I have THIS unit already: the DDJ - SZ. From CEbu City, Philippines. The first one in my locality (city) to have this. I must say : the price point for this one is very reasonable. this is A BEAST! I also use this with an RMX 500 and RMX 1000 using the master out. IT Is such a pleasure playing all these. It needs getting used to since its size is bigger and the spacing is very proffessional; not like a cramped controller in general. I must say: THIS is a VERY professional equipment. THe sound card is so clear. i have used two laptops on these. No problems whatsoever. BEST controller so far. I must say,, this is not just a controller, this is THE BEST Controller out there that replicates a CDJ! Keep up the great work pioneer.
You know people keep saying nothing beats technics and i honestly used to be one of them. but idk man these controller are no joke anymore. maybe 4 years ago they were like unresponsive plastic toys. but these new ones are the real deal. Selling my techs i had since 05' cant wait to move into this decade with controllerism. im getting the ddj sr shit looks so sick.
This is really going to be a breakthrough for controllers. The 2 USB port is the number one seller in my opinion. It's not long until you start seeing these in clubs. I'm considering selling my rane 62 and Techs for this. Nice job Pioneer on being the pioneer.
wow, just awesome. pioneer is really making the best dj equipment and i think 2000€ is a good price for the ddj-sz, cause 2 CDJ 2000 NXS and 1 DJM 900 NXS cost nearly 6000€ and the ddj-sz got many functions from them.
the reason why i loove this controller is because theres a horn on it and can increase the phase and make it sound like a build..helps with builds alot..
Thanks for the translation closed captions! It worked well Good luck with this, but if I am investing, I want to get something more portable than the original flagship machines. The size comparison alone was the breaking point. There's no way I would carry this unit to a gig across the country. I love the SX for that purpose and have played in many out of town gigs with it. I agree that the sound quality upgrade is a necessity and would have been great on the DDJ-SX, but that's no reason for the price to double! The colored pads and the extra effects seem amateur for digital djing. The new USB connectivity is not important unless your a venue, in which case you'd still invest in the flagship machines. I respect Pioneer and have used their units for over 10 years, but in my opinion the DDJ-SX still reigns supreme!
I think this is the only time I saw a new piece of Pioneer gear that I was like "Damn, I don't need that." I might as well just save up for cdj2000 nexuses at that point. My DDJSX, SL4, and DJM900 nexus and turntables is plenty enough for me even to gig on!
I am glad you see that. I went from vinyl and an sl1 to ddsx . The ddjsx did not power on for about 40min two week after i bought it. And i had a gig that day. I took it back Got an SL3 and orthofon needles. The guy was shock when i said i didnt want a replacement. nothing beats separate pieces of devices .. I have always had problems from all in one devices.
Yup and only the right one is on the fritz. I will be in the middle of a scratch of cueing in the next song and it just acts like i let go when my hand has not changed position. Even if you are just trying to hold a moment of time it acts as if vinyl mode is turned off.
I made the choice to stick with traktor years ago when I moved to the world of digital DJing, this year I have really felt like I made the wrong decision. With all these pioneer controllers coming out for serato, its ridiculous! It's time for a good traktor version! I've currently got the DDJ-T1, and its outdated, still serves me well but we really need to see something for traktor that meets this level.
Did i hear correct ?….. Serato time code cd/vinyls can be used with the inbuilt sound card ? Something my beloved ddj-sx is missing . The inbuilt colour fx and sample buttons tare also a big WIN for me
yeah the sound card is really whats convincing me to buy this over the sx...the technology they are bringing over from the cdj are amazing for the price...anyone that thinks 2 grand is a lot for this unit obviously has not attempted to buy a stand alone 4 channel mixer from pioneer nor the decks :D
Honestly, I think I want one of these over the new Numark NS7 II. This controller still has 4 decks of mixing but by the looks of it, it has a lot more features than the NS7 II. Now to decide which one I wanna get.
