This man changed my life. I’ve mourned his death since his going to God. I pray for his family, such a loss. I bet he’s had some amazing conversations with Melchizedek , Paul, David, etc.
Tears have come to my eyes over our loss of him. When I learned, it was months afterward and it took me by complete surprise; though I knew about his diagnosis, somehow I had just imagined he'd pull through. At least it's temporary, our loss of him.
God has no favorites. He treats all the same. Some people have more knowledge but that does not impress God. It can please Him but He has no favorites in heaven. He is the Almighty God the Creator of All.
Every time I listen or read one of his books I am more and more excited about my Bible. I am ever thankful he listened to God and chose to step out and share with us common folk the things scholars already knew. I will always be thankful for his boldness and courage. YHWH is the specific reference to the Most High. God, as a word, Heiser is showing us could be different Hebrew words and even those Hebrew words have a very general meaning, such as Elohim.

Dr Michael Heiser: My beginning as a child of YHWY was confusing.... we were military and at 2 yrs old polio struck. My parents were overwhelmed; I was admitted to Wm Beaumont Hospital then when stable placed with wonderful Catholic sisters. I lived with them for a few years until we transferred to Wisconsin. I attended a private school for a year then we moved to eastern Washington state for 3 years. I wore leg braces until 9 years old. I was always surrounded by the attentive sister Nuns and the Church and Scripture. Mass everyday at 11am and HOLY Scripture. Alcohol was often in the picture during the military life in the 1950s -1960s.... Somehow I knew the God was watching over me, the sisters were a constant stable influence. I remember telling the sisters that my parents didn't follow ANY of the Commandments. They said Father God loved me so and with a heart for GOD I would help others....
PS: I love hymns of all kinds but especially loved a Gospel song 🎵 "Oh Happy Day"....years later while experiencing many months of decimated NOLA the song 🎵 was uplifting by numerous people; I enjoyed Mahalia Jackson and other Christian ✝️ singers.

Dr Mike has arrived in Heaven. I bet he’s not resting in peace. The Lord greeted The Good Dr and said let’s roll we’ve got a few things to accomplish. All kidding aside he changed the way I studied and viewed Gods Word. I’m forever grateful to him and someday I will see him in heaven. His family will remain in my prayers. My heart hurts for them.
The flaw in Christian thinking is there are actually people who depend on voting as a quality-control, & don't have any desire for leadership having one foot in fantasyland.
Here's the way I view the Lord God allowing His council to make suggestions. I love my sons, I want to teach them things in this life. And, I want to know that they know, how to think for themselves and to minimize mistakes when they act. So, when we're working on or planning something. Even though they're young, I will ask their opinion on what they would do, or what they think I should do. Even though I know what has too be done and the best way we should do it. I want their contribution, so if need be, I can teach them why that might not be the best bet. And sometimes, do something how they suggest, if just to show by example why it will not be the right answer, or show them that in fact they were right. But, no matter what, I'm there with them as their "safety net". I just want them involved and growing. I believe that, God, being our Heavenly Father and Creator is where we get these types of attributes. It's not hard to believe that He does this with His Heavenly spiritual family, the ones that are faithful to Him.
God said through Solomon is that nothing under the sun has changed. The things going on back in biblical times are going on today. His word transcends time. The same needs today existed then. In Churches and in the World. God has written His love letter for and to all of Abraham's descendents that outnumber ther amount of stars.
I just watched a video where Heiser first admits the the Book of Enock was not written by Enoch and could not have been but the rest of the video he talks about the book as it was written by Enoch 100 percent and tells us how Enoch wanted us to understand this and that.
There is deception in heaven. As Jesus said the heavens suffer violence! And they take it by force. The deceptions are in the way and the paths, The casting ups or the going down. The court without & 42 months described in Revelation is the same as the word for sheepfold in John 10. I think the day of the dead all the veils are down. Time is ended in Revelation 10:5-6. The mystery of God is finished at that time. All can hear the warnings and the trumpets, on earth, in heaven, and beneath the earth. He quotes God as saying Isaac is his only son. Here’s the full verse. New International Version Then God said, “Take your son, your only son, whom you love-Isaac-and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain I will show you.” Why wouldn’t he tell us that it says only son that he’s loves? Anyone who changes Gods own words cannot be trusted
God was referring to Isaac the LEGITIMATE SON of Abraham. The son of the promise. Ishmael was not the son of the promise therefore your only son is correct. As for the love part ask God he will tell you since he said it.
Not knowing with specificity what he meant by "it wasn't written *to* us", I must disagree. If THE WORD of GOD is not written TO us, did HE really want a family?
So, as Jesus is God in the flesh, is the Holy Spirit same as the angel of the Lord? And if God was to create another form of being, could He become one of them too? And so on, and so on?
I just always assumed the "gods" (e.g. Baal and Molach, in the OT, and Allah and Krishna in more modern times) were just different forms of Satan or "ideas" that Satan gave to the Gentiles to lead them astray. Dr. Heiser's take makes mych more sense: these are actual spiritual beings that want to be worshipped as the G-O-D God.
Someone please help me out. In Genesis 1 - 1In the beginning God (Elohim) created the heavens and the earth. How is that Elohim just the one God of Israel? If Elohim refers to ALL Spiritual beings - then it looks like they all had a hand in creation....otherwise the verse might read 'in the beginning - the Most High Elohim created the heavens and the earth......I just can't seem to parse this out :(

Of course there's a heavenly council. God was it, all by himself. So he split himself almost even to have a friend. They got along famously, until the second discovered it wasn't equal to the first. This discovery angered the second, who told God, "you could have made me equal, but you didn't. For this reason, I'm never speaking to you again. " and with that, the second left the presence of God. The second split itself to have a companion, but equally. Twice more, and the second was 6. God then created 6 more like himself. They all came together to create a council. 15 chairs. God is has a chair on each side with each of the 6, plus the center chair as the deciding vote. The more I learn about scripture, the more it seems the gnostic scripture fits.

