    Al suffers from Kirk’s constant college takes and Prime pumping in way too many ad breaks.
    There was a change of possession less than 30 seconds before the end of the 1st quarter and we got 2 extended breaks with one play in between.

    One of the best experiences I had was during covid calling games on a live stream and was great at it.....this would be my dream job. That said, here are my rankings after being able to listen to all of these groups many of times over the years. Full disclosure I've played madden since eddie george was on the cover and the last few years of Charles Davis has maybe jaded my opinion as I feel like sometimes during real games, he is recording sound bits for madden:
    1. Troy & Joe (ESPN)
    2. Mike & Chris (Mike is the best play by play in the league....imagine Mike with Greg....or Tom)
    3. Kevin & Trent
    4. Jim & Tony
    5. Joe &Greg
    6. Kevin & Tom
    7. Adam & Mark
    8. Ian & Charles
    9. Al & Krik (Kirk is terrible and Al seems like he is ready for bed by half time)
    The Top 2 Dream Teams:
    1. NBC Production with Mike Tirico & Tom Brady.
    2. ESPN Production with Joe Buck & Troy Aikman....and bring back the ménage à trois with Greg Olsen.

    It's befitting to have Andrew on this very important episode!
    Bonkerz wildcard moment of the ep: Orr having Amin and Sanchez at #1, haha. But having an announcer talk to the audience like there's a clipboard in his hand is what I enjoyed so much about the Olympics announcer for ping pong despite not caring much for ping pong.
    Dan's announcer tastes seem to be about recapturing a feeling of being 8 years old and staying up a little later than usual to watch a Monday night game on the couch with dad. So I don't agree with a lot of them but I appreciate that kind of feeling. I do like when Michaels doesn't give a damn during a game but Herbstreet's analysis is either this guy is great or this guy is learning and will soon be great and every game, multiple times, neither one of them mentions something interesting happening on the field. I think Quiet Storm and Orr are right about the Sunday night duo. Tirico comes across as a very simple and content man, which is terrific for his blood pressure, but means he doesn't have much to add outside of the on field play-by-play and Collinsworth with his golf metaphors is just a couple of steps above smugly insufferable.
    I'm the opposite of Andrew (and I guess most other folks) in wanting coverage focused on the star players. Game after game the same "analysis", remarks, and gushing praise are repeated and very quickly it gets very boring. I like learning about all of the players on the team and about the lesser mentioned positions. If Tom Brady, who I find kind of dull, wants to talk about the adjustments made by the tight end rather than the pass thrown by Mahomes then that's fine. I promise there will be plenty of more times to talk about the Chiefs star QB. Also, it's almost unbelievable to hear about the meetings and prep that color commentators go through just so most of them on Sunday can deliver streams of the most repetitive, uninteresting dialogue in the history of english language broadcasting. I never realized how much work went into such an achievement. This comment of mine is too long.

      Dionysus is the Greek god of wine who was also known as Bacchus, which is the name the copycat Romans gave their equivalent wine god. Bacchus is also an indie comic by Eddie Campbell where the god barhops and struggles living in the 20th century and it reads very much like something Wess might've appreciated.

    Excellent segments. Thanks much. I would, however, argue the marriage between Matthew Stafford and Sean McVay is most likely over. This year's weird off season with the salary issue to go with the lingering nagging injuries of Stafford and so many players through camp showed how fragile the relationship is at this stage, especially since this team has not looked prepared to win since the week following the Lions game. Who do you think Sean McVay hates losing to more? Kyle Shanahan? Matt LaFleur? Or, Jared Goff? McVay has had trouble with the 49ers & Shanahan, but has never beaten Green Bay with LaFleur as their coach. The Rams have lost 5 straight to the Packers under Matt LaFleur. McVay, Stafford and a forgotten backup QB have yet to beat Green Bay in four tries from 2021-2024. The Lions with Goff have gone 4-2 in 6 contests in that period. Side note. Jared Goff, in 2018, is the only Rams QB to beat the Packers since Brett Favre was under center in 2006. You have to think that losing to Goff the last two times the Rams & Lions have met has been brutal psychologically for both McVay and Stafford. Goff now is MVP material while the Rams struggle with a broken roster two losses away from good night 2024 season. The reports from Mike Florio, and some young guy named Jack Settleman, that the Vikings and Rams are in discussions to move #9 to Minnesota sound like Stafford's agent on the prowl again, just like in 2020. I can't see how this sits well with Sean McVay who I think still hopes to win this season.