Please pioneer, please consider making a modular version of ddj series. Would be sweet to have the CDJ sections work with existing nexus mixers and DVS or with ddj style mixer. A way to lock all 3 sections together to transport or use as a unit or break apart for more compact transport and dj booth positions
I would really love this in a version for Traktor Pro. I love all your products but the fact that all you made in the past 2 years was upgraded and new controllers for Serato while all you made for Traktor Pro was the DDJ-T1, makes me wonder if you forgot about it. I mean...2 YEARS since you guys released the DDJ-T1, I expect a new controller like the DDJ-SZ for Traktor. Its time for an upgrade dont you think Pioneer DJ? But besides all that, I really am digging this and really wish the DDJ-SZ could be also the DDJ-TZ for us Traktor users :)
This looks absolutely awesome, although one thing is missing. I was really hoping you would release a controller that has the hardware effects of the djm-900! The roll, echo, delay etc! Doing a delay and high pass filter always sounds so good. Why is it not on this controller!! Or is it so some people still have a reason to buy the djm-900 srt? Because at the moment I would choose the srt simply because of the hardware effects it has over this controller. Other than that its the controller hands down.
The SRT setup is the ultimate, but you can combine the SZ mixer Sound Color FX with Serato DJ's effects. they are not the same, but there are very similar options to be found. You can also use an RMX-500 or RMX-1000 on the master output if you want even more.
This can't be added with an update, so the only alternative for this is using the DJM-900SRT, with the DDJ-SP1 and the CDJ-2000NXS in HID mode. Then you can use the RMX-1000 or new RMX-500 on the Send/Return and combine rekordbox USB playback with Serato DJ control. The SZ is fourth and final controller in this range, so don't wait for another bigger one as the next step up is the CDJ/DJM range.
Pioneer DJ Thanks for the reply guys, appreciate it! That´s indeed a good solution, but also a quite expensive one :) That´s roughly 5K + VAT. But it´s worth saving the money for such a great set. Anything you can tell already about the new CDJ/DJM update? Or will it still kept secret? (release date, new functions) :))
You can actually modify the SX TSI for the SZ very easily, actually most of it works straight away, but we are working on an official mapping file, release TBC.
Hopefully Pioneer/Serato dealt with the few issues that have mared the DDJ-SX. The Crossfader is unable to be used traditionally at all on the SX due to volume mix issues, despite software upgrades. Also the centre plate on the SX is frail, with some moderate leaning to maintain control of the mix I have inadvertently caused an issue where the music physical sticks and jitters in Vinyl mode rendering vinyl mode impossible. Otherwise the SX has been a fantastic experience. I just hope the extra bucks go all the way with the overall quality and software/hardware integration in the SZ.
@pioneer DJ. This SZ is terrific, but is there any explanation as to why you guys are not making controllers for Traktor anymore. I am a Traktor fanboy and had to jump ship just to use the SZ. Just curious to know.
If I hook up two laptops, can I DJ in one and use Ableton Live with the APC40 in the other? Of course I can just use RCA input from laptop audio out and get the same effect - but it would be cool if they used the Bridge and synced ableton and dj software
***** SO i that a yes or a no i dont understand french or whatever that language is in that facebook page. If you clarify what your trying to say I would appreciate it.
Love the controller, just missing Traktor scratch. Problem with current hardware from Pioneer is that they split the market down the middle. If pioneer was able to be neutral, partner with both major players and produce these units with *slots" which could accommodate either Serato or Traktor internal sound cards. They could satisfy both camps with their hardware. Ideal would be to have 2 slots with sound cards that have 2 usb inputs (2x serato / 2x traktor) Market the cards separate, and buyers could either buy serato, traktor or both depending on their liking. If these "sound cards" were interchangeable with both controllers, and mixers, then its Game ON
The thing that I like the most are the bigger jog wheels, I hate those stupid tiny jogwheels usually on controllers. Will this one have moving platters like the cdj's?
Wow Pioneer, I didn't think all DJ's were made out of money. I might have to sell a kidney if I want something like this. Why not just add LCD display on the decks and have the controller read USB flash drives?
yes buts the sz vol 2 is £26 grand and requires a re-mortgage and a years down payments at 470 quid a month till the years over then pay the rest in one instalment while the next 47 different versions of the shit you over paid for have been released ...
I have a DJM600 (purchase 7 yrs ago or so) and CDJ800 x 1 + 1210MK2 x 3 and currently using Timecode with Traktor. (Did own Serato many years ago) Will I see a quality of sound increase with this controller. Besides the effects..... what other advantages would I have with this purchase? --- Tablespace :-)
Love the extras... I have the SX and wish the dual USB was on the SX also.. Please add dual USB to SX... My??? Can the EFX be used with the Microphone now? i.e. Echo / Reverb /etc.
I am seriously thinking about purchasing this controller. I know that it does not depend from the controller but tell me please - it works well with iPads?
A very simple trick for anybody wanting easy switchover, just play your first track from a CD or USB on the CDJs when you switch over. Or carry a few vinyl with your timecode discs if using Turntables.
