Itetest ko parin po ang blue carbon. Sa blue carbon naman kasi ay may kasama na syang bms so kailangan din ifactor yun price ng bms at yun performance ng battery na ginamit sa blue carbon.

I bought this type of battery and configured it for 48V from One point solar. I connected it in series with with JBD BMS and 5A active balancer, The problem with this is there no way to know if these batteries has uniform capacity unless you test everyone of them. Initially I bought 4 pcs, but during charging, (around 30A from solar charge controller) one of the batteries will be full charge first (while other 3 batteries is at around 3.35V each cell, so I bought another 1, I thought it will fix the issue but after 2 days, another battery would exhibit same problem. Conclusion: Do not buy this battery if you plan to connect it in series

Yeah you only want to buy a 48V system if all 16 cells can be sourced from the same batch. Buying 4 12V batteries from a supplier doesn't guarantee you get 4 from the same batch.

Hello Sir. Thank you very much sa napakainformative na video. It helps a lot sa mga startup people na gusto pag aralan ang solar setup. May asks lang po ako, meron po ba kayo ibang marerecommend na BMS aside dun po sa kasama sa links nyo? Mejo hindi pa po kase kaya ng budget para sa recommended BMS nyo. Same din po yung battery ko sa inyo. And clarify ko lang po, 2 sets ng battery balancer na nailagay nyo. Meron po kayo diagram kung papano po install itong 2 balancers? When you say Load Sir yung galing sa P-/C- galing sa BMS eto po yung ikakabit sa negative ng inverter at yung positive terminal ng battery is sa positive ng inverter? Tama po ba intindi ko Sir?
Sa BMS po hindi ko pa po kasi natrytry yun mga mura kaya hindi ko pa marerecomend. Pero bumili na po ako ng mga murang BMS hinihintay ko palang dumating para po matest natin at malaman natin kung alin ba sa mga murang BMS ang maganda. Ang pinakamura po na BMS na natry ko ay yun DALY na 100A BMS meron po nakasale ngayun na 4s 100A BMS 1700 pesos lang usually 2000 pesos sya pero Heyo ang tatak same lang naman sya ng DALY iba lang pangalan. Yun naman sa paglagay ng balancer same lang po ang wiring sa pag lagay ng BMS. So yun black wire ng balancer ay ikakabit kung saan nakakabit yun black wire ng BMS. Kung lalagyan mo 2nd BMS ganun din po ang wiring nakaparallel lang silang lahat.
At tama po sa connection sa battery. Positive ng inverter ay sa positive ng battery at negative ng inverter ay sa P-/C-. Ganun din sa SCC same lang din po.

I was told these are actually *used* BYD 260AH battery pack.
And what you tested is a 250AH or 96% condition.
Some Chinese vendors also offer these in varying conditions of 220Ah and 200AH variants.
I am not sure if these are Class C, which are to be destroyed but was resold instead.
Thanks for the info I tried to find any details about this cells and couldnt find any. If its at 96% SOH its still fine for my usage as it still has at least 80% of its total cycles besides after 80%SOH the cells can still be used. And at its current price it is the cheapest used cell you can buy.
They say it came from buses. So the only reasons I can think of if they are replacing it already if it still has 96% of its capacity is it can no longer sustain high discharge rate or if one of the cells is way out of balance. I have tested the cells that I bought and they still work just fine. the advertised 0.24C discharge rate is a little bit on the low side but I plan on using these cells in parallel to help with that. I guess time will tell if I chose the wrong cells as I bought 6 of the 24v version of these. A video on those batteries will be soon uploaded.

@@DanBurgaud the resistance I got from my tests are 0.3-0.5mohms. I am not sure what is the nominal IR of this type of cells. It is somewhat unusual that a large cell like this has a very low advertised discharge rate although it is possible that its just a low discharge rate cell since on 18650s high capacity cells has lower discharge rates but I dont know if that applies to this cells too. I am more inclined to think that this are unbalanced cells that is why they replaced it early.

hi are that already working in solar, any feedback ? i read the cell be on horizontal is not good on solar, they should be on vertical because of the inside liquid any opinion ?
There are other manufacturers that already said that it doesn't matter anymore on how the cells are oriented. Maybe the container is fully filled so it doesn't matter if it is horizontal or not. Some even say that the electrolyte is not in liquid form and mostly like a gel so it stays in place on any orientation. Just always check the datasheet of your cells and see what is the suggested orientation.