I wanna hear tb talk about all players on roster he don't have to mention the qb even once ever again and Itd be definitely not a loss.

    I am always bummed out when Manningcast isnt available
    Otherwise I only dislike
    Brady, Vilma. Feely. Herbstreet

    @36:45 The Collingsworth Beanie Baby moment had me and my wife laughing out of confusion. Like, is this dude ok? Someone should go check on him.
    Also, Al Micheals might be getting a hair to grumpy and disinterested with his games.
    I'm with Connor - Aikman/Buck are my least favorite. It's generic, and they're voices just run together. Monotonous.
    I wish there was a reliable way to put your team's radio coverage over the broadcast.

    Disagree on Brady. Any JAG can get in the booth and say “Isn’t Mahomes wonderful.” That’s how Nick Wright makes a living.
    The benefit of someone like Brady is he can bring another depth of analysis and point out what’s normally overlooked in team success.

    Booth Power Rankings: I can not listen to Charles Davis. He asks questions of Eagle like: "Do you know who this defense reminds me of?" Eagle blank. Davis, "Rommel, the WWII general." What? Is that better or worse than the Mary Tyler Moore reference?
    Davis makes these obscure references constantly.
    "You know my comparison for Joe Burrow?" Eagle blank. "Wayne Gretzky..." WTF?
    Davis described a RB using his hand to extend a run by a yard as "levitating." Levitating, really? Please.

    • @DamonClarke-g1f
      @DamonClarke-g1f День тому +1

      @didgruntleddansnyderfan Feels like we are stuck in a death spiral. Literally waiting, it's just time, until Kyle takes us back to the game, only to horribly choke a massive lead away, most likely to Reid. Although Flores or Schultz could also do the job. So many niner fans are happy with this, but damn, runner up is nowhere. A change is surely needed.

    • @didgruntleddansnyderfan
      @didgruntleddansnyderfan День тому +2

      @@DamonClarke-g1f Yes. The only problem is that change when you're perpetually #2 out of 32 is almost guaranteed to be change for the worse.
      If you ask me you need to upgrade your training staff or something. Maybe some survival training for your players? You're just always injured! The Chiefs are too, but they're like the world's greatest minimalists or something over there with Reid and Mahomes, and you're just not.
      Maybe you're too top heavy? An NFL season is, among other things, a test of depth, and you always seem to drop off when you get injuries. Too much, I mean. You're always going to have some drop off. But you should stilll be able to keep winning if you want a chip.

    • @DamonClarke-g1f
      @DamonClarke-g1f День тому +1

      @didgruntleddansnyderfan This is true sometimes you need to move backwards to progress again. But imagine by some miracle this season the Niners make it to the SB and they play the Chiefs. We all know how it would go. Despite leading, dominating even at times, we would lose. I cant deal with that again.

    • @didgruntleddansnyderfan
      @didgruntleddansnyderfan День тому

      @@DamonClarke-g1f No, it certainly is a bit of a1990s Buffalo Bills sit you've got going on. But the actual problem is that Mahomes + Reid are just too good. You really don't stand much of a chance with Purdy at QB. I like him, but let's just be real here: He isn't on the same level. And I think maybe you need to be, and even then it's not guaranteed.
      Ask the rest of the AFC how they feel. I had a bit of a chinwag with someone last night when I was trying to think of an AFC team that had actually beaten Mahomes in the playoffs, and I could only remember Burrow doing it once. I was then reminded that Tom Brady and Justin Herbert had also managed it once each. But that's three wins in approaching a decade. And one of them seems to have regressed out of competition and the other one has become a talking head due to extreme old age. Only Burrow is left, and he's struggled to repeat the feat.
      So it's not just the 49ers. And it's still better to play in Super Bowls than not to. Again, look at the Panthers...
