“Zacian and Zamazenta are competing for 5th” is a WILD sentence
Even wilder, is that you can make an argument that Zamazenta is winning
Zamazenta: bring an ambulance...
*+3 defense body press
But not for me
If you told me this during swsh I’d have laughed in your face
@@mecha5893
Regieleki also fell off compared to Drago. The forgotten legends are finally taking their revenge.
Finally the Sibling Doggos are finally Equal
My mum asked if I cleaned the dishes. I yelled "groudon in reg g". She smiled, she knew there were washed.
Man imagine telling someone during the Gen 6 meta around 10 years ago that in 10 years, Pelipper would be a viable metagame threat and Groudon would not.
Groudon about to become a burger flipper
Nah I’m running groudon with flutter and hisuian liligant, with trick room, indeedee and armourouge
When I realized Koraidon could OHKO Incin with Collision Course even at -1 i slapped covert cloak on it and never looked back to Groudon lol
And you need to beat Incin, because as expected, it’s #1 usage again. Flutter Mane because Frauder Mane.
Yeah who knew having a sun setter double as your pseudo life orb wall breaker is actually good.
I’ve been experimenting with Zacian on ladder and it’s very good. The only issue is really just Incineroar but like it’s not even that big of an issue since most people **love** to spam Incin leads when they see a Zacian so just doing something like Farigiraf + Urshifu is enough to scare it off and pivot a Zacian for free in.
It’s really good rn. I run Sub + Protect with Behemoth and Play Rough and tera fairy. Main reason is that there’s not many fairy resists in the format rn outside of opposing Zacian and tera Fire, however those are very easy to manage when you have options like Ogerpon Wellspring / Urshifu-Rapid. The only issue is Caly-Ice Tera Water/Fire but honestly not even the worst.
Groudon fell off and Zamazenta is actually good in what kind of world are we?
The fact that peliper is legit and groudon can only squeeze out 2 wins really says a lot about society.
2 wins BETWEEN 3 TEAMS
I think the issue is that one of the traits Groudon had that most put it above Koraidon was that it had a positive MU into Miraidon, but with Miraidon being one bad tournament away from handing out water bottles to the good restricteds, Groudon has to join him on the bench.
I am so tired of seeing people say that miraidon loses to groudon because that's just not true
252 SpA Life Orb Hadron Engine Miraidon Draco Meteor vs. 252 HP / 252 SpD Groudon: 168-199 (81.1 - 96.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
Overheat under sun deals the same damage.
You literally just need a little bit of chip damage and you can just one-shot it. Not to mention that not all groudons have that much SpDef so oftentimes you just OHKO it (just make sure to not be under fake-out and have speed advantage)
@@madjester9844
Ah yes, life orb, the item that literally none of the 6 players in the two tournament ran on Miraidon.
That’s also not why it beats it. It’s one of the only Pokémon that can switch into it, and the only sun setter capable is switching into it. It forces Miraidon to play the positioning game, and gives you advantage with terrain by blocking Volt Switch. If it switches into Electro Drift and you don’t have terrain, are locked into specs move, or just don’t run life orb and are running leftovers like every other Miraidon, you have to manually switch out. More has to go right for Miraidon than Groudon.
the fact that we live in a timeline where Zamazenta is considered an almost top 5 mon, better than Groudon and debatably better than Zacian is strangely beautiful to me
I’ve actually been using Zamazenta a fair bit myself and honestly it’s pretty fun
He who shall not be named is CRAZY LOL
I agree that Miraidon is a team building issue.
Honestly, there hasn’t been a format where Electric Terrain has been relevant, so exploring Quark Drive mons has never been viable until now.
We’ve seen a number of sun teams and paradox past paradox Pokémon dominate formats.
I think Miraidon will take a minute to develop the right partners.
If you look at the past success though:
➡️ Iron Hands: AV
➡️ Iron Bundle: Sash (I’m not sold)
---
Newly more relevant now:
✨Iron Moth (Power Herb)
✨Iron Leaves (Very Strong)
✨Iron Valiant (Wide Guard)
✨Iron Juggulis / Thunderus
I think there’s room for Miraidon to develop. It will just take a bit more time. I do agree it would be stronger in a double restricted format.
I also think Tyranitar is really strong on a team with Miraidon to help control the weather.
