Packers fans are blaming it on love im blaming it on Lafleur play calling and NOT getting onto his players for not playing all 4 quarters. And love has no time in the pocket if Lafleur calls better the packers win if they got 3 instead of going for it on 4th packers win anyway a loss is a loss gg

Love was worn and confused by the defense for most of the game. He work hard on the sidelines going over every play until he figured it out.
until he did Matt Lafleur had to call what he could to move the ball.
Matt tried to be aggressive early but it was a disastrous three and out.
Sometimes, you have to give the other team credit for a great game plan. hopefully, we see them in the playoffs because it won't work again.

His playcalling stunk. I was begging LF to call more short, quick stuff to the Wr's and especially TE's but they were set on trying to hit homeruns all game. Minn loves that, it allows them to play their 'are they coming or not' games on defense, leaving GB on their heels most of the game. Not 1 end around, not even 1 to keep them honest at least? Terrible game by LF.

Yeah it was 100% on LaFleur
Love played as well as he could've with the play calling he was given and the poor protection...
Also if that's the best our pass rush can do we won't get far in the playoffs and that's what I'm most concerned about, this might not be our year we clearly need a few more pieces or a hell of a lot of luck to go far in these playoffs, yeah we lost by 2 but we got beaten badly for 3 quarters and 7 points was a gift from an uncharacteristic interception Darnold threw being greedy, we couldn't stop anyone and we're missing a few key players, and Jacobs came back down to earth a bit, feeling shaky about these playoffs to say the least

As a Packers fan, I definitely slept on how damn good the Vikings are so kudos to your organization for putting together such a cohesive team that can dominate on both sides of the ball.
Problem with the Packers is mainly us beating ourselves with sloppy mistakes, stupid penalties, dropped passes, and mis-reads by Love - all turning around very winnable games.
In the first drive, we were easily moving the ball with Jacobs, then we coughed it up and the rest was history. Same thing happened in the second game against the Lions where Watson jumped up and fumbled after a 20+ yard reception. Stop doing dumb shit and we can play in these games.

As a Packer fan we just lost to the better team, however Paul you were correct when you stated that the Vikings have that 5 minute lapse that almost cost them a game which should not have been this close. I definitely think the Vikings can beat a limping Detroit. The Packers were definitely out coached and out game planned as La Fluer couldn't respond to the Viking's defensive matchup on the one on ones. You also were correct when you said the Packers without Christian Watson could be a big loss. Watson opens up both the vertical game and underneath passing lanes for Love, much the same as Jefferson ( who was held in check) opened up the passing lanes for the other successful Vikings receivers. The offensive line for the Vikings should get the game ball on pass protection as Darnold was clean throughout the game. I hope we meet again when Alexander, Walker and Watson are on the field.

In attempt to soothe some of my fellow Packer fans, I want you all to think back to our Super Bowl winning team in 2010. We started the regular season against the Eagles, and then the postseason we upset the Eagles in Philly. We had to take the road route all the way through the playoffs. The winner of the NFC North will get the one seed and the bye and we may well again be the last team in the playoffs starting in Philly. I'd love to go through Philly, and a rival or two (beating the Bears in the NFC Championship that year was at least as satisfying as winning the Super Bowl that year) on the way to the big game. Lets all will history to repeat itself.

Oh yes, Jacob’s fumble was why Love could barely complete a pass and had only 64 yards passing into the 4th quarter…while Darnold passed for 340 yards in three quarters. The problem is that Love made bad decisions and had no confidence to complete passes against this Vikings defense….because he is a terrible QB against playoff caliber defenses and in big pressure filled games. Love is the main problem out there and GB is stuck with him three more years.

I want to point out something I feel is being looked at backwards. If you take a look at the packers allowed points per game this season vs the score, and the points scored per season vs this game. There was a much larger disparity between the defenses performance and their average than the offense and theirs. Furthermore, I disagree that love had a bad game. Key stat for that argument would be 0 turnovers. Our starting running back fumbled the opening scoring drive. At halftime, I recalled the comeback from earlier in the year and thought, this lead isn't a problem at all. Stupid penalties (players fault not refs), drops, and poor ball security cost the packers the win in my opinion.

