    Nice video guys. Crappie fishing is real big down here in Florida right now but haven't tried the fire dye yet. My wife grew up in Arkansas and has been begging me to get up there for some hunting and fishing.

    Hey that's usually when I slay crappie is in August dead of Summer in Missouri. Have caught some bigguns during that time in smaller lakes or considered big ponds. Im from Michigan and never targeted crappies till I moved to Missouri only because there's not many lakes with great numbers of slabs....at least not that Im aware of and there's other fish to target in MI like walleyes, steelies, pike, trout and such. But when I moved to MO it was crappie city, every lake and pond has tons of them. I became hooked on em right away along with catfishing another fish I never targeted in MI. Only ever caught bullheads till MO. One year my dad visited and we caught a bunch and he has never caught one till then and he caught the biggest one I have ever laid eyes on in person. Thing was flippin huge prolly around 3 pounds no joke, it was a toad!! Brother n law caught the second biggest one I have ever seen like 15 mins later. Thing was prolly around 2 pounds. We really were hammering them one slab after the other that August day which just so happened to be my bday the 14th. Lived their five years and man do I miss it a lot. That day we basically fished two down small to medium sized trees with a good amount of skinny branches and just off of those two downed trees I swear we pulled close to 40- 50 crappies, keeping about 20 or so real quality size crapps. I love Missouri it's a great state. Now I have lived in Phoenix, AZ aka Hell for about six years and it sucks ass, haven't caught a single crappie. Those things are such good eatin, wish I could catch em here. I have caught some huge flatheads here though and big channels. And dang you guys are layin the smackdown on some big ol slabbers. Im def jealous lol Everyone is into Bass fishing here. Im not huge into bassin cuz I have caught 100s n 100s of them and I don't keep or eat them ever. #memories

      P85037 L we crappie fish year round. From 30 degrees to 95 degrees we catch them. The only time they are hard to catch is when the wind is out of the East. I don’t know why but they don’t bite when the east wind is blowing. I live in south Alabama .

    Your photo for this video shows really big crappie caught. I didn’t see any crappie like that in this video!! Misleading for sure. Fishing same spot all the time doing catch & release. Catching lots of crappie, but are they the same ones you’ve already caught?? 🤷🏼‍♀️🤭😁

      Im kinda late here but as far as i know when you hook a fish and you release them they wont bite the same bait after 3 days or something like that because everytime they see it they remember the pain

      dave lines that must really suck because in here in Texas people can catch a bunch of crappie with them and lot of places have them plus I'm sure with the fire dye they would be deadly .

    • @PolarisStanley
      @PolarisStanley 6 років тому

      watchman316ly, It works great with Shad. To dye your live minnows properly use 1 full bottle of Fire Dye and 4 bottles of water using the same bottle the Fire Dye came in. For a very vibrant colored minnow let your minnows soak in the Fire Dye for at least 35 minutes and no longer than 45 minutes. I suggest using rubber gloves to keep the Fire Dye from staining your hands. Notwithstanding, if you get your hands stained it washes off easily with soap and water.

    The issue I have from watching without any knowledge about you guys is the "Fire Dye." As a Biology major and avid Crappie fishing gal, I'm concerned about the dye in the water. You mention that it washes right off. However I noticed the dye is collecting by the dock. Has this product undergone freshwater toxicity testing.

    Harnessing any live bait with the hook through the lips will stifle the swimming action of the bait. The best way to harness any live bait is to put the hook through the flesh horizontally just behind the head of the live bait.

    • @mwatkins2464
      @mwatkins2464 7 років тому +2

      Edward Dergosits that will cause the minnow to die pretty fast but thru the lips you don’t hit anything that’s going to kill it. I learned this by fishing for crappie for over 40 years. The minnows swim very well this way !!