Kyogre beating the washed allegations
Lets be real, those allegations were so clown act
Even with Miraidon I've gotten beat by a good number of Kyorge teams.
Water spout even resisted is just nothing to play with
Kyogre is the one doing the washing
@@ogeid772vgc chat on showdown had me so pressed. “Wahh Miraidon Raging Bolt Ogerpon will be everywhere Kyogre is so bad.” What are they talking about.
Kyogre? More Kywashedup
You just aren’t seeing the vision of gravity Sandy shocks and Groudon
If sandy shocks had an actually threatening discharge or something that core could actually be great, but sandy shocks just has no offensive presence and barely a support presence, so you can kinda just ignore it and 2v1 the groudon
I’ll do you one better. Hydrapple
Says the Kyogre
You’re not seeing hisuian liligant, with flutter and torkaol with trick room indeedee and armourouge
@@floorglesandy shocks has crazy good offensive. Most players that ignore or going regret it later on.
Regarding Miradon and Quark Drive, there is only 1 Pokemon that doesn't share a weakness to ground, fairy or ice and that is Iron Bundle, every other Pokemon shares a weakness, so it is basically essential to use tera defensively.
This video lives in my head while watching the Indy Regional. People were just building Miraidon wrong...
Agree
11:30 even hinted at it - choice specs with volt switch to keep terrain up with 2.5 support pokemon (Farigaraf, Whimsicott and Rock Ogerpon) and Blood Moon Ursaluna.
@@Savings_and_Grift_Plan From my experience there’s easy counter to that. Thats why my Miraidon don’t use choice specs but still use volt switch.
Groudon is a haki man
Deep cut joke
252+ SpA Choice Specs Kyogre Black Paint Spout (150 BP) vs. 240 HP / 0 SpD Groudon in Rain: 1104-1298 (275.3 - 323.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO. My Glorious King mid diffs Red Scaled Groudon
A haki man? A fighter who relies on haki? Like every other shitmon in Reg G?
@@Cstan55157No it’s different with Groudon he is Haki specialist
The fall of Groudon and Miraidon’s rough start could make way for other restricteds like Zamazenta, Ho-oh, Kyurem-White and Solgaleo to rise in usage just a little bit. Rip Zekrom though. Outclassed by two same type pokemon introduced on the same gen, one of them not being a restricted, and ignoring base forms its the worst restricted.
Mewtwo is worse since its base typing and signature move are worse. Zekrom you can at least make do something (not much), even though it’s heavily outclassed by Miraidon.
@@Altered999 mewtwo is faster, hits harder and has more coverage. It isn’t forced to run clear amulet. Zekrom is significantly worse. Outclassed by Miraidon. And I’d say Raging bolt is just better than Miraidon.
@@giancarloandretorresguzman7717 mewtwo hits harder only in psychic terrain with eforce because it has a relatively mediocre signature move. At that point, you’re considering partners, which means you must consider defiant/competitive partners for Zekrom. Both then become tied in that department.
As for coverage, Mewtwo is heavily reliant on its coverage since it only has one stab. Zekrom rarely needs any coverage since it has two stabs that complement each other. Zekrom wins out in that department.
If you’re considering alternatives, Mewtwo is also outclassed by iron crown as a nonrestricted due to the latter’s higher speed with booster, which is arguably far more important into the current metagame. It’s also obviously outclassed by Calyrex as a restricted, which plays 98% of roles better than Mewtwo. Both Zekrom and Mewtwo are tied in that department.
Stat-wise, Mewtwo is indeed faster, but it’s not fast enough to outspeed common threats. Zekrom is slower, but compensates by being bulkier. Mewtwo does technically have a higher effective BST…by 10 points, if you can consider that a win.
The only category where Zekrom is expliclty worse is item usage. As you mentioned, it’s forced to run amulet, whereas Mewtwo can run anything it likes. Mewtwo definitely wins in this department.
I suppose this is a moot point that I’ve brought up, though. Neither can be seriously considered by any competitive player this generation.