Hindi pa po. From what I see parang gumagamit naman sila ng known cells like sinopoly and great power cells. yun mga cells po na yun ang natest ko na.

You were asking pala kung paano iconnect yun BMS sa PC. Hindi pa po ako nagcoconect ng BMS sa PC pero you can do it kung meron ka nung rs485/uart to USB cable na binebenta ng mga BMS manufacturer. Yun Daly po and JBD may tinda po silang ganun para sa smart BMS nila. For me its not really that usefull iconnect ang BMS sa PC dahil mas madali gamitin ang bluetooth connection + phone.

1. Hindi. You can just leave it.
2. Pwede naman gamitin yun coolant piping pero hindi naman kailangan unless super taas discharge/charge rate mo to the point na umiinit yung battery mo.
3. Too high discharge rate, Overcharged and overdischarged. If you also leave it fully charged or fully discharged for a long time it might also bloat.
4. Pwedeng BMS nalang. Yun balancer na kasama ay mabagal magbalance. So kung malaki differences ng cell ay posiblend di kayanin nung builtin balancer. Kaya dun ka na magiinstall ng mas mabilis na active balancer.
5. Pwede po isa pwede dalawa. Kailangan lang iparallel mo din yun individual cells kung isa lang BMS mo. Kung dalawa bms mo yun output lang ng bms ang ipaparallel mo. I will upload a video soon sa pag parallel ng BYD.

@@juantamad5784 kung yun byd po ang itotop balance nyo mahirap po gamit ang built in na balancer kasi po mabagal. It will take you a month siguro just to balance it yun ay kung unbalanced yun cells. Its easier to just charge the cells individually kung meron ka adjustable power supply.

Question, mga ilang cycles or years expected mo sa 2nd hand batteries? I'm interested on your opinion based on research. Wala kasi gaano data kung gaano katagal calendar life ng mga prismatic lifep04. Let's say kung hindi naman abused at tamang charging/discharging parameters, tatagal pa kaya ng 10yrs?
Di ba yung lead acid batts, ultimately nasisira at nag dedegrade yung material sa loob? Sa lifep04 kaya? Nababasa ko yung dendrites ang nag form sa anode/cathode, which causes high internal resistance..So I'm wondering kung nag fo-form sya regardless at may limited lifespan/calendar life lng din regardless kung naubos natin ang cycles o hindi.
Datasheet of batteries usually say that the EOL of batteries is when its capacity goes down to 80%. And based on cycle performance curves that I have seen, it looks like that lifepo4 degrades linearly. With that info it should be somewhat easy to predict the remaining charge cycle of a battery based on tested capacity. So for example, this battery is advertised to have a cycle life of 3000. So lets say nakakuha lang tayo ng 225Ah on our capacity test so that should mean we still have 1500 cycles left on the battery. Which is roughly 4 years if you cycle the battery everyday. But in our case we still have exactly 250Ah so I expect to get 3000 cycles out of these batteries which should last for 8 years. I did not factor the age degredation of the cells dahil wala ako mahanap na data tungkol sa age degredation ng lifepo4 so hindi ko alam kung paano ba magbebehave ang lifepo4 after years of usage but electrolytes do degrade overtime, but how much ay hindi ko alam. Para sa akin more than 5 years of use ay ok na sa akin. Hindi rin naman yan basta nalang titigil magwork but bababa lang ang capacity at discharge/charge rates nya. Dahil everytime na ginagamit sya ay unti unting tataas ang internal resistance. By the time siguro na kailangan na sya palitan ay may mas bago nang technology ng battery na mas high density at mas mura.

@@SolarMinerPH i already found the culprit on why my powmr 24v 3.6 tripped the circuit breaker on batt side which i installed 2pcs 12v 250ah byd in series and a daly bms 150a plus the active balancer 8s.. it worked for 3 days.. i saw ur video about daly bms parameter settings24v.. so ill try your setting if it will work.. ;-)

Opo yun ang plan ko. Iniisip ko pa kung paano ko maipaparallel yun mga cells. Ang bms po na gagamitin ko ay 150amp since abot ng 100amps ang expected na load ko, mas maganda kung may allowance kaya 150amp ang binili ko.

I set mine at 11v to 12v. Kung conservative ka go with 12v. Recovery 1v higher than lvd or its up to you kung kaylan mo gusto magreconnect yun inverter wag lang malapit sa lvd dahil mag tuturn on and off yan ng paulit ulit pag malapit sa lvd ang reconnect. Charging voltage same na sa nakaset sa bms mo.

