if you read the details of monitors it will say that a monitor will have say 2ms gtg and what gtg stands for gray to gray. So the response time on a monitor doesn't determine how fast your character in game will move at the push of a button but what it does determine is how fast a pixel can go to black and back to grey (gtg) . Now input lag determines how fast your character moves in game at the push of a button. So yes they both matter but input lag is more important if you play FPS's.
Is the screen you game on a monitor or t.v.? Also what kind, I couldn't find actual t.v.'s response time, only on gaming monitors. Thanks and nice setup.

What would be the best way to connect to LIVE at university? Was wondering because I have a funny feeling it will be laggy
Mine is the Asus VH236H with 2ms response time and it has a gaming mode that lightens up the dark spots so you can see people hiding in dark corners and stuff. Its a great monitor. It used to be the MLG monitor but the BenQ took its place I think. I made a setup vid about the monitor, you dont have to watch it if you dont want to, but I go into more detail about
