1968 Buick Wildcat 430 V8! Will it Run After Sitting for 10 Years + 63 Chevy Wagon BACK ON THE ROAD!

- This 1968 Buick Wildcat was bought out of a small town in Kentucky a few months back by my friend Dave and has been sitting in his driveway, waiting for parts to arrive to put this awesome car back on the road! The 430 Buick V8 produces a ton of power and being in a 4 door hardtop, has a cool factor that cant be beat. In addition, our 1963 Chevy Belair wagon that has been off the over since 1981 finally moves again under its own power and will be back on the road for someone to enjoy!

That Buick will run, maybe forever!...My Dad put 24 years, and over 300,000 miles on his 67 wildcat 430V8...It was incredibly reliable and long-lasting.
Nice to see Felix inspecting the 1963 wagon.
Haha he is making sure no mice got smuggled in!
Yes, but what about that Buick wagon on the trailer? It looks killer! Meow to Felix, he'll know what it means.
Check out the video a few weeks back when we put an engine in the 63 wagon, i highlight the 59 buick
I most certainly will! @@IowaClassicCars
Your cat is doing a great job cleaning the interior and hunting for any rodents!! Good kitty!!! Nice station wagon!
Thanks!
I have a 1966 Wildcat Custom Sport. I have the Nailhead 425 and love these cars!
Some cool old cars I like the 59 Buick wagon sitting on the trailer
i showcased it more a few videos back!
@@IowaClassicCars I remember.
The Wildcat is actually the middle of the line with the Electra 225 being the top dog, as you called it.
yea it definitely was the top of the line performance wise though :D
Look at Ryan convincing cars to run ! And the wagon with no tailgate looks like some kind of beach cruiser
My Grandparents had a '69 Electra which had 430 also. Same basic block as the later 455.
Oh that 63 wagon !!!! So nice . 430 cubes Buick. Is also so nice , well done sir ! You just made my Friday!!!
New cars these days are most certainly outclassed in the cool factor category by vintage Detroit iron like your 63 Chevy wagon and your buddy's Buick Ryan. A big thumbs up to both. 👍
thanks john!
Sounds good considering! The wagon sounds good also!
my grandpa had a '63 Biscayne wagon...same color as this one, might have had a gray interior and did not have a padded dash. also radio delete, and an I6 with 3 on the tree. i think the only option was a heater. i wear a bit of that car to this day, as when as a kid i was sitting at the far back (when no one cared when you did that kind of thing) and my dad was driving and hit the brakes hard and i flew forward and cracked my forehead against the metal edge of the back seat...scarred up pretty good! not the car's fault tho
ouch!
That wildcat wants to run so badly. Reminds me getting my fords running especially the falcons and mustangs
itll run, we have fresh parts on the way!
Love those Chevy wagons
Excellent video Ryan :) also on 1968 Buick Wildcat with 430 V8 also when on starter on 2 small post did hook one + for also one for coil to should 2 + wires and okay on ground battery post connector clamp is small pigtail to fender ground to fender connector rust up need be rust free with washer plus connector too! Also check on brake booster in firewall check if diamond shape with power connector to not corssion too up or rust! Plus key ignition switch may be corrosion on connectors clip plus tumbler may need some pentriotion fluid to on teeth conntacts or dirty in there!
ill check all those areas out!
@@IowaClassicCars no problem Ryan :) also on my suggestion help 👍 out!
Ryan, while you kept adjusting dwell I was wondering if you had just not filmed popping the distributor cap and cleaning the points, rotor, and inner contacts of cap. Seems that's always top of the list when trying to fire up a long dormant engine. As long as points are clean, gap (dwell) doesn't have to be precise. Spring's around the corner, Buddy!
we didnt this time around, wanted to see if it would fire before opening it up, and to our surprise it did!
Hey Ryan love your videos but one comment I'm not sure what you were adjusting when you were using your dwell meter but a dwell meter tell you how long the points are closed compared to the cam. Just thought you should know
That may very well be my grandfather's old wildcat that he bought new when my dad was 4 years old. It is in the same area where it went when he sold it to buy a wagon once my aunt and uncle were born. Same colors, same engine, and all. I am really curious now.
Wild! Email me ill put you in touch with current owner
WILDCAT!!!!!!!!!!!
Love both car's, your phone was fine Don't worry so much 😅
thanks man, gopro next week!
Mr. B. Here ! 👀😎👍. Love ❤️ to see that Buick, was in military school a buddy of my his dad had one and it was so cool to be in this land yacht what a ride . I see the vehicle inspector was on duty . Cool cat ! Great video !

I know of a 1959 elcamino for sale in Michigan.
Hey are you still selling that 1964 impala I’m 14 but I want a classic at 15. I love that 1963 bel air wagon.
The 64 just sold. I have a nice builder 62 chevy ill sell you cheap. Email me if youre serious. Id love to see you get into fixing cars!
Really nice Buick!
for sure!
Tell me why the ‘63 wagon had six round taillights like the sedans but in ‘64 each side had only a tiny rectangle, completely different than the sedan.
Just how gm wanted it i suppose
Backfiring through carb from a stuck valve possibly ?
that could be
Hey, I have a question. Do you know anybody with a front clip for a 1959 el camino for sale?
How much is the Belair wagon?
13,500
The starting issue could be the neutral safety switch possibly on the steering column? Those mid 60s GM cars had real issues with the neutral safety switches going out and breaking and not letting you start it! Not sure if you got it figured out by the time you get my comment, but if not, maybe you could look into that.
we will check that out @@RicheySynthetics
