$6 for a push nut sounds expensive (at least to me). Maybe this tip will help. I just cut a slit in the nut and pryed it off and reused it. The slit is enough to release it, but not so bad that it couldn't still hold again. Now if you are in a commercial or critical use application you may want to go for the new one. Just trying to help. Thank you for posting it was a big help to me.
I ended up using a cheap assortment pack of E-Clips from harbor freight. I think I paid $5 for the whole pack of em. There is a good size in there that I was able to use on the axle with pushing it down with socket and hammer
Hay man, thanks. I am a mover. I live in a small town. I was forced to buy the junk that is at home depot. The wheels I got have same initial device holding in. The wheels are real wobbly. It is driving me nuts. I sent you a like and subscribed; because I am surprised there is a video out there like this. That initial nut I could not figure out how to remove....now I know. I noticed the wheel you replaced on dolly is wobbly too. How can you stand to move a dolly with heavy stuff on it; and it goes every which way? It is like a dolly on liter of everclear with those type wheels; and set up. Now you know what I go through, and thank you again sir.
@@DanTheManNetwork Looks like the new wheels you installed were wobbly. I don't get it, that part of it. I am trying to get out of the wobbly dolly syndrome that is commonly occurring. Any advice? This can be a problem when going down a narrow ramp on truck with heavy refrigerator on your dolly on everclear, for real. I need help bro. I sent you a like and subscribed; for I was really surprised someone thought of this. I am a follower now of you Dan the man.
Push nuts vary in style. I've always removed them carefully and reused them. If you understand how they work, you can figure out how to remove and reuse them. I've found them sold at hardware, craft, and auto parts stores .
I wish I had watched before ordering replacement wheels from Amazon. Harbor Freight 10" wheels are definitely a better deal. It seems really weird that push nuts can't be obtained locally, but I sure can't find them. I think that I'll purchase an 8-pack from Amazon, though, for $8.99 rather than two for $5.20.
Buddy why go through all the trouble of buying and looking for a push nut? Drill a 1/8's hole through the stock and insert a cotter pin. It's not rocket science but you make it complicated; keep it simple.
My caps came off easy with a small pry bar. Had trouble with the new push nut until I watched you do it with a socket. So simple . Thanks
I'm glad you got it. Thanks
What size socket?
WOW thanks for the info. Not only on the how but where to get the necessary stuff. I think maybe even I could do it with your info.
Thanks for this upload Dan... Thumbs up from me... Stay safe... Rico
Thanks. I'm glad it helped
shouldn't you put a washer before inserting the push nut? I noticed on mine it has 2 washers and 1 push nuts per tire.
Awesome video bro , thanks
You welcome

Isn't there a tube inside that can be inflated
Yes there is a tube inside
@@DanTheManNetwork I just pumped up my 2 flat dolly tubes. I knew they weren’t bad; just sitting too long.
@@hollywood5703 yes over time that happens
That wheel is flat by now, bet you anything.

Some people can't use power tools simple
Seems like you could also use a screw tightening hose clamp and washer.
