I wish I could’ve have been around to see this! I went to Webster Groves high school class of 98. We never learned about Douglas and it’s achievements. Thanks for this!
I lived on Arbor Ln., just across Kirkham off of Newport. Douglas was real close. We went to Avery, until 75/76 when the relined the district due to student loss. I had graduated to Hixon, but the class just behind me went to Douglas.
Parents of some of my students here at University of Chicago High School went to Douglass. They tell stories of a classy, dressy school with a high-quality and strict but lovingly dedicated faculty. A few Douglass kids in 1954-55 came into Normandy High School; some of them immediately made their mark academically, in the arts and athletically. They knew who they were.
My name is Cheryl Ambrose-Nash and I thank you for posting this, my late parents would be proud of this.

My Mom and her brothers and sisters went to Douglass High School. Also several aunts and uncles and cousins from Robertsville during the 40 and 50s...
