As a Mexican born in Baja. I didn't know about the baja shirt. I don't see them wearing those as regular clothes when I visit my relatives. Anyways, we call everything a poncho. The first garment we call sarape, or sometimes poncho.
@@RonBarlowCanada Yes, "Baja shirts" are still worn in California by surfer dudes, skater girls and others. As for ponchos and sarapes, neither has a "hole cut in it". A poncho is made of two pieces (two blankets), sewn at the center with a slit left for the head. A serape (sarape or zarape, in Spanish) has no hole or slit, just a wrap-around garment. Sarape as a piece of clothing represents a people (con orgullo). Mi familia en Zacatecas tenia la indistria de tejer sarapes :)
im here because I am interested in the garment after having seen a south american ranch hand sporting a thick animal skin as a legit poncho - it was the coolest thing i've seen in some time.... I would like to have learned more from you about what a poncho is, what they are used for, what they are made out of and then I would have liked to hear about your company that sells these, what types of ponchos you sell (the last thing I want is a JAMAICAN pattern horse blanket) and some contact information... this would do your company and this page well for marketing purposes