I play Zekrom a lot, i argue it is better than bolt but the opposite can be said, Mewtwo is definetely worse, Zekrom has better typing, STABs, movepool (remember it gets Dragon Dance, fusion bolt and bolt strike can hit like a truck even without ddance), ability, only worse with item, Zekrom has to run amulet and mewtwo has more items it can use, although Zekrom is outclassed by Miraidon for sure mewtwo is outclassed by a ridiculous amount of psychic types, Calyrex shadow/ice, crown, armarouge, lunala, dawn wings, iron crown, etc. So i think zekrom is better overall
Fraudon
4:02 hearing that sentence hurt. I lost to one of the scummiest players in Casual (since Reg G still isn’t out yet for SV) because I missed two Precipice Blades in a row. I only needed one to connect and knock out their Urshifu-RS so I could focus down their Amoonguss and win. And this is after a game where I managed to have Groudon survive Astral Barrage by Sucker Punching an Annihilape’s Final Gambit for the win with Chien Pao
I've been having success and fun with Miraidon as a bulky calm mind Mon with Parabolic Charge.
edit: I got interrupted, so I'll finish my comment now.
With a single Calm Mind, plus Electric Seed, it can take an unboosted hit from anything in the format. I've been playing around with the team since I started using it, but the focus has always been on pairing it with stuff that can support its setup. You also want stuff that is either immune to electric or doesn't mind taking a Parabolic Charge. I found Scarf Thundurus-T to be a solid pairing with it, since with Volt Absorb, you're healing 1/4 hp every time Miraidon uses Parabolic Charge. If you deal with the stuff that can threaten them, the combination of Thundurs's insane SpA and Miraidon at +1 or +2 years through nearly everything.
Bonus: Amoongus works really well with this team, since it can heal itself and Miraidon up and redirect for the setup. Since Miraidon wants to be on the field to maintain its boosts, too, Amoongus can even provide Spore support.
Doesn't Electric Terrain prevent Sleep?
@@FutureOverYou Yes. But like I said, Miraidon wants to sit on the field and not switch, so usually Terrain isn't as important. The team focuses on enabling Miraidon to set up and sweep, meaning longer games so terrain doesn't stay for long. Spam Rage Powder until it goes, then use Spore.
I’m a lunala believer, I think it’s always better than people give it credit for but it’s never gonna be the meta
Dawn Wings will save us
lool Miraidon with soak mon, soak all the opponents mons electro drift away
I 100% agree with Miriadon being best on balance, I’ve been running Miriadon for a while and found that if you just treat it like rillaboom, in that terrain isn’t your win con but is nice to have for your supporting pokemon, you not only play better but have a better team.
I’m not gonna take the iron jug slander tho as while sharing the weaknesses does suck, fast snarl, fast tailwind and accurate (mostly) flying stab is very good and that dark typing comes in handy against shadow rider
I will also agree that you need to run booster on it, as it jsut gives you so much more flexibility. Your able to lead without Miriadon, and you can always pivot out knowing you can get your speed back with terrain
Ps. Entei is cracked with Miriadon as well. Jug handles the dark typing so you don’t really need incin and while not having fake does suck, being able to do tons of damage, going Tera normal for Shadow rider and extreme speeding it as 9/10 jug makes it Tera is very nice. Haven’t seen the entei love from other team builder and ppl are rrly sleeping on entei in tail wind
Entei has found its way onto most of my Reg G teams. Inner focus and sacred fire is such a good combo, and with assault vest it is so dang bulky
“No cursing on Moxie’s channel”
The comment section Ah ********************
Edit: I might as well insert an opinion. Iron moth is the play for a miraidon assist since u now have something to beat flutter. No other quark drive just moth
That just makes your team even more weak to ground types. One Landorus Incarnate Sandsear Storm is all it takes.
@@ravus9935you could make moth tera flying or put a sash/air balloon on it since you don’t need the boaster anymore

I KNEW Koraidon would be good, they called me mad, they called me crazy, BUT LOOK AT MY LITTLE LIZARD NOW!
Pelliper is a menace. Miraidon is nowhere to be seen.
Somehow those two sentences coexist.
On the subject of Kyurem-White, I was interested in it for a bit but I think Caly-Ice outdoes it. Blizzard spam sounds nice until you realize Caly-Ice gets a stab ice move with the same BP and doesn't even need snow to hit, not to mention it's attack being nearly as high as Kyurem's Sp. Attack. Yes, Kyurem is faster, but I honestly prefer a low speed tier that can lean into trick room over a middling one. And yes, snow gas benefits beyond Blizzard spam, but Caly-Ice can get those too. Maybe the format will change and prove me wrong but I am not a believer in Kyurem at all.
