Haven't heard this song since I was a little girl. I went to UA-cam and it was on the screen. What a beautiful song. Thanks 🌹👑💕❤️💕❤️
Yes, Facebook trolled this song but look at God won't he do it. How many people came looking for the real song like I did. Praise God rejoicing to it and sharing it on and on.
Grew up listening to this song. It was funny but the message was good. Same to be said about the vide, which I had no idea existed.
Yes love The Thuthettes
Four naturally beautiful young ladies praising God. Simply beautiful!
Loving Life32 loving those jerry curls
@@lacrishajointer2105 Yes
YES PRAISE GOD
I mean beautiful natural dimes
I've never heard this song before, but the message was clear that he was hungry for God's word and to be saved
Praise the blessed name of Jesus! 🙏
That's the message exactly
My teacher would play this song when I was in Kindergarten and now I'm ?? Years old..lol😂
@James Feliciano So did mine and I'm 46❤
@James Feliciano I'm 3 years behind you 😆 and proud to be 50.
Alot of people can't see the beauty in holiness
Yes you are so right on that point. Because their spiritual eye's are still blinded by satan.
Proverbs 29:9 Whether the fool rages or laughs there is no peace.
Jeff Stift
Thank You Jeff for your fellowship tonight.
I love Proverbs! So much wisdom that is so applicable to everday life. Sometime at work and it starts to get busy and I have my bible out. But I can't decide what to read because of my ADHD Well you know like the song "I Go To The Rock" well I go to Proverbs it's never let me down yet. Oh Yea when you know what you know
@@tommyhudson483 I don't read my Bible like I should but I know Jesus is with me.He shows me scripture to read.He has helped me overcome many obstacles in my life including 2 tumors and cancer, walker, wheelchair, leg braces,3 week coma, months in the hospital,4 code blues and seizures, foot drop..etc..etc..etc.
Mouthful of a read in under 10 words. Got everyone all the way together.
There a lot of horrible comments about the lead singer. She's singing her praises to the Lord and people are worried about her hair and expressions. I think we all know what the Bible says about judging others. Beautiful message in this song
Well I would have killed for my Jheri curl to look like hers back in the day. We all looked just like they did back then. We were cute. But anyway she sang the song right. TGBTG.
Amen!! Focused on the wrong thing. She’s gorgeous now! Saw a post about this song. Her daughter commented, “thank God for growth!” Lol some of us can’t attest to looking better now than in our humble beginnings.
People worry over the wrong things. This is why they missed the message
I met them at a Church in Fort Worth Texas , I myself & they were much younger than on this video at that time they were just young intelligent Christians Children with Old Mature Souls , so from the looks of them as in growth in this video i would say they were all between 14 -17 years of age at the most , this video had to have been done early to mid 80's so Jheri Curls was in then , and they always carried themselves alot older than they actually were and they were 100% All-In for singing for the Lord , they don't raise them like this anymore , most young ladies now wanna be strippers , fight each other in the streets , disrespect their parents Smh
First I like her hair style! & thats not a Jerrycurl & not a Afro. She has a soft texture natural curl. At least none of them wearin fake hair.
I went to my Pastor and told him I wanted to be saved after hearing this song. This song literally changed my life.
SOOOOOO #WONDERFUL.. .#BLESSINGS 2 U!!!😇🙏🧡🦋💯
Amen! Thank you jesus for allowing God to come into your life!🙏🏽
.Amen.
Praise the Lord amen to eternal life and thank you Jesus Christ ❤
You joking right?
I loved this song growing up. I promise I would give anything sometimes to have the old days back
Same here.
Kimberly Williams Excatly I agree with you on that
Kimberly Williams yes I grew up on this song also and I always bless my soul
Brenda Barkley YES
Kimberly Williams ME 2!!¡!
They were a HUGE HIT back in the day. I used to listen to them as a kid on the way to church every Sunday
Me too!
Me too
U better believe it.
