I remember serving him in a restaurant in London many years ago, kind person. it was only few months since I moved to England. He asked for the bill and payed with Amex that required a signature so I asked him for his ID... he was ok but his face was saying ( are you serious ?) hehe.

There are actually Nando's in America, but they're only in certain places.
Quite recent though compared to the rest of the world. There's about 42 restaurants now in the US, so i guess that's why people still don't know about them unless those who've been to EU and so on.

Well, I know in the USA, we have two locations here in Washington, D.C. and lots and lots of Pret-A-Manger, but not as many as in London where P-A-M seem to be on every street corner.

I've had nando's before. Pretty good I think. And mix and matching the sauce with everything on the table does make eating more interesting

Nandos is the best! (We have them in Canada) It's fresh chicken, grilled to perfection. None of that fake KFC crap :)

Guys, guys, please. They only have the fanciest things like Nandos refried chicken slapped on a bun with a squirt of mayo-based sauce and iceburg lettuce next to a helping of mostly cooked thick cut fries in Canada. They wouldn't understand our plebeian American foods like Kentucky fried fake chicken fried in states other than Kentucky. It's below them. I mean on the globe. But also they are clearly only into fancy things like Nandos there. (Have Nandos in the US btw... I'll tell you what though in Australia I avoided both like the plague- All about that Oporto dirty burger ;) )

We have Nando’s in Australia and it is delicious! But we also have genuine Portuguese chicken places now too.
One pattern I've noticed the Nando's though is the restaurant seems only interested in Anglo/ex-colony world. You cannot find it anywhere else. And even to America, it is relatively new.

It's....ok. It's just a generic chain, nothing that special. The closest thing we have to it in the US is Buffalo Wild Wings but Nandos isn't a sports bar. It's definitely not anything to go out of your way for! Better to get some authentic Indian or Korean food. 😏

We like our Nando's here in Chicago. Four Nando's hatched in the city in less than a year. I'm missing the ratatouille however which I had while in London, but no ratatouille here.

I’ve had Nando’s on Cape Town and the UK and the S African ones seemed to be far more casual/fast food style.

Nandos opened 10 restaurants in Toronto 4 years ago. All of them closed down. Overpriced, weird hospitality (gotta get your own food & drinks) and small portions for $. I bet it taste way better in the U.K.
Passed by Nando's a couple of times last time I was there. Have never tried it, but everyone says it's great.
Thanks to this I just found out there's a Nando's about an hours drive from me in Canada. Guess I'll be crossing the border sometime soon
For the record, there are over 20 Nando's restaurants in America. The only thing is they're all concentrated in the Washington, DC area so nobody really knows it. Maybe if they tried, I don't know, expanding! then Americans wouldn't always ask what Nando's is.

It's a South African Portuguese chicken franchise. The way British people speak of it you'd think it was to them what McDonalds is to America, well closer to chick-fil-a food wise anyway.