TBH, the biggest benefit of Kyurem W is that it can’t be intimidated and has better coverage (because it has Earth Power and Dragon Stab, plus Fusion Flare is alright), but it’s not worth the loss in bulk, especially when double intimidate cores aren’t anywhere near as popular as in SwSh, not to mention the popularity of Koraidon and Pelliper
Snow is just by far harder to use than rain or sun, and the benefits just arent as great. This is extra apparent in a format where sun is so good because you are playing weather wars against a type that you do little into and it does supereffective into you, so even "winning" the weather war for a turn doesnt even really help you
Also kyurem white pretty much requires snow while caly ice really doesn't
@@superdolphin440
Not just doesn’t require snow, it’s even good on rain teams
@@Endershock1678 pelipper the goat
This is proof TPC wants you to buy scarlet
I’ve tried Groudon + exeggutor gravity and skill swap. To enable Groudon, it works well, but it is a lot of commitment when comparing how other legendaries don’t need extra teammates to enable it, and therefore have more slots open
I think the thing with Miraidon, is that it should be leaned into the idea that it completely walls Amoonguss and sleep as a whole
Shoutout to the person who brought Miraidon, Drifblim, and Iron Val and got 86th.
Rillaboom or Indeedee comes in on that and their life is ruined.
He got the farigaraf guy
Hi
I honestly think groudon and miraidon are getting Early reg f incineror treatment where people think they are bad but they will pop up crazy in actual tournaments.
Murkrow gives Miraidon speed control along with bundle. Get a Farigiraf to counter priority and Trick Room, and add a ground type for either TR or Wind, like Rhyperior or Lando
Then add incin, obviously. And u can swap out bundle for an ogerpon form if your heart desires.
Oh no, Groudon got the cheese touch
I’m a Kyurem-w believer. Tera ice choice specs blizzards hit so hard and the changes to snow, with the addition of aurora veil, make it bulkier than ever. Pair it with redirection and healing and it can stick around for a long time. It also gets a pretty crazy amount of coverage. Blizzard/freeze dry/earth power/Draco meteor hits pretty much anything you need to
Sad to see Iron Hands be so displaced...
The other commentators on this video are extremely hard to hear, even at max volume.
Why is iron hands not good next to miraidon?
Fluttermane mostly
Take what I say with a grain of salt, but especially with the rise of Caly S and a bunch of special attack mons, but considering the huge amount of Ghost spam that might be present in Reg G, there is a very huge possibility we will see a return to form of Ting Lu, with a swap from Tera poison to tera fairy
Yo, Groudon, Koraidon, Torkoal eternal sun.
The Miraidon part aged really bad really quickly
Groudon is strugglinh because it just doesn't have it's totally balanced Primal form because Game Freak isn't marketing Megas at the moment.
I'm not counting groudon out until there's more official tournaments.
This was straight slander. My buddy Clefairy makes sure my p blades never miss.
“Frog watch”
I've been using Groudon on Showdown Room tournaments and early on was doing well. But lately, he's been missing like half of the P-Blades and now I'm thinking of trying Koraidon
Can’t get enough of these daily vids!
Surprised assault vest groudon wasn't mentioned
Ik it's intimidate food but if u pair it with coaching Lilligant you fix every issue it has
Even Brian Hands couldnt save Miraidon?
And im trying to get a Solgaleo team myself.
I locked on to pelipper for my caly-ice team very early in the format. Wide guard is always good in restricted formats, and it’s strong into incin and rilla. It’s also good in the caly-ice mirror, as it walls calyrex and beats mienshao. I’m bringing it almost every game.
This fraud gets mogged on by garganacl btw
Torn/Urshi, Chi-yu/Flutter, slap a Miraidon/ Bundle on it
I feel like miraidon might work on a bliz spam team with ANinetails and Bundle
I played about 50 games with groudon, changing it up every 10 games or so. Still I was getting like a 30% win rate... Pblades missing cost me soooo many games. Like, I feel like bleakwind storm never misses so I thought it would be fine but Pblades just chooses the worst time to miss every time
I'm still a ride or die on the duo of Kyruem Black and Quash Murkrow. It's a funny gimmick, yes, but nobody expects it
I’m running groudon, hisuian liligant, flutter mane, torkaol, indeedee and armourouge. I can go trick room or speed. They aren’t running groudon very good to me.
