- Ash and I met up with her Mum, Lil'Bit, and Boog at the Pow Wow. We enjoyed the day and especially the trout sandwich and the Indian taco.
Everything I do is practice. This is no exception. I am learning about filmmaking and cinematography so that I can be a better visual story teller.
I find it interesting how people get all twisted about videos such as this.
Who gave you authority to make sweeping statements about “who are” and “who are not “Native Americans”.
Pow Wows are a place for community building, culture sharing, and bridging the gap of ignorance.
Unfounded accusations are often used to make people feel superior to those they are accusing.
I present these videos for public awareness and education. It is unfortunate that some people are to established in their egos to accept any information that questions their narrative.
I hope this helps…
Have a blessed day.
Thank you for taking me to this place!.)❤
Glad you enjoyed
Always a warm and friendly place, Thank You for sharing !! 🥰💯👀🌹🌹🌹🥨🦞⚡🔥🎃✨🎉💎🎩
Glad you like enjoyed it.
Beautiful ladies
Home sweet home
This is great. I lived in Florida most of my life, and the Seminole Indians would hold festivals such as this. I was just a child then, but it was interesting, and so much fun. There was BBQ, and other foods, swamp buggy rides, Pow Wow dances, climbing greased poles that had a $100.00 bill at the top if you were lucky enough to get near it, and pig pens where the children had a chance to catch a tiny pig. All taking place in the everglades. It was a blast.
Thanks for sharing your memories.
Beautiful how those dancing in regalia remind us of our past and those dressed in street clothes remind us of the present, pow wow is about medicine, connections and healing
I think of my cousins every morning when I great the morning and at night when I dream of them and our time together. Creator is pleased to have his children remember creation of all things, to rest and enjoy it all on the sacred days pasted to us creating our culture and community, to heal one another in grace, and to make decisions for our children that will help them learn valuable lessons of growth from our ancestors and each other. Inspiring to see so many people come together in this way.
@@yawbear I have a great respect for our American Indians. Too bad our government ignores them as they let our enemies enter our nation freely. The political hypocrisy of both parties makes me sick.
Oh, I love me some fried bread. Last time I had fried bread, another whole brother, made it for me so good
GREAT BACKGROUND FLUTE MUSIC
So friedliche ruhige Atmosphäre.., tolle Menschen, tolles Fest.,!!!
I'm from Wyoming and Utah. I been to my dad's people place in balckriver Wisconsin and no futher...
That's a dope spot. When I was a kid we had to go the local hall to get down. And that was hood adjacent. I like these smaller dance arenas compared to the ginormous casino pow wows. Thanks.
Peace Keep Building Keep Practicing on your film work. Your work represents us all from Michigan. Been years since I been to the Grand River you make me so proud I am in North Virginia now and I feel the power from the 🔥.

Warm greetings from Rockingham Beach Western Australia, originally from New Zealand. I enjoyed this particularly the beautiful woman in the T shirt, who was with her sisters. So naturally beautiful, if anyone knows her, please let her know. With regards John Ford
They are the backbone of the people. The women who would be no people without them , the givers of life❤
Kool wish we can go
I'm so in love with the set up circle ❤
The atmosphere of the video is sublime 👌 🤌
Looks like fun for the whole family 😎 👁️
Kia ora Kia oranana hi from NZ
The young lady at the 9 min mark is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL. She should be a model.

I’m glad you enjoyed the video. 😊
Need to make a visit out west. Compare the difference in pow wow styles, dress, dance, songs.
We would love to make that trip.
I agree, my comment got them all riled up.

Your projection and opinion come from misperception… consider the totality of the experience (those who were actually there are the only ones who can be aware of the experience).
Your perceptions/opinions are irrelevant.
Observe objectively, think critically, and rely on logic rather than emotion.
@@Chokyi-SengGe😂😂flatly exposing manipulation attempts (by people who like to cause consternation and sadness to gain some pathetic semblance of a smile),by blunt truth never gets old. New here but loving it from Maine.
Looks like a hole lot of Cherokee !
not quite yet close haahaa🤓
A lot of pilgrims. The only natives I saw were in the thumbnail 😂😂
Yes still keeping it real. ✊🏾
Although there were people from a variety of ethnic backgrounds, there were many indigenous people there as well.
Why do you feel that your comment benefits this conversation?
Aren’t the Cherokee from the south east and predominantly in Oklahoma now? You must be English.
Bela Festa 👏
Where is this Pow wow I'll like to know. Maybe I will get to go next year. Please let me know with regards John
I miss powwow
Make sure to connect with your tribe and find out the Pow Wow schedule in your region.
I love you all ❤️❤️⭕️❤️❤️ !

