.
Thanks Marzena. This is the dress:

Hi Emily thanks for the videos- my baby is 4months now and we're unsure if in a few months we should move onto the sleepyhead grande as it looks huge -is that something you will be buying out of interest? X
Hey Emily, love your videos and your kids are so cute. I melt for Jackson! Are you going to the larger size Sleepyhead for him? I'm really happy with the Deluxe size for my baby girl and am thinking of buying the next size up.
Where did you buy the changing pad that you put on your dresser??? Love you videos☺️
Emily Norris thank you for your reply. Any recommendations on the mattress?
Emily Norris oh yes true Ill do that. Thank you so much really appreciate the help. And I'm so sorry to repeat myself I've just seen your other reply now. Thanks again xxx
Emily Norris sorry just one more thing I remember in one of your videos you mentioned having a breathable bumper for your baby's cot could you link where it's from? Thank youuuu xxxx
We have the Gulliver crib as well! It is great! Why spend $200-1000 + on a crib when you can get one so cheap at IKEA?
Exactly Christa! Thank you so much for watching xx
Do you think it's a good idea to buy the doona, use it as your main stroller for the first year and use an umbrella stroller afterwards? (Not buying a travel stroller or something like that)
love you! and your channel emily! lots of loves from Mexico 😍😘
Ah thanks for watching from Mexico Ruthy xx
Love your videos thanks for sharing!💕💕💕
ive always been curious with the sleepy head pod thingy are they safe could bub roll into the side and suffocate ? or are they breathable ? ive always liked the look of them but SIDS in Australia day not to put anything in the crib not even cot bumpers just to have them flat on their backs in the centre
but those look so cosy i can imagine bub would love them !
The Cleland's I'd do some research yourself, but my baby slept very well in it xx
The Cleland's in America they are called a DockATot. They have passed all the tests to be considered "safe". My son sleeps in one but we but him on his back to sleep. Definitely do your own research.
This is such a helpful video very good advice x p.s what kind are your carpets in the bedrooms Emily they look so nice thanks x
love that shirt! you makeup looks so pretty in this video :)
Was waiting for this video!! Thanks 😊
Thank you so much for watching xx
I wanted the Dock a Tot so bad but I just didn't end up getting one with my first baby. If I ever decide to have another child, that'll be the one thing I splurge on.
Hi Emily, I have one concern about the buggy, It looks risky without a bumper bar and the harness comes loose with just one push. What is your experience? do you feel a difference using a buggy without a bumper bar? Can the baby push the harness button? Thank you for your honest videos. ps.I would really like to hear your view on the difference of using the bugaboo bee and the cameleon.