From mid December 2014 the DDJ-SZ will ship with a key code for the FULL Infinity version of Virtual DJ 8! If you already own a DDJ-SZ you can still grab your FREE copy of Virtual DJ 8 Infinity until February 28th 2015.
I Own an SX (Beside the MAJOR No dedicated mic factor) IT"S INCREDIBLE!!!!. This SZ product is EXTREMLY IMPRESSIVE!!!!!! BUT WHYYYY SERATO AGAIN???...IN "MY OPINION", TRAKTOR BLOWS SERATO AWAY....NOT a hater on Serato, it's not bad software, but TRAKTOR is "THE BEST"....SZ Traktor ready controller DEF should be an option at this steep price point. Please Make Note Of This PIONEER & ALSO KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK, MUCH RESPECT, GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!!
I just bought the ddz-sz, and I'm transitioning from Traktor. I'm finding a few bugs, or unfriendly user experience. 1. I like my Saved Loops to be saved in spots that match with some cue points. For some tracks (not all), when I save a loop in the saved loop location and 3, some files keep moving it to the first or second spots. This is very inconvenient for somebody that is counting on the loops being there. 2. There is some empty space on the scree, why not display both the que points and the saved loops at the same time. It's nice to see both.
@pioneer dj I just purchased this unit in July 2016 (3 months ago) brought it home, did 2 gigs with it and the left jog wheel doesn't scratch any more. I took it to a Pioneer authorized repair center in Los Angeles, CA. they fixed the issue. i even tested the unit before i left the service center. i get home to play with it and find out that the fader doesn't work. it bleeds on both ends. so now i have to drive again, 2 hours there to get the fader looked at, drive back home, wait for them to call me back so i can pick it up, drive there another 2 hours and see what happens. so I'm going to spend 16 hours of driving (about 450 miles) to get this $2000.00 USD dj console fixed. Pioneer, How can you make this right?
I like everything this controller has to offer with some exceptions. My biggest issue is that it's built for Serato which is fine and all but if Serato has this issue with large libraries still, what's going to happen when 2 libraries load up!? Serato is getting way to much love with controllers is all I'm saying and yes I'm aware MIDI mapping is possible but you'll always lose some of the native capabilities doing this. Does NI have a patent out or something preventing this and companies don't want to pay that fee? Beautiful controller again but what am I gaining as a consumer to switch from the SX to the SZ that I can't get or get closer to getting on the SZ by adding another affordable MIDI controller at a fraction of the cost? Or any controller under $1500 for that matter.
The SZ does not load up the library, that all happens in the software on each independent computer, so they are isolated and would never impact performance. There are significant differences in size, build quality, connectivity, DVS support, and more performance features like FX and Oscillator.
*"The SZ does not load up the library, that all happens in the software on each computer"* Which I'm fully aware of because the controller only manipulates the commands in the UI/Software which was one of my issues being the choice of software this obvious beast of controller was mainly built for... Serato. You lose all of that functionality in a sense when you have to MIDI map it to another software which is the 2nd draw back. *"There are significant differences in size, build quality, connectivity, DVS support, and more performance features like FX and Oscillator"* Or.... I can keep what I have and get the new RMX-500 to get majority of those features at a fraction of the cost of this unit
Dj TeeOh When DJ still crashes if I load a hard drive over 300 GB when did they update and fix this issues I'm on the serato website tracking this issue all the time... no updates in site is what Serato says Please tell me i'm wrong
You know what would make me happy. Being able to use Rekord box with my ddjsx seeing it's pioneer software it should at least be bundled with all their products hint, hint ...
Is there any plan for a bigger softcase like the SC5? I just ordered the SZ, but I cannot find anything about a case or bag. The SC5 was very comfortable to put in everything I need.
I'm livid! brought a DDj-SX 3 weeks ago. Was thinking at the time it was missing some features and here they are, thanks guys................
I have THIS unit already: the DDJ - SZ. From CEbu City, Philippines. The first one in my locality (city) to have this. I must say : the price point for this one is very reasonable. this is A BEAST!

Pick mine up for our club tomorrow and will hopefully be doing Saturday night on it. CAN NOT WAIT!!!!!
Finally the "Pro"-Version!!! Awesome!
Thank you so much for the included size comparison!
This is really going to be a breakthrough for controllers. The 2 USB port is the number one seller in my opinion. It's not long until you start seeing these in clubs. I'm considering selling my rane 62 and Techs for this. Nice job Pioneer on being the pioneer.
