Something that really stuck out to me; I love the interaction between the Striking Scorpion and the Space Marine Captain, specifically the completely different sounding rhetorical devices being used in their speech. The space marine uses very plain, very blunt anaphora; " *Your* craftworld burns. *Your* soldiers bleed. *Your* people die today." It's poetic, but again very blunt, cold, menacing, to the point, exactly like how space marines are; scalples meant to break the enemy in key positions. The Striking Scorpion meanwhile strikes back with a more whimsical-sounding, equally poetic rhyme- "How proud you must *be* . Of your people's ability to inflict *atrocity* ." It's much softer than the space marine's, and almost conveys a sense of...innocence? As though to say the Aeldari don't want to fight, but are forced to because of their position in the galaxy. Really clever, I must admit.

It's too bad their lore got railroaded with the Ynnari books. I doubt GW will ever pay attention to the Craftworld Eldar again after giving them the proverbial middle finger in their own novels.
@@landonchristensen4420 There's a ton of potential with all the xenos factions that GW can tap into if they can stop with their blatant favoritism towards the Imperium
@@landonchristensen4420 It's so baffling how GW can do a good job in giving everyone their fair share of the spotlight in AoS, and yet they focus solely on the Imperium in 40k in both lore and tabletop because "it sells better". This must have been some kind of weird Cawl/Primaris mission before Bobby G showed up. Just doesn't make sense otherwise. It's suiting that it's the 5th company that undertook this mission. Regardless I love this episode. I loved seeing my Ultramarines being portrayed as the threat.
Personally, I love the Eldar. Their background brings the down sides of the concept of an utopia. What I find most interesting about their gear is the Wraithbone, I thought it was actual bones. In myths and movies like the Maleficent show fairies are weak to iron and at the time I was a huge dnd fan and there elves are related to fairies. So I joined one and the other together. Also I love their spirituality and their pantheon of gods for they don't screw with their followers. Finally, that Space Marine only wearing the mouthpiece pisses me off so much that I might as well be one of Khorne's greater daemons by now. The sheer stupidity of only wearing a mouth piece of the helmet is proven in this same episode where this specific Space Marine is killed.
Feels bad that ultramarines of all chapters would raze a craftworld at great cost, surely they’re more logical and slightly less xenocidal than most space marines
@Counterpoints setting up the loyalists' ultra Marines as their Primark is cutting deals with the eldar, sounds exactly like what kind of sananagens alpha legion would get up to
I still find it weird they chose Ultramarines of all chapters for this. Especially with how popular and long running the meme is of Roboutte dating an Eldar. That and, well, it'd be nice if other Chapters got the spotlight. We coulda had Invaders or Marines Malevolent for this.

OK, what this short doesn't show is how this craft world made a deal to help the Imperium, but like usual, they ran away and left everyone to die. Or they kill everyone themselves because the strings of fate said to. P.s. I am joking. I have no clue if there is any background lore for this short.
The imperium is huge and fragmented while some parts of the imperium might honor that deal others may not . Like for instance the Grey Knights are all right with the Elder but the rest of the imperium isn't
one think that i dont tank is if reproduction is much more rare/ difficult in the eldar race they should be the least to put their females in the frontlines and in any dangerous jobs , is more ok for the dark eldar to do it because they use unatural ways to reproduce or can even ressurect thenselfs so they dont need normal pregnancys unless to show status that they are powerfull and rich to have one ... but for a normal elder that depends on normal pregnancy every female should be more valuable than gold. PS: Un less those females are 100% steriless turning the already rare pregnancys totaly inexistent and eldar medical tecnology cannot fix this but ...
May i ask how the hell did eldar swords cleave space marines in half like that? Is there an explanation or just lazy writing? Oh and the chain sword with no pointy ends just went right through the chest plate, like what???
I disagree that the krork were a last ditch. It seems obvious (to me at least) the eldar and krork were both sides of the same coin. One to harness their psychic might in the realm of the warp the other to manifest it in the realm of the physical. They would have been created at the same time, both for the purpose of destroying the necrontyr. Both psychic weapons designed to work in tandem. Self styled inheritors.
This humanizes the Eldar but also have to remember they would happily leave millions even trillions of innocent lives to die just to save one of their kind.
