Now you know why Arthur Rice is the Boss and Lead Singer he can hold his notes the longest it should be so easy by now after all these years what a voice so powerful. WOW
Mmhmm. Seems like Jim Hamill might not have liked him very much. I know that people kid around with each other, and it's all in good fun. However, if you listen to Jim Hamill's introduction on the live album from 1985, known as Better In Person, seems like Jim Hamill was (So to speak) really raking poor Arthur over the proverbial coals! He even said what he did, about the conversation that he, and Eldridge Fox, the OWNER of the Kingsmen Quartet, had about Arthur Rice. He even said that he hung up on his Boss! Then, fearing that he might literally lose his job over that, called his Boss back, and lied to him, about hanging up on him! Some of Jim Hamill's own words concerning Arthur, were:"Just the very look of him MADE ME MAD! In everything that Jim Hamill said on that particular recording, I can only HOPE that he was just kidding around. In late 1988, when Arthur Rice was getting ready to sing a song called"Jesus is coming for me ", Jim Hamill was at it again! Calling Arthur"Ol' dummy", and even saying that (& these are his own words!!!), "I ain't never liked him none", Jim Hamill still persisted on giving Arthur Rice a hard time. He even went as far as to say:"I never even wanted Arthur in the Group...but he and Ray Dean Reese, our Bass Singer, are Cousins. Ray even told me that, if Arthur wasn't allowed to be in The Kingsmen Quartet, that he'd leave, too"! As I said, I realize that Jim Hamill had a huge funnybone, and he loved to have fun, as the Emcee of The Kingsmen Quartet...but, to this day, I wonder as to just how much of what he said was just joking around, and having fun...and how much he really meant, when he said that he didn't like certain people, such as Arthur Rice. As for the clip that I was talking about, the entitled "Jesus is coming for me", it's right here on UA-cam. You can check it out for yourself, and make your own judgement(s).
Hard to believe it, but other than Andy Stringfield, who not only plays Piano, but also does a great job at singing Baritone (When needed), none of these Gentlemen are even in The Kingdom Heirs anymore. Billy Hodges, the Tenor, left in either 2010 or 2011, and was replaced by Jerry A. Martin, who was the Tenor for the Group until 2021. He was replaced by Jacob Ellison, who was with The Kingdom Heirs until earlier this year (2023), then he was replaced by Josh Horrell, here recently. As for Arthur Rice, he left The Kingdom Heirs last year (2022), and is now involved in Music Ministry where he attends Church. Loren Harris had been singing Baritone for The Kingdom Heirs since 2016, which is when he joined The Kingdom Heirs, but switched over to being the Lead Singer, after Arthur Rice left last year. Steve French sadly committed suicide back in 2016. He left The Kingdom Heirs in 2014 or 2015, for personal reasons. Jeff Chapman is no longer singing Bass with The Kingdom Heirs. He left them just last week, and joined Gold City as their Bass Singer. A Gentleman by the name of Burman Porter has joined the ranks of The Kingdom Heirs as their newest Bass Singer. I truly wish this newest edition of The Kingdom Heirs the best. Let's see what happens from here.....
wow that lead singer is good, I see he took on the high note there at the end and the tenor just stuck to the leading note. LOL very good talent and group.
That lead singer is Mr. Arthur Rice! He's been with the Kingdom Heirs since 1995. He played Bass Guitar and sang with the Kingsmen Quartet from 1984-1989. He's easily one of the top lead singers that you'll ever have the pleasure of listening to.
Joseph Livengood actually billy took the baritone note and Andy took lead so Arthur could take the tenor, quite impressive, obviously Jeff stayed on bass bc he’s the best bass there is rn!!!!!
I think Arthur Rice is one of the great lead singers but I've never understood the fascination with his long hold note....it does nothing for me. But he is one of my favorite lead singers. The group sounds great here!
Byyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy-"Get away from me"!-yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy the bright & shining river, far away! I love stuff like this!
These guys are amazing. I think this may be my favorite song on youtube, I know I'll probably get a lot of hate for that comment, but its true.
Now you know why Arthur Rice is the Boss and Lead Singer he can hold his notes the longest it should be so easy by now after all these years what a voice so powerful. WOW
Did anyone else notice how SMALL of a breath Arthur took before his super long note?? Holy cow!! haha
I LOVE YOU GUYS AND HOPE TO SEE YOU AT CHRISTMAS OR NEXT YEAR SOMETIME!

HAHAHAHA, THEY'RE THE BEST!
fun.
Arthur Rice is technically a second tenor.
yes, most southern gospel quartet “lead singers” fall under the second tenor category.
@@brandenblackwell9116 most definitely.

Arthur Rice is one of the best in the field today...

Sam Central Jeff has great range, but he definitely sounds best singing those notes that are “down in the basement.”
The cats got some air

gotta make it interesting/fun other than that it is plain
