  • Ash and I met up with her Mum, Lil'Bit, and Boog at the Pow Wow. We enjoyed the day and especially the trout sandwich and the Indian taco.
Everything I do is practice. This is no exception. I am learning about filmmaking and cinematography so that I can be a better visual story teller.

I find it interesting how people get all twisted about videos such as this.
Who gave you authority to make sweeping statements about “who are” and “who are not “Native Americans”.
Pow Wows are a place for community building, culture sharing, and bridging the gap of ignorance.
Unfounded accusations are often used to make people feel superior to those they are accusing.
I present these videos for public awareness and education. It is unfortunate that some people are to established in their egos to accept any information that questions their narrative.
    I hope this helps…
    Have a blessed day.

This is great. I lived in Florida most of my life, and the Seminole Indians would hold festivals such as this. I was just a child then, but it was interesting, and so much fun. There was BBQ, and other foods, swamp buggy rides, Pow Wow dances, climbing greased poles that had a $100.00 bill at the top if you were lucky enough to get near it, and pig pens where the children had a chance to catch a tiny pig. All taking place in the everglades. It was a blast.

I think of my cousins every morning when I great the morning and at night when I dream of them and our time together. Creator is pleased to have his children remember creation of all things, to rest and enjoy it all on the sacred days pasted to us creating our culture and community, to heal one another in grace, and to make decisions for our children that will help them learn valuable lessons of growth from our ancestors and each other. Inspiring to see so many people come together in this way.

@@Chokyi-SengGe No specific intention. Maybe it could get people to think.
If all Native Americans in the past were like Tecumseh there wouldn't be such a comment. I wonder how much worth is in the so called "Warrior Code" of the Native Americans. Warriors continue to fight. They don't negotiate their lands with invaders, they marry within their own people who they are defending, they don't wilfully adopt a foreign language or foreign person names, they don't join an invader's army to then go around the world and do to people what they claim was done to them, they don't complain about being victims while expecting privileges at the same time.
I just saw footage of a girl who was pulled over a while back by a (white)cop in New Mexico. She identified herself as being Indigenous then said she couldn't cooperate with the police officer because she suffers from generational trauma caused by white people.
Natives, and other peoples, can contribute to their own genocide. It doesn't have to be violent. A people, or phenotype, can die out by procreating with the wrong people. We're not talking about ancestral purity, but people should convincingly look like what they claim to identify as. A small % of a certain DNA shouldn't hold much weight. I know there's a difference between race and tribal membership.
All respect to those around the world who fought or are fighting for their lives, land or principles: Palestinians, Irish, all slave rebellions, Puerto Rican Independists, Germans, Greeks, Spaniards, Indians, Africans,...

I thank you for the wonderful comment. Art is judged by its ability to rouse emotions. You have just validated this work.
I don’t know why you feel sick nor why your stomach hurts. I’m not a physician. But I did earn a Masters degree in Fine Art. Perhaps you should seek medical attention.
But in all seriousness, your opinion is irrelevant. You “being” uncomfortable or offended is on you.
Go out and engage the world, objectively rather than subjectively.

@@ashb9844I am not an ignorant person and by telling you I am older was only trying to let you know who I am. I apologize for assuming you knew the struggles of Native American woman and MMIW.

@kaliforniausa Many Mexicans look very much like Indians N the U.S. Bcuz they all have the same A,B,C,D,X haplogroups, but just come from different part of the country, but still they all do descend from the same ancient Mongoloid 1st Americans. They just have different languages & different cultures & histories.