Ik too early, but yall should do the opposite and make a honest worker list. Stuff like mien, Pelipper, Iron hands Etc.
I did not know zamazenta could be top 5 interesting I guess I have good judgement to build a team around it.
Ladies and Gentlemen, a quick question if you will: would it be a poor choice to run base spectrier next to another restricted mon? Are there nuances I'm not understanding? I'm genuinely curious.
Feel like groudon suffers from being the only restricted on a team, if there was 2 he could pair as a good defensive sun setter, but it's hard to justify running him over Kora when theres only 1 slot.
mox turn your ass down dawg i have to switch volumes every other sentence😭
You'd think audio balance wouldn't be such a foreign concept.

Dipplin with eviolite am I coping
I run max spdef max hp assault vest, heavy slam, heat crash, fissure, bodypress groudon
At this point just play ting-lu instead and a restricted that does actual damage
Try Hydrapple! Supersweet Syrup could help
Miraidon has the same energy as Ursaluna hisui
Before the format starter, everyone was hyping up their damage, but upon first contact with the format just crumpled in practice
Groudon with P blades/earthquake, iron head/heavy slam, heat crash, thunder punch/ rock slide. With an assault vest and full attack and HP EV’s. This thing wrecks
throw in thunder punch but not fire punch? rude
Thunder Punch, Iron Head, and Rock Slide are mid to useless on Groudon. It gets STAB on none of those attacks, and the Pokemon you're trying to counter will either go down to Heat Crash or kill Groudon immediately. Thunder Punch from Groudon is not going to kill a well-trained Kyogre, Rock Slide is super inconsistent and low impact, and Heavy Slam will not kill Calyrex Ice. Flutter Mane dies to Heat Crash, too. Assault Vest isn't good on Groudon in Reg G. It just becomes Incineroar food and still loses to Kyogre in the rain. Groudon can't really leave any impact on the game without Protect and/or Swords Dance.
I'll show you fraud
Aw man im such a big groudon fan and was so excited to finally get into competitive and built an awesome groudon sun team and now he's bad? Is there any other options? I use my groudon as a support guy with some punch personally and I've been getting great results
I've been running groudon with AV entei and Chien-Pao on showdown in testing. It's been going pretty well for me but I've only reached like sub 1400 so far. Maybe not good enough for tournaments but definitely good enough for master ball tier on switch.
The disrespect is crazy. I will rep my boy Groudon, who wants it?

Ayoooo that’s my groudon team! I’m Luckstat10 lol only didn’t win more bc I fell asleep during the tournament 😬😬
Say less
Where does these tournament take place cause i would love to play in those 😭
Honestly with Mairaidon I don’t even think it’s a teambuilding issue. Like even ignoring quark drive. Miraidon is disadvantaged because unlike weather setters your only other setters are Pincurchin and Thunderus as the most viable. Couple that with the fact that for dragon stab it’s either dragon pulse or Draco meteor. One move that doesn’t always kill and one move that actively debuffs you when you’re trying to play hyper offensive. Like yeah D-gleam Tera fairy is nice but let’s compare it to Koraidon because it’s similar but with sun. Koraidon has a 3rd stab and a base 120 move that only deals recoil not an attack nerf. Meanwhile Miraidon has all of these things I mentioned already against it. Koraidon can be paired with Torkoal, Tornadus, and so many other sun setters that are more viable partners than what Miraidon has for electric terrain setters. Koraidon is still doing big damage without the sun because all of its moves are high in damage except breaking swipe or dragon claw if you’re not banded. Miraidon isn’t doing much if you take terrain away because it loses that 30% boost and if it meteors an incorrect mon on the switch you’re forced to swap anyway. Miraidon is a good mon but in this meta, gamefreak didn’t give it the proper tools for it to play the hyper offensive role it wants to play like they have with Koraidon
anybody know the name of the beat starting at around 11:10?
How do you expect me to not curse AND have fun?
Can't believe you forgot rule 3 like and subscribing
Xerneas and Yveltal would've loved this meta 😢
I think Miraidon just doesn't make sense... Because it's unique qualities doesn't really give him anything cool to use that isn't making the team wonkier, if you can't really use Miraidon's unique qualities, at that point just use Calyrex Shadow instead.
First 😁
Tbh those Groudon teams that were represented in the tourney were booty cheeks