As a Packers fan, I needed almost a week of hibernation before commenting that I walked away from this game impressed by the Vikings as well. I think that they are probably the best team in the NFC and maybe the NFL.
    1) Sam Darnold is legit. I liked him before the start of the season BUT I didn't realize that he's THIS good. I had my questions about him throughout the regular season being good enough for playoff success BUT he has answered those questions emphatically for me. He is incredibly accurate, a good decision maker, and has the arm strength to make any throw. It just goes to show everyone how important a great situation is for players, especially QBs.
    2) The Packers O-line is really good BUT they were dominated by Flores defense. Granted, the Lions and Eagles O-lines are clearly better, but Jordan Love hasn't been under much pressure this season and yet the Vikings were able to disrupt the Packers passing game with relative ease. Kudos to the Vikings 👏
    3) That offense (Vikings) is hard to stop. The O-line is pretty good and there are SO many receiving options that even if you stop Jefferson you can STILL get beaten by at LEAST 3 other guys (Addison, TJ, Jones out of the backfield, Nailor).
    4) KOC and Flores might be the best coaching staff outside of the Chiefs. I certainly trust them over the Eagles with Siriani. Can someone outside of the NFC North hire Flores as HC please?
The Vikings have the talent and coaching staff to challenge for the Super Bowl. As a Packers fan, I'd rather face the Eagles or the Lions than see the Vikings again. The Lions D is so injured that it gives one hope that they can be beat. The Eagles have the talent, but I wonder about Siriani AND their locker room. Also, the Eagles haven't had 4 games against the Lions and the Vikings. That win against the Steelers looks less and less impressive (The victory against The Ravens does look better now but I still think that the Vikings and Lions are better teams). Has the NFC South and East prepared the Eagles for the playoffs? Granted, the Packers have their own problems, it's just that I can visualize a win against those two teams easier than I can see the Packers beating the Vikings.

@Pr0sacK I’m not one of those. I was one of Love’s strongest supporters at the start of the 2023 season and in the middle of the 2023 season when most Packers fans and other NFL fans thought Green Bay had made a big mistake going with Love. Love is a very good QB. However, I expected him to be significantly better at this point in 2024. I have 3 problems with Love. 1)He is passing less effectively in December 2024 than he did in December 2023. I expected improvement not regression 2)His absurd contract. It was premature and he’s currently not worth 1/3 that amount. Within 2 years it’s going to start harming the Packers because of the salary cap and we’re going to start losing some of our best players. 3)It’s simply a fact that Darnold is a much better QB THIS SEASON than Love. I find that stunning from the vantage point of a year ago. Darnold was 33 for 43 for 377 yards, with 3 TDs and laser focused passing. Love was 19 for 30 for 185 yards and 1 TD.

Credit to the Vikings, they were excellent, as was Darnold. The only concern I think Viking fans should have is their kicker - he looked nervous and could cost you later on in the playoffs or in the Superbowl.
The final scoreline looked close, but it was game over as soon as the Vikings scored on the first drive after half time. Against the best teams the Packers don't start playing until garbage time, which shows they are a pretender, not a genuine contender. Unfortunately it's season over for us as the 7th seed is ridiculously difficult in the NFC this year.
I've said it before, but i was happier after last season's 9-8 than this season's 11-5. Probably because we beat quality teams including the Chiefs, Lions and then the Cowboys. This year we've only beaten bad and average teams.

A Packers fan viewpoint on losing to the Vikings on 12/29/24:
The Vikings have averaged 26.4 points per game this season. The defense allowed them 27, so the missing stars on defense definitely hurt us, but that didn't cost Green Bay the game.
The Packers' have averaged 27.4 points per game, so the offense under performed. However, that observation is undercut by LeFleur's decision to go for it on fourth down instead of kicking the nearly guaranteed 3 point field goal. So, he was expecting a horse race and didn't give his defense enough credit.

ITS NOT LOVES FAULT. EVERY GAME AGAINST A CONTENDER LAFLEUR LEAVES THE GAMEPLAN AND FOLDS. Love had no time and for 3 quarters Lafleur called plays that took multiple seconds to develop. Once love was throwing the ball quickly they started moving the ball and coming back. It’s too late and Lafleur needs to put his big boy pants on and control his team

    • @jackwinter1507
      @jackwinter1507 18 днів тому +1

I kind of agree (also a packers fan). I think Love needs to take a little more initiative in the offensive control; he knows what’s going wrong offensively and should be communicating with LaFleur about everything after every single drive. I really don’t think that a coach like LaFleur wouldn’t notice what was happening consistently until after halftime. However, I would also say that we need Watson back, he is the extreme deep threat that spreads the defense further than they would like. Doubs is great, but he isn’t Watson with deep throws. I also don’t really remember seeing much action with Reed in sweeps this game. Again though, Watson in sweeps is also a threat. I think this game kinda showed that offensively we need all the versatility we can get, when we lose some of it we get kinda predictable.

Either Philly or the Vikings are going to the Super Bowl, barring bad luck in terms of injuries. My Packers are clearly the 3rd best team in the NFC North. The main difference between the Vikings and Packers in this game was that the Vikings receivers caught every ball that touched their hands. The Packers receivers whiffed on every difficult catch. I dont think Love actually had a bad game. Packers lead the league in drops and have 2 receivers (Wicks and Reed) in the top 10 in the league in drops with far less targets than those ahead of them on the list. Doubs is 25th in drops and he's the receiver Packer's fans believe have the best hands on the team. That's going to continue to hurt this team.