Why am I even watching this I can't even afford the damn DDJ-SB lol
Im with you bro.
same. I wish I had enough
Maybe you can find a site where you can do a pay as you play plan break it into 4,or 8 payments i use www.zzounds.com
Dear Santa.....
Man I was thinking the same thing
Loving their DDj-SB, true value for money. :)
Thanks Pioneer DJ for this awesome piece of equipment.
a new enormous product from pioneer! best controllers on the market!
wow, just awesome. pioneer is really making the best dj equipment and i think 2000€ is a good price for the ddj-sz, cause 2 CDJ 2000 NXS and 1 DJM 900 NXS cost nearly 6000€ and the ddj-sz got many functions from them.
Was saving up for a SX, but glad I haven't bought it yet, saving up for this bad boy now; the ultimate mobile solution!
I love my sz. I have a show on the 27th and I can't wait
Just got mines today! Can't wait to use it this weekend!
the reason why i loove this controller is because theres a horn on it and can increase the phase and make it sound like a build..helps with builds alot..
So far this is my dream controller!

Wow! I just bought the DDJ-SX-N last month!
Nice! Once I knew DVS was going to be supported I knew that you guys were going to unleash the beast!
The Colored Pads Look Better than I thought! Great Hardware!
the best controller until now
It's a $2,000 controller. I have tried and I love it! No big difference from the DDj-SX. Except the $1,000 gap.
Look good, Glad i returned my ddjsx two weeks after i bought it.
Mine just arrived now I got to wait for my mom to ship it from my house and I can't wait!!!
Can't wait to get this.....I'm a proud owner of the ddj-sx
I think this is the only time I saw a new piece of Pioneer gear that I was like "Damn, I don't need that." I might as well just save up for cdj2000 nexuses at that point. My DDJSX, SL4, and DJM900 nexus and turntables is plenty enough for me even to gig on!

ProdigySoundz .Olamide I am treating myself to a djm900 nexus in febuary
ProdigySoundz .Olamide My right deck on my DDJSX is always loosing sensitivity and will never scratch!!
did you adjust the sensitivity knob
Yup and only the right one is on the fritz. I will be in the middle of a scratch of cueing in the next song and it just acts like i let go when my hand has not changed position. Even if you are just trying to hold a moment of time it acts as if vinyl mode is turned off.
thank you for support
Man wish I had of waited until this unit came out, but I love my ddj-sx
this was a video from Mavis dj on DDJ SZ, I cant find it anymore, i wish to have the original version of it. Love this video
Addresses the shortcomings of the smaller 4 channel one for what I needed. Totally buying one to switch from my CDJ1000s. Wicked ;)
I really want to buy this
Thank you for your comment.
Thank you...no more toy size platters...Christmas came a month's late this year
Pre ordered mine already thanks Sam Ash!
O yea this is the one....it's has everything i wanted on it...can't wait to get it
Now we're cooking!! This controller tempts me to try serato. Mmm, I wonder how useful it would be with ableton
Quite easily the sexiest controller to date. Now if only I had the money ;_:
Did i hear correct ?….. Serato time code cd/vinyls can be used with the inbuilt sound card ? Something my beloved ddj-sx is missing . The inbuilt colour fx and sample buttons tare also a big WIN for me
yeah the sound card is really whats convincing me to buy this over the sx...the technology they are bringing over from the cdj are amazing for the price...anyone that thinks 2 grand is a lot for this unit obviously has not attempted to buy a stand alone 4 channel mixer from pioneer nor the decks :D
Looks beautiful !!!!
Looks awesome!! Will their be a properly integrated (NHL/HID like pioneer ddj-t1) version of the SZ for Traktor?
You're the best Pioneer
I would really love this in a version for Traktor Pro. I love all your products but the fact that all you made in the past 2 years was upgraded and new controllers for Serato while all you made for Traktor Pro was the DDJ-T1, makes me wonder if you forgot about it. How do you do two diffrent effects at the same time? i can only do one but i have a simple midi controller
This is massive!!
Djing jus became a elite sport:)
GREAT! Pioneer DDJ-SZ Serato DJ Controller Official Walkthrough
Great update, I´ll go for it. But still no USB port as backup device and no send/ return for the RMX.
Hopefully it will be in the next update.