Me too along with The Clark Sister, The Pace Sisters, Tramaine Hawkins, Reverend F.C. Barnes, Reverend James Cleveland, Albertina Walker and more.....I miss those days of gospel.
YES IT WAS A BIG HIT THATS ALL WAS ON THE RADIO WHEN I WAS A LITTLE GIRL.
I want my soul to be SAVED! Praise God for His grace. This beautiful song brought me to tears 😥😭😢😪
that bassline and them keys though ,lol
This lead singer is an absolutely beautiful young lady. I pray she's still serving the Lord!
YES, SHE IS...HER NAME IS...#TUTU AGEE!!!😇💯🦋🙏🙏
Yep they still going strong just type in Truthettes and you’ll see a concert they just did. Beautiful women 👍🏽
She just made a Instagram post with the side by side video
My grandmother taught me this song and the message of it when I was a child... I lost her June 2017... This song always brings back fond memories of her... Tears of joy. I am eternally grateful. ❤️
Sorry for your loss.. do you still eat clay dirt
🕊
God bless you
So sorry for your lost, but this sounds like an awesome memory ❤️🙏🏽
I lost my mom four years later.
This was my first ever solo in church back in the 80s. I remember just about every gospel song has stories, that made them so interesting and painted a picture for the song.
Yes.
You are so right many songs are literally parables set to music. Sometimes what might not reach your spiritual ear in a sermon on the other hand you receive it immediately being annointed by a song. This song is in the what I like to refer to as the golden era of Gospel Music. So many good Singers Choirs Song Writers and Musicians I am so glad that alot of their work has been recorded and are on CD's and turntables and vinyl records are making a comeback.
The first song I sang of there's was "Making A way'. And that's also a great song !
Some of the biggest messages are told through simplicity!
vangoghmatisse1 Thank You
Amen, Jesus talked about the things that the people could relate 2. If he was among us 2day he would do the same
@@geeskin5750 so true!
PROV. 20:11 EVEN A CHILD IS KNOWN BY HIS DOINGS, WHETHER HIS WORK, BE PURE, AND WHETHER IT BE RIGHT.
AMEN 🙏
Someone made fun of this on Facebook, but there is a message behind it. I like it!!!!
What's the message?🤔
CoCo he said he was hungry for the lord not no food
THESE PEOPLE NEEDS PRAYER
I really didnt understand this title at first. I can see the intention behind it but how did they expect no one to not see the humour behind naming a gospel song after a sandwich filling
This My First Time Hearin About Them..They Killed This💯👌🏾💪🏾😎
I played this in our devotional last night and my 10 year old son started a fast the same night along with one of his older brothers. Glory to God! Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled.
Im smiling and praising with you!!
Wow!! Praise God
I know your comment is old but this is what I need at this time.
Thank you Brina Jean.
@@cmoore9287 isn't GOD so wonderful! HE knows what we need right when it's needed. GOD BLESS & KEEP you - stay encouraged!
Growing up in the 80's listening to this on Sunday mornings bring back great memories!!! MY GOD
I KNOW DATS RIGHT!
U better believe it.
I grew up in church in the early 90s but somehow I'm just hearing this song for first time. Wonderful message of wanting God in your life.
This song is from the early to mid 80's, if I recall correctly. I heard it on the gospel station all of the time as a kid.
Honestly I clicked on the video because I couldn't believe there was a song called peanut butter and jelly but listening to it, it has a nice message and it's a shame that people have such negative comments about it and about the people who are singing it
AMEN PRAYER IS A POWERFUL WEAPON JUST KEEP THEM IN PRAYER 🙏
These comments are highly ignorant and offensive but a study in the decline of the black American culture and community.
This was a huge hit for them at the time, among others. I loved this song growing up. Why is this song a source of comedy to y’all? It’s a beautiful old school hit.
I totally agree. Our culture has no respect for God or his people. And you wonder why our communities are riddled with trouble. We hate on each other instead of lifting each other up. So sad!
