I agree with your choices as they really reflect your style. I didn’t buy the Toteme scarf and 3 bags ( Fendi WOC, Gucci ophidia, and LV Croisette). I am not sure if I will get them this year. By the way, I don’t follow you in other media platforms because I am not in there but I have followed you for a long time. When I used to buy magazines, I would keep the best looks like in folders well, you came out in Redbook magazine with a black outfit and a flower scarf tied as a bow. That was 2014!

Girl I think you touched on a good subject about the quality of luxury vs the price tag and becoming mainstream. I believe these brands are making so much money on black folks that just don’t know any better but just want to say who they’re wearing. Also I’m glad you don’t buy into everything because you should buy what speaks to you and not just because it’s trending. I watch you because you’re very authentic, you are very knowledgeable and I love your style.

I think the older you get you realize who you are and what really speaks to you and unfortunately, a lot of people haven’t come to that conclusion yet, so they buy into trends, regardless, if it makes sense or not for their lifestyle. In fact, I picked up 3-4 Tiffany pieces preloved and saved a lot of money and have thoroughly enjoyed wearing them. I know you could find the cuff preloved. Thanks for your insights.☺🙏

I love and trust your perspective when it comes to fashion, Monica! As a fashion lover, for me things have to make sense and feel good regardless of the price point. Some things are too trendy now that you really have to think about it and not be impulsive when you buy luxury items or anything now because designers are really watch what they can increase their prices on based on how trendy the item is. They try to create the elusion that it exclusive, must have, or a hot item but its not. Its too many other options out there that are not the typical luxury household name, with quality, classic, and worth the money.

I feel you, but because my feet are so big, I’m finding it so hard to find great shoes that don’t cost a fortune and don’t make my feet look bigger than they are!

Hi Monica I love following some the makeup and style influencers just to see what is trendy and new and classy but I’m a women that don’t buy into designers name or wearing someone name don’t need to.. I love well made clothes and I don’t need to wear a $2500 bag with a designer name on it or shoes that kills my feet not that girl😂 but hey I enjoy seeing other ladies wearing them😂 I just go and buy something that is well made pretty and May be Trendy and classy for less. Now that is a great question! There has always been quality control issues depending on the garments and what it’s actually made up, but you’re right. Also, in fairness items never used to be this expensive when the quality was really good. As someone who used to sell over 20 years ago I can attest to that
I enjoyed this video. The Max Mara Teddy coat is my dream coat, but yes, it is very expensive. I have a vintage mink that cost less! I still want it, but may look into some of the better dupes. Happy New Year!

Happy New Year Monica. Top luxury designer names are kind of projecting fast fashion vibes to a certain degree. But maybe that's just my viewpoint because I don't indulge or focus much on them. And for those who do, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it - enjoy what you like😊. Or it could be because I don't access those stores to see their variety, my only viewpoint is from social media - everybody has the same item, so that's why I think top luxury designers are projecting fast fashion vibes 🤷♀️.
This is a great perspective. It’s hard to say something is exclusive when so many people have the items. Once you have multiple stores around the world, technically it’s kind of fast fashion. It’s just more expensive. In order to ensure that there is enough quantity available in all your stores you do have to produce at a rate that is not necessarily environmentally friendly. I think I have to dive into this a little bit more. Thank you for your perspective and happy new year my love.

The items you did not buy, i think you had made the right decision. We do not have to follow trends, most of them look ridiculous, and inappropriate for a certain age, esp as a mom.
I don’t think being a mom really has to do with the way we dress. Of course you want to dress for the occasion, but I think we need to lose the idea that once you become a mom, you have to dress a certain way. Because, really, who determines how Mom should look like? When you really think about it, it’s some old white man that says that this is what you should look like and I’m not here for that lol. anyWho, I digress, lol. Please don't be upset with me. as a mom myself, my kids when they were teenagers, they would behaved strangely whenever I was wearing short skirt or a bit sexy outfit so just to respect them, I changed my dress code when I was around their peers and in school. I bought it when bottega green was really trending. I also got the flash boots and I wanted a bag to match. In honesty, I don’t use it a lot, but I still love it and I don’t think I would get rid of it if I’m being honest. It’s still a great bag and the prices have gone up so much that I feel like I need to hold onto my bags right now. Lol.

Yes girl! I agree….these price increases are outrageous. I just can not do it anymore. Hard to fight the FOMO but it is what it is. I am all into the pre-love now. I’m not buying bags as an investment…..stock market for investment not bags. Love that you are over 40 and are doin it with your love of fashion.