This can't be added with an update, so the only alternative for this is using the DJM-900SRT, with the DDJ-SP1 and the CDJ-2000NXS in HID mode. Thanks for the reply guys, appreciate it! That´s indeed a good solution, but also a quite expensive one :) That´s roughly 5K + VAT. But it´s worth saving the money for such a great set.
Anything you can tell already about the new CDJ/DJM update? Or will it still kept secret? (release date, new functions) :))
Martin Wetzels Really sorry, we can't talk about future products..
Pioneer DJ
I understand :) It was worth a try
Anyway, I like it you guys answer our questions!! Keep it up!!
Great products, great sevice!!
Martin Wetzels Glad to help.
Pioneer did release tsi. On their website for tracktor last month. Works pretty well too
You can actually modify the SX TSI for the SZ very easily, actually most of it works straight away, but we are working on an official mapping file, release TBC.
I think this will be my next purchase.
Really want this right now!!
Looks like a brilliant toy hehe I'll love to play with it!
Holy DDJ-SZ Batman!! Numark just keeled over and died!!! AWWEESOOOMMMEEENESS!!

NS72, feels so amazing, I am curious if this unit has that too.
Come with Serato DJ? Nice one. I think i've found the best choice
We have improved the sound quality a lot from the DJM-600 that is for sure.
RIGHT as I bought a DDJ-SX goddamn it!
Great, now we'll never get split cue on our newly bought DDJ-SX's FFS!!!!
This is pretty intense.. even though there's a DDJ-SX right in front of me already :D
I want one!!!!!! Definitely on my wish list!!! #DreamComeTrue
Love the extras... I have the SX and wish the dual USB was on the SX also.. Please add dual USB to SX...
My??? Can the EFX be used with the Microphone now? i.e. Echo / Reverb /etc.
The Color FX work with the Mic, but not Serato DJ's effects.
MUST HAVE! So glad I didnt get the sx so quickly! This is like a CDJ2000 basically
Ooooomg. I love how this came out right after i bought my gold DDJ-SX lmfao. Oh well
oh my!! you get another run of my money to this baby..
amazing bit of kit.. can no way afford, wheres the competition at!?
I am seriously thinking about purchasing this controller. I know that it does not depend from the controller but tell me please - it works well with iPads?
Ok,how about a 2 channel mixer for serto dj something like the DJM-T1. Where's the affortable mixers other than controllers.
Worth thinking about, anyone else like this idea?

2x USB ports! Makes me wonder if the next iteration of the DJM-900SRT will include 2x USB ports. Rane still has an upper hand on that.
SICK ! I'm getting my DDJ-SZ in February!
Charlie D lucky dumbass xD
of course this comes out a month after i get the ddj sx for christmas
I want this! but still love my ddj sx!
Numark fanboy and i have to say this is dope. just needs the spinning platters.
lot of DDJ Sx will be on the e-bay :) including my :))))
GETTING MINE SOOOONNNN!!
*"The SZ does not load up the library, that all happens in the software on each computer"*
Which I'm fully aware of because the controller only manipulates the commands in the UI/Software which was one of my issues being the choice of software this obvious beast of controller was mainly built for... Serato. You lose all of that functionality in a sense when you have to MIDI map it to another software which is the 2nd draw back.
*"There are significant differences in size, build quality, connectivity, DVS support, and more performance features like FX and Oscillator"*
Or.... I can keep what I have and get the new RMX-500 to get majority of those features at a fraction of the cost of this unit
Ben Jones Glad you could find a solution that suits you, that is a tasty setup!
That has been fixed. SDJ no longer has an allocated memory.
Dj TeeOh When DJ still crashes if I load a hard drive over 300 GB when did they update and fix this issues I'm on the serato website tracking this issue all the time... no updates in site is what Serato says
Please tell me i'm wrong
You know what would make me happy. Being able to use Rekord box with my ddjsx seeing it's pioneer software it should at least be bundled with all their products hint, hint
...
I like VDJ and I'm use to it now. I can play videos with it. Can Serato play videos?
Is there any plan for a bigger softcase like the SC5?
I just ordered the SZ, but I cannot find anything about a case or bag. The SC5 was very comfortable to put in everything I need.
We have passed your comments on the R&D department.
Pioneer DJ Thanks :)
Ye its a perfect DJ controller for me
guys good I like it and very fussy and great for DJ mixing
Pioneer should add in the jog feeling adjust in the XDJ RX.
So yesterday I bought DDJ-SX and now you release this hahaha I hate you pioneer... But It's great!