With spoon in hand and Buffalo dead, we will rise with the spirit of the eagle. With respect and honor of the wolf....
She is so beautiful with that black hair large jaws
Miss hearing if the old story.s Great Grand Mother Full Blooded Cherokee. Hair down to the ground my grandmother the same down to the ground wash it in rain water.
Sounds like a myth to me

What is your intention regarding the comment you posted?
@@Chokyi-SengGe Most people who claim that are proven wrong by genetic testing
So, is your intention “gatekeeping”? Inciting an unnecessary argument? Or are you lonely and in need of human contact?
@@Chokyi-SengGe The 2nd one

I’m Native to, and I Love all my Native Sisters & Brothers. The sister’s r crazy though. Lol we love them for it... ❤️✊🏾
If I had power I would give back everything that was stolen from like the plains land they traditionally way of living America government should have higher respect for those wonderful treasures

I’m not sure which of the three beautiful ladies you are referring to, but one of them is my anishinaabekwe (the one drinking hot coffee lol).
@Chokyi-SengGe rite directly in the middle she's thick and the other one is skinny and the other one I'm guessing is your lady

Brilliant comment
The only real Americans are there at the pow wow
Now...That is stupidly funny😁
Вы еще не исчезли во времени это похвально
Beautiful native blood 🩸 !
Flute Player?
I dabble.
That flute players been on a good one....
Seen a lot of Europeans in cosplay.
What is your intention regarding the comment you posted?
@RobEs_Art last time I remembered, natives had long black hair, not blonde.
Perhaps, but your original comment doesn’t benefit anyone.
It appears as if you like to post comments in an effort to invalidate others.
A lot of Caucasians over there.
What many call Hillbilly's or Rednecks of America are actually quite a bit mixed with natives. And they can look all kinds of ways. The traditional native look comes from Asia actually.
I was thinking the same damn thing, It’s so upsetting. Haven’t they taken enough!? Smfh
Please provide context for your comment… it’s quite vague.
That's funny in AZ the natives love fire water
Is there a reason to continue perpetuating the negative stereotypes?
Sensitive
What’s funny is you believing stereotypes.
Not every last single N.A. drinks alcohol. UR ignorant. There R many that don't drink alcohol.
the folks look more European than native - if you want to see how their ancestors really looked like then travel to Mongolia or Siberia
What is it you’re alluding to?
No the U.S. still has millions of N.A.s that still look like their ancient N.A. ancestors. Most ppl think when they see Indians, that they see Mexicans but its N.A.s they see.
True Beauty starts at 30.05 blessings to the Cherokee Nation.
She is, isn’t she🥰
I think most of the dancers were hobbyists .
I’m not sure what you’re trying to say. Do you expect “professional” native dancers?
@@Chokyi-SengGe Yes, actually. The majority of the traditional, grass, fancy, prairie-chicken, jingle-dress and shawl dancers in almost every federally recognized nation's pow-wow in the country, mainly dance for contest placement and those who achieve podium receive decent/large cash allotments. This video seems to come from either a state-recognized tribe's pow-wow, an incredibly small nation's pow-wow, or a smaller-scale pow-wow like a fundraiser or something like that.
What that the middle is all about?
I’m not sure. I didn’t speak with the planning committee about it. Speculation would suggest that the committee decided to try a different arrangement. Perhaps it’s a new trend, perhaps they decided to never do it again. 🤷♂️
Jimmy Eat World : The Middle
Seems fairly sedated ?
Ummm i didn't see to much natives there....
I was able to see, and talk with them while I was there. Were you there?
Just stay off the fire water and have a good time if not your asking trouble
they don't allow alcohol N those places. Ur ignorant

