We were there in August 2021 and at the southern tip the bull reds were so thick our baits were hit before we could get rods in the rod holders. Coming back this August to target big sharks from shore.

Great video! My son will be fishing Georgetown and its estuaries in September. He is only looking for bass...LM or spot.
Appreciate any tips on where. Needs to access from ramp in Georgetown.
    Thanks much!

We went down to the North Inlet area on our boat, but wasn’t sure of the depth so didn’t risk it. Any idea of how deep it is?

    Hi Mack
Many thanks for sharing this as well as Pawley's Island video!
My family and I will be vacationing down in Garden City in just about 2 weeks. Any tips for August fishing (we are usually down in June or October)? If you had the choice would you fish Murrells Inlet, Pawleys, or DeBordieu in mid August? I mostly have fished the surf in garden city, huntington, the jetty at Murrells, and Murrells tidal creeks from a kayak. Caught about a 40inch bull red in the surf one year (2 weeks after a big storm) on menhaden chunk. Didn't take time to measure before getting back into the water but that was great experience.
    Thanks again!
    Jon

Hey Mack! Kentucky boy here...so not much knowledge on coastal fishing. Im heading to Debordieu next week and getting married next weekend there. I'm definitely going to hit up Alligator Alley to try to reel in some largemouth bass. Ok to use typical soft plastics? What would you recommend? Thanks!

Congrats Mitchell! My wife and I got married here almost 20 years ago. It’s a beautiful venue.
I reel in the large mouth all day long on Crankbait here. Baby bass and bluegill lookalikes. 2-4’ dive depth.
My buddies have had plenty of luck on soft plastics: swimbaits and large worms, as have I on occasion.
Hit up the ponds on Monday when the course is closed. Just about every pond here is stocked up with some hogs! Tight lines! 🎣

    Hi Mack,
We also have a house in DeBordieu. Do you do any Fly Fishing? If so where are good access points and spots without a boat? Eventually, I hope to pick up a skiff when I have more time to fish!

Hey Ken, awesome! On a high tide, I would try the marsh side of the golf cart path and even the main road on the landbridge. Reds, etc go way up to the end of the marsh on high tides from my experience. Befriending someone with a dock is a great solution too haha. The public dock doesn’t usually produce. Too many dead, gutted fish in the water usually from the cleaning station. Tight lines! 🎣

How do you get into DeBordieu ?

    • @mackrobertsonfishing6213
      @mackrobertsonfishing6213  3 роки тому +1

Hey Richard, DeBordieu is a private community. I have a home here. But, the fishing in DeBordieu is pretty much the same as all surrounding areas like Pawleys Island, Murrells Inlet, Litchfield, etc.
Some anglers with boats coming out of Georgetown will come to North Inlet, but there are so many creeks in the area they will usually not come into these exact creeks. For the most part, the same fish, same spots, tactics etc exist in the entire low country. Tight lines! 💪

Hi Mack, I mostly fish Murrells Inlet, new to the area, if you are every looking for a fishing partner I have a 18’ CS .

Awesome, welcome to the low country! I fish murrells every once in a while. Thanks for the offer and I may give you a shout 💪
I’ll try to do an overview of some of my spots up there and get it published as well.
Went out this morning and red bite was back on. Drifting the outgoing tide and they were firing along the banks. Artificial shrimp and cut shrimp on jigs and under a cork.

I have always wanted to kayak fish hobcaw with my kayak. Wish there was a way for me to not use winyah bay to get there. Lived here my whole life and I don't know anyone that lives in deb.
