This showed up in my recommendations today and I had to stop and watch. This was shortly before the last time I ever got to see Tom. I was lucky enough to have built somewhat of a friendship with him over the early years of them touring Canada and hanging out after shows. Enough that when I went to the UK for the first time in 2014, he scolded me for buying tickets to the shows I went to and told me "I dont care where in the world you are, you're a friend, you just message me and you're on the list." I met his family and then girlfriend on that trip at their album release show in Brighton. After that trip, there was one more Canadian Architects tour before he got sick again. They played here, I got to the show and Tom ran across the venue when he saw me and gave me a giant bear hug and screamed "WHY THE FUCK IS THERE SNOW IN SEPTEMBER" in my ear. He was genuinely the funniest person I've been lucky enough to know, and his death was so hard to process. Some of the best times of my life were because of him and Architects, and I'm grateful every day that I got to know him in some small way. Wherever you are, Tom - I miss you so much, thanks for everything ❤
This is so wholesome. Truly a tragic loss. Ive only seen them twice, once in 2013 co-headlining with Deftones at a festival, and again in 2018 on the Holy Hell tour and managed to take pictures after the show. Im glad I got to see Tom perform at least once, and Architects to me are the most important band of the 2010s.
So cool to hear him mentioning Eckhart Tolle as his inspirational figure. Carl Sagan's quote from Red Hypergiant got me into science/philosophy few years ago. Same thing with Alan Watts recently. T//S forever, this guy irreversibly changed my life
I've been watching back a lot of old stuff today. This is one of the hardest. It's just so...Tom. This sarcastic but thoughtful but ridiculous but serious Tom, this is who I hope everyone remembers. Also, next time I see someone litter, I'm going up to them and telling them it's punishable by death - by law of one of the most incredible men to ever live.
I try not to do that but I'm guilty. I sometimes do it myself. But because of the legendary Tom complainING about it. It's now burned into my mind. I know I won't do it again or if I do on accident I'll remember those words and pick it up immediately. But I'm working up to quit smoking completely so. Not much more time smoking
Yeah u would rather sit there and talk to Architects ( one of the all time vest bands) sitting there with them and talking to Tom , before that legend passed away. To be able to look back and say I met Tom and had a great moment with him and one of my all time favorite bands Architects.
Of course it would be great seein Dillinger live. Not trying to take anything away. But for me I would of course rather meeting and sitting with architects. And meeting Tom, the fucking legend before he past... just watched the Holy Hell documentary again RIGHT before this, matter fact this video auto played right after. And my grown ass is full emotional right now. Sad...
Damn. I honestly sometimes toss a cig butt. But thank you Tom. I will not litter any cig butt anymore. And I'm also very close to quitting. Been working up for it. I'm giving up smoking ASAP.
+Jason LovesABR It was definitely a surprise to me too, but after seeing how Tom looked in the studio updates for All Our Gods, the thought had always sort of been in the back of my mind. That, and reading the lyrics to Memento Mori really had me worried, but I never could have seen this coming
with you, lol... I just wanted to say that I don't understand people that do not listen to Architects lyrics. What I realy mean is that what got me into them was their lyrics in the first place, their music is great but there's always been a lot of other talented bands and musicians out there... btw over time I became a huge fan of tom's work... lyrics and composition...
So Tom is wearing a Touché Amoré t-shirt.... cuz he wasn't fucken cool enough like that! We're gonna miss you, Tom~ RIP, mate. And thank you for everything!!
wow i cant believe there are only 41 comments. Im also surprised there not all about the political shit. Dude, i a white male from America, and im right wing, more Libertarian, definitely NOT christian tho. I dont think your solutions wouldn't work, but it doesn't matter. I like your music so im going to listen to your music no matter how left wing your are.

If I was anyone involved with this interview, the whole time I’d be like, “...I could be seeing Dillinger Escape Plan right now.”

Fuck, they dropped hints about the cancer and not one of us picked up on it. RIP Tom :/
They were actually pretty open about it.. There was nothing we could do
+Jason LovesABR True, but I feel like they only did that in order to protect their privacy. It makes perfect sense to me
+Jason LovesABR It was definitely a surprise to me too, but after seeing how Tom looked in the studio updates for All Our Gods, the thought had always sort of been in the back of my mind. That, and reading the lyrics to Memento Mori really had me worried, but I never could have seen this coming
wtf you mean bro, architects for me always been about lyrics in the first place