I'm having a hard time comprehending what you're trying to communicate with your comment.
Do pow wows there still require the vaccine?I’ve done too much research on the clot shot to take the gene therapy. Any of the ceremonies around here, I would like to see ,require the drug companies approval now. At least they did last time I checked. I miss the feeling in those places.
We were able to attend the GTB powwow in Traverse City (earlier video), and then the GVAIL powwow (this video). No mask requirement.
A lot of white people there. Oh, I forgot, they're 1/64 Native which makes them Native people of color.
What is your intention with the inciting comment?
@@Chokyi-SengGe No specific intention. Maybe it could get people to think.
If all Native Americans in the past were like Tecumseh there wouldn't be such a comment. I wonder how much worth is in the so called "Warrior Code" of the Native Americans. Warriors continue to fight. They don't negotiate their lands with invaders, they marry within their own people who they are defending, they don't wilfully adopt a foreign language or foreign person names, they don't join an invader's army to then go around the world and do to people what they claim was done to them, they don't complain about being victims while expecting privileges at the same time.
I just saw footage of a girl who was pulled over a while back by a (white)cop in New Mexico. She identified herself as being Indigenous then said she couldn't cooperate with the police officer because she suffers from generational trauma caused by white people.
Natives, and other peoples, can contribute to their own genocide. It doesn't have to be violent. A people, or phenotype, can die out by procreating with the wrong people. We're not talking about ancestral purity, but people should convincingly look like what they claim to identify as. A small % of a certain DNA shouldn't hold much weight. I know there's a difference between race and tribal membership.
All respect to those around the world who fought or are fighting for their lives, land or principles: Palestinians, Irish, all slave rebellions, Puerto Rican Independists, Germans, Greeks, Spaniards, Indians, Africans,...

And so what if it is a whole lot of Cherokee brothers and sisters they are Indian is all that matters
Cowboys get nervous when they hear this
Nah! Only when they play the 49ERS
А где здесь индейцы??? Одни белые и полукровки

why native women are so attractive?
its uh.....its different than the ones I go to but....to each their own I guess.

Why are you following the girls? It looks creepy and the girls look uncomfortable, most powwows I’ve been to are comfortable and welcoming. What tribe are you ?
Don’t make ignorant comments. He was filming everything, mainly me(his partner), my family, and his friend. All powwows we go to have been welcoming and comfortable, even invited us to film other powwows. So what’s YOUR problem? He doesn’t belong to any tribe but I do.
My problem is how uncomfortable the girls look. If you don't like the comments you get then turn them off. I a Navajo woman of the older generation
Since you deleted your other comment, I thought I would share my reply to it here so that you may have the opportunity to see it.
I thank you for the wonderful comment. Art is judged by its ability to rouse emotions. You have just validated this work.
I don’t know why you feel sick nor why your stomach hurts. I’m not a physician. But I did earn a Masters degree in Fine Art. Perhaps you should seek medical attention.
But in all seriousness, your opinion is irrelevant. You “being” uncomfortable or offended is on you.
Go out and engage the world, objectively rather than subjectively.
@@teenashelde4446did you bother to read the rest of my comment? You being from the older generation holds no merit when you’re acting ignorant.
@@ashb9844I am not an ignorant person and by telling you I am older was only trying to let you know who I am. I apologize for assuming you knew the struggles of Native American woman and MMIW.
Where's the Natives? I see more Native Americans in Mexican parties.
What is the intention of your comment?
N.A.s know when they see other N.A.s & that beautiful lady with make up & nose ring was a Native American & there were others there also. Powwows are open to all races, not just to N.A.s
Thats cause Mexicans are proud Natives!
@kaliforniausa Many Mexicans look very much like Indians N the U.S. Bcuz they all have the same A,B,C,D,X haplogroups, but just come from different part of the country, but still they all do descend from the same ancient Mongoloid 1st Americans. They just have different languages & different cultures & histories.
Didn't know there were European India's
Check your history... England ruled India for many, many years.
Can I be part of a tribe at all
You have to B born into the tribe as a baby of a tribal member.
