    That has got to be one of your coolest builds yet. When it was going, it was RIPPING! Can't wait to see what's coming next 🤯

  • @aserta
    @aserta 9 місяців тому +38

    Also, as someone else noted, your driving skills have gotten WAY, way better than in the early days. You're taking the corners better, you know when to brake and when to push the vehicle now. Good job man, you're really coming into your own!

    • @konx69
      @konx69 9 місяців тому

      I agree. I think it's a combo though. Driving skills aligned with a better built machine. 😉

      @@konx69he does a great job on all his Build better than a lot of the internet trolls in the comments that haven't ever built a buggy let alone drive one building your own buggy and riding it's way better I've built several buggies been riding 33 year's

    It's really cool to see how the three of us filmed the same things but ended up with very different videos. Some of the same clips were used and you pieced them together in to a cool storyline. Let's do it again soon!

    For stock out of the box, that suspension is not bad! Definitely needs stiffer springs, it got worse the more mud that got caked on. I’d maybe add a turn of compression on the front and maybe 2 in the rear along with the stiffer springs. Looks good and sounds even better.

    Wonderful, a master piece. None the less may is suggest front fenders of some sort.

  • @johnmorgan1629

    Looked like it was handling those jumps like butter smooth, which was like the mud was like driving on butter.

    your driving skills are coming along nicely they are growing along with your builds great to watch keep them coming and have you tried just locking the rear diff while in 2wd it might help a fair bit

    • @peternelson48
      @peternelson48 9 місяців тому +2

      Don't believe he has a rear diff.

    • @briankuhn7396
      @briankuhn7396 9 місяців тому

      There’s no diff. It’s literally solid bar stock. It would be interesting to see a different implemented into a build like this, but just because I want to see how he does it.

    Great idea to shield those primary air filters not only from the rain, but the mud is the bigger issue here

    I would slow down the rebound on the rear looks like its pushing the rear up pretty hard off the jumps. Yep you can really tell the rebound needs tamed on the trail ride camera from the bikes view

    Man this build came out awesome, great job. I hope your next big build is overhauling the VF-1000, it could be your introduction to using a car engine without having to worry about building another frame from scratch

    Dude !!! I’m 53 and have just started building stuff , i bought a lathe , milling machine , press brake , tubing bender hydraulic and manual , drill press , i need the plasma 3d printer thing . I absolutely love all your videos and i think you are one of the best fabricators around !! To be so young and so talented!! I also have a huge mig welder and a tig welder . I’m learning on my own and hopefully i can teach myself. I’m a master plumber so I’m pretty mechanically inclined . Dude that trophy truck is unreal !!

    Thats a great set of runs you had there, but I did notice something you may wish to address Chris, and thats putting boots over your shifter sticks etc to prevent gunk falling into the tunnel, other than that, FANTASTIC!
    I recall your complaining about the mirrors being useless, I can think of two options;
    First: Mudguards!
    Second: maybe using a rear camera mounted just below the rear roof frame and a dedicated monitor to allow "rear view" would help a bit?

    • @JokerInk-CustomBuilds
      @JokerInk-CustomBuilds 9 місяців тому +3

      either that or move the mirrors inside the rollcage in maybe the top corners...

  • @aserta
    @aserta 9 місяців тому +7

    Desperately needs moon buggy style fenders. :)) Good work man, you built a really cool medium sized truck.
    edit: for the chain sections where the chain's too close, you could do what some of the guys in the recumbent bicycle world are doing. Essentially a wedge made out of PTFE that pivots off the center and keeps the chain apart regardless. The shape i most commonly see is akin to those scythe sharpening stones from back in the day.

    Such a sick toy man! Gotta feel great that you designed and built it 100% solo. The rear looks very heavy. Maybe it needs heavier springs or just some valve adjustment? Could be totally wrong, but that's what I can see. Thanks for sharing!

    If I were you Chris I would re-mount the mirrors further up the post to the top of the same post not sure if they are clamped so you can just slide them up the tubes that would be an easy fix by the way the trophy truck is awesome you might want to put some windshields on it and some mudguards that way you will stay nice and clean lol that place sure was muddy but that's half the fun all the best from john from rugby UK.

    This guy for years have been motivating me to save money and start a homemade buggy project, I guess I'm now old enough ( 20 ) to start one!
    I've been watching your videos since 4-5 years ago when me and my friends built a 3 wheel motorized drift bike, but we didn't continue with the project because we had little money and everyone was telling us to stop because it's dangerous and that we would end up in a crash, anyways, I'm now old enough to start my own buggy project, I've learned lots of information from your videos, I appreciate that so much!

    Side note... I love the way you do your build videos by giving a simple explanation of the future footage of you implementing your vision. What you do works, you should be proud. It's a select few that can envision, implement, and also carry out a project like you! 🤙