Any song about a dam peanut butter and jehhlleh sammich is funny. Not everyone is a christian and not everyone will get a word from God out of this song.
chgosyndicate The real problem with the black community and culture is white supremacy. All the lies we’ve been feed since our ancestors came here.If you leave a comment like this be ready for a reply from someone who’s not brainwashed by religion.
@@elvisjonesjr3369 👍
But what is so different from music today they say very simple parables, while shaking there behinds and disrespecting themselves. I watched a video of a girl that had on a teddy and her lyrics were simple n had no substance. She just wanted a man to fu$k her. So why can’t these girls sing about a child thirsting after spiritual food in robes with jerry curls. What is the big friggen deal🤔
This song NEVER gets old!!!
These young ladies were singing God’s praises when I was a teen. I was not living for Jesus then, but their music always touched my heart. I love them to this day. How can some of you make fun of very young women praising the Lord? You ought to be ashamed!
THESE PEOPLE TGATS MAKING FUN OF GODLY PEOPLE NEEDS PRAYER 🙏
Went to a new church today and feel like the young man in the song!
One of the best gospel songs. We are lucky we grew in this era ❤❤❤
I miss these days 😢 I wanna go back to this gospel
Unfortunately worldly music has pierced its way into gospel music and it hasn't be the same since
Let me start by saying that i am not Christian, but this song brings back beautiful memories of my Home when i was a child. My beloved Mother really held the Family together like glue. All of us just wanted to be aroind Her. May her beautiful spirit rest in power. And thank you for the beautiful music. Its really heart warming.
best part of this vid 1:05 "mother you really dont understand" and that dip, pause, then 1 more dip. When i tell u we can sho clown. Gotta love it.
Yeah, I love that extra!
+nickfreshalive yep 😂
BOL. yes sir
Yes!!!😂😂😂😂😂

I love this song. Some people want understand. When your soul cry out to The Lord. Amen
joyell marks, most fail in that area...
I love these types of songs with all my heart. They remind me of my childhood. Blessed be the name Jesus.
No Negative Sugar Honey Ice Tea
Amen! There was no Jesus in my immediate family but my Grandmother she new Jesus! I miss her, and at 14 God introduced himself to me and it’s been a wonderful journey. I did not here this song back then but I wore that Gerry Curl and all, Lol...Hallelujah!
I Love you so much Father thank you for never leaving us as you have promised!
@@jermanefields6470 Yesssssss praise the Lord everybody ought to praise the Lord. God bless your grandmother for sowing the seed in you that ya needed. Hallelujah I love Jesus too now and forever more.
This song takes us back to our Southern Gospel Quartet Culture.....I first heard this song on the Gospel Radio Station 30 years ago in Bay Springs, Mississippi and bought tears stringing down my eyes even til this day, this is truly a Classic.

Don't kno how i get here but this was nice😃...and im going to play is for my grandbaby tomorrow when she wakes up....she's 4and a huge peanut butter and jelly sandwich fan❤
I STILL love this song!!! #OldSchoolGospelMusic
I use to sing this song for my great grandmother as a little girl. Hadn't heard this song in years, and my eyes filled with tears. The memories of this song took me back to a simpler place in time. A time when every moment I had with my great grandmother was treasured. If I could go back in time ,I would go back to the days of singing this song to her. Just to see her smile and to say to her thank you for instilling in me your wisdom , guidance and the sweet love of the Lord.
And what's wildin anointed they still playing the same song on the radio on gospel station today in Florida❤ 2023 legendary gospel music
I remember as a child just moving to the state of Denver Colorado I was just waking up for my first day of school I believe it was the 5th grade & the radio station was kDko is all I remember but wen this song came on I thought to myself that this was the most beautiful song I've ever heard & today in my 50s it still is Amen God is great

Amen!!