Hindi po lahat. Its a used battery so possible na may mas mababa pa. Sa anim na binili ko may 2 battery na may cells na less than 250ah. 245ah lang nung tinest ko.

Normal po na bababa ang voltage pag may load na. 14.6v ang full charge pero babagsak agad yan sa 13.x volts pag may load na.

6000wh / 5 = 1200 watts na panel
Ang pagpili ng bms ay depende sa load mo. Ilang watts ba ang load mo?
Example po. 1000 watts na inverter ang load mo. Pwede na po dyan ang 100amp na bms dahil sa 100amp na bms ay kaya nya ang 2400 watts na load. (100a x 24v =2400watts) pero syempre ayaw natin na sinasagad ang bms kaya maganda po na may allowance tayo. kadalasan po 100amp ang gamit natin dahil yun yung usually pinakamababang amp ng mga maayos na bms. Kung light loads lang naman you can use smaller bms icompute mo nalang kung pasok ang load mo sa bms. Check nyo rin po kung pasok din ang charging current ng bms sa charge current ng scc/panel pero usually medyo mataas naman po mga charge current ng bms kaya kung minsan hindi na tinitignan pero may limit din po ang charge current ng bms.
Favorite bms ko po ngayon ay jbd bms. Yun smart version kunin mo para madali mamonitor yun cells ng battery mo at pwede mo iset lahat ng settings ng bms.

4 x 320w = 1280w (2s2P) ang configuration ko po sa ngayon. at may daly bms 8s100a/50a charging (with active balancer 5a). pero hanggang 60-70% lang po ang inaabot. It makes sense po yung sinabi ninyo.
siguro ang problema dito ay yung built-in mppt ng inverter which is max pv input current is 40a. ano po sa tingin ninyo? Thank you ulit.
@@alkhobarqurayyah ilang amps ba ang nakalagay sa bms mo pag nagchacharge sa umaga? Kung minsan kasi hindi naman talaga full na 1280 watts nagegenerate ng panel. And pwede rin na kulang yun 40amps ng scc mo kasi. 1280 / 24 = 53 amps. You need at least 53 amps na scc at bms for charging.

May kasama po balancer but it is not like the capacitor based active balancer where charge is being transferred from high voltage cell to a lower voltage cell. Yun balancer na kasama uses resistors to burn energy into heat to lower the voltage of higher cells para pumantay yun voltage nya sa ibang cells. It is a slow balancer and a capacitor active balancer is way better. I already removed those balancers on my batteries. Pero kung budget build lang naman those balancers will work but like I said it is slow.

Ok lang basta sa unang charge at discharge mo ay imonitor mo ang voltage ng bawat cells pag malapit na mapuno or malobat. Siguraduhin mong wala ni isa sa cell ang sosobra sa 3.65v or mas bababa sa 2.5v mas ok kung ang low voltage cutoff ng inverter mo ay 10.8v or higher at ang overcharge naman sa scc ay 14v Or mas ok 13.6v. kapag nakita mo naman na balanced ang cells ng battery mo after mo icycle ng ilang ulit ay pwede mo na isagad mga voltages para mas magamit mo capacity ng battery.

smart bms ba yan daly mo? If smart bms yan, pwede mo icheck sa app kung bakit nagdidisconnect at bumababa voltage.
How long is it going to last?
I can't find any datasheet so I cannot say any solid numbers.
But if we assume it has a 2500 cycles and that is already on the conservative side.
And they say it is slightly used so lets get 10% off of it.
2500 * 0.9 = 2250 cycles left
And we are gonna cycle it daily
2250 cycles / 365 days = 6.1 Years
So maybe 5-6 years. It also doesn't mean it will no longer work after 6 years but it will have less capacity than before (70%-80% less) and lower charge and discharge rates.

Sa mga solar batteries po natin na ginagamit sa bahay ay hindi naman umiinit ng sobra ang cells as long as hindi sumosobra sa specifications ang discharge rate ay sapat na ang passive air cooling. Sa electric vehicles ay mas napupush kasi ang batteries kaya mas umiinit sila kaya meron silang special cooling mechanism katulad ng battery na ito.

Where can you buy a 24v byd at a price of 17k?
If you use 6 PCs 12v lead acid into a 24v system, you will only get 300ah and at 50% DOD you only get 150ah usable capacity.

You do not need to float Lifepo4. But if you cannot turn off the float voltage on your scc then choose 13.6v.