Yes, beautiful young ladies praising God. Simply beautiful!
thank you Jesus , my spirit is deeply touched
These are beautiful children of God. My dad was a white Baptist Preacher. He took me to several black meetings back in the 70s. The Lord was in every song, the Lord was in the message. The Lord was in every testimony. I've never been the same. Praise God for folks that know how to really worship!
Her voice is 💥💥💥🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾...I LOVE THIS SONG...
Facebook lead me here... I saw the video that people were making fun and one of the comments mentioned that it's actually a gospel song so I had to seek it out. So glad I found this 💜
This takes me back ! I only heard it growing up. Never had the pleasure of seeing these beautiful annointed ladies. Is even better now. From the mouths of babes indeed
Me and brother use to sing this for my granny and her church friends! Lol I can’t believe this popped up on my feed. 😂
Wow, I'm 37 now I remember this song we use to sing it when I was a lil girl 😭...Yesss...I love it!!
My mom loved this song! We had the opportunity to see them perform an amazing (live concert) when they came to our church in Virginia with their dynamic musicians! ♥️ Oh myyy there was NOTHING shy about their calling to SANG to God's glory! --I recall being young and BET network Dr Bobby Jones Show aired them singing this mega hit.
This song brings me to tears every time I hear it. I always want to be hungry for His word. The song sounds silly, singing abt PB&J, but the point is so deep, especially with it coming from the purity of a heart of a child in the story. It hits home and always reminds me to be so transparent with God abt desiring him. Being a foodie also, it connects. I don't ever want to get so excited or hungry for other stuff over the Word of God and His presence.
Job 23:12 always comes to mind when i hear this song:
12 Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.
If I didn't listen to this a million times my all time favorite song in my youth I even have my children today listening to this song ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Wow I haven't heard this since I was maybe 9.... I'm 34 thank you YAHAWA these songs bring back that child love for THE MOST HIGH.!!!

Crying also but cleansing tears.
I remember seing this group on a gospel program back in the day. You can hear the influences of Shirley Caesar and Dorothy Norwood when this group sings. Brother said give me something with some substance and sustenance. Well alright!
Omg..I haven't heard this in ages!
Back in the 80,s holiness was real and these singer had more faith in their pinky finger while singing than the ones who were eating steak bread and potatoes👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍💯💯💯💯for real🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹

Never heard this a day in my life and I was at church faithfully must have missed it lol but I love the song and the message
Beautiful job....these ladies sounded so soulful at a young age.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I love this song. Out of all the gospel music my mother and grandma listened to, I’m surprised I never heard this song.
This is my first time ever hearing of this group . They sound really heaven sent. Like beautiful Angel's. This song came out in 1983 I was 5 years old. Then growing up i heard alot of other songs but this one. Until april 26 2019

Grew up,on this song. Loved it. As i child i so,understood. And we had to sing it in the choir.
GREAT MESSAGE.
I was just singing this song the other day. I am an old school gospel fan. Never knew who sung the song or either I am just too old now to remember. 🤣 I have loved this song ever since I was little. I love contemporary music but there is nothing like that old time music. Willis H. Crosby radio days. It’s a SC thing. Lol..... God never ceases to amaze me. He must have know I have been wanting to know the artist of this song and here it appeared today in the lineup.... 🙌🏽🙌🏽 But God!!!!!
I WAS RAISED OFF OF TRADITIONAL GOSPEL MUSIC
YESSSS LORD JESUS!!
I REMEMBER THIS SONG..I USE TO PLAY IT ALL THE TIME..🙌🙌🙌🙌
I prepare for church on Saturday evening, praying for the Sunday service I ask God for the message to truly be from him because I don't like water down messages. Make me feel like I rather have a peanut butter & jelly sandwich. I seen The Truthettes sing in 1985 in Durant, MS a very small town. They were very young but anointed.
We ridicule what we don’t understand! Sing it Sister! Our world is thirsting and starving to be fed the Word of God!