Heiser's Failure of Psalm 82, the gods/elohim are Israel (Jacob's decendents)>>>Human, not non-human/spirit beings/angels like Heiser promoted. In the Hebrew in Psalm 82 angels/spirit beings isn't mentioned only "the gods" and "the congregation", the second term being what Heiser (and most other scholars) take as "council", and "the sons of the Most High". What a person has to do is figure out who "the gods" and "the congregation" are. Asaph is the author and the one who wrote the Psalm under the inspiration of God almighty Himself. God would communicate through prophets in the OT. Where a peson like Heiser failed is he could not figure out who the gods/elohim are, he never looked to Jesus. Because Jesus already settled this in scripture. The "I am" declarations" were directed towards humans, so is the "I said" used towards humans, this is referring to Israel (Jacob's decendents). Since Jesus (Son) is God and is addressing HUMANS in John 10 and is REPEATING what God (Father) said when He spoke and communicated thru the prophet Asaph in Psalm 82, that means the "gods/elohim" in Psalm 82 are also HUMAN (Judges.Rulers.Jews), Jesus Literally answers the question of the "gods/elohim" of Psalm 82 in John 10, Jesus is the fulfillment. This points to the Trintiy as One, the Trinity is One and the Same God made up of THREE persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. In this part of scripture are Two persons of God, the Father and the Son. That is why you Pair up " I said, “You are gods" in Psalm 82:6 and John 10:34. In this case this is about 2 persons of the Trintiy (Father and Son) both God. A few verses before Jesus says to His audience is John 10:30 "I and the Father are one." Elohim with a capital E is the trinity. El/Father/creator, plural/Yeshua/the word, Holy Spirit/ruach. Elohim with a small e, elohim is plural for his creation’s of his family the elohim. The Adopted sons of God (Patriarchs, Israel, Church) are the elohim and when we die, our spirit goes back to El, where we reunite in paradise and will also receive a Glorified/Resurrected body the true Image of God as His Children. Jesus is the perfection of the law and fulfills the law as well as the prophets, and we will be reunited with Christ for the millennium period before the great white throne judgment to teach the truth/ learn, and discipline. The Godhead/Trinity This is how the 3 persons within the Godhead opearate and function. Only the Holy Spirit (God) can convince a person to understand why the Son (God) has to fulfill the words that the Father (God) that were spoken by the prophet like Asaph and other prophets as well in the Old Testament. It is Said that Jesus has fulfilled over 350 prophecies of in the New Testament from the prophets from the Old Testament. Even Isaiah the prophet who wrote Isaiah 53 was the "Voice" of God in the Old Testament, so Jesus can Fulfill what was said in Isaiah 53.....Isaiah 53 is about the Crucifixion of Christ. Jesus has Ownership to both prophets Isaiah and Asaph of what they wrote and how God (Father) spoke thru them. Prophets were given the word of the Lord 4. Jesus is the word/Word become flesh John 1: 14 "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth." Jesus fulfills the Law and the Prophets, Jesus says in Matthew 5:17 "Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill." No super angels of a divine council were ever given the Law and the Prophets, it would be the Nation of Israel 5. To address to "die like men" In Psalm 82: 7 is Referring to those bad elders, rulers, leaders or judges within the nation of Israel that have High Authority, they favor the wicked and judge unjustly, they do not follow through with their responsibilities, duties, and do not represent God or the law, these High Officials are just men, they have High Rank so they will die like men. They are human not divine beings. God has always set up rulers within the nation of Israel and even throughout the world. In Numbers 11: 16 “So the LORD said to Moses: “Gather to Me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom you know to be the elders of the people and officers over them; bring them to the tabernacle of meeting, that they may stand there with you.” 1 Samuel 8 : 1-4 When Samuel became old, he made his sons judges over Israel. 2 The name of his firstborn son was Joel, and the name of his second, Abijah; they were judges in Beersheba. 3 Yet his sons did not walk in his ways but turned aside after gain. They took bribes and perverted justice. 4 Then all the elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel at Ramah. God has ALWAYS set up Governements in the world not just with in the Nation of Israel, Romans 13: 1 "Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God." 6. Clearly the "gods/elohim" of Psalm 82 are human judges, some even apply kings. The Old Testament has a book called Judges as well as two other books 1 Kings & 2 Kings. No book in scripture is applied to something nonhuman or angelic. Psalm 82:6 "“I said, ‘You are “gods”; you are all sons of the Most High.’.... The word "sons" used in this passage is an "Adoptive" Term for Israel, Israel was the chosen people of God. 7. Psalm 89 has NOTHING to do with Psalm 82. Hieser likes to mix those chapters together. Psalm 89 is in the heavenly and spirtual realm when Psalm 82 is on the earth and the physical world. The same logic heavenly and spiriitual would apply to 2 Chronicles 18:21 and 1 Kings 22:19-23 where it mentions a scene in heaven and the lying spirit. The heavenly hosts in scripture refers to the sun, moon and stars. In Summary The Humans are Jewish rulers in both Psalm 82 and John 10. Psalm 82 Jewish rulers like judges or even kings. John 10 Jewish rulers like pharissees. Psalm 82 would be human, NOT a bunch of super angels, like Heiser promotes. Heiser throws Jesus under the bus. Heiser CANNOT answer the question of the gods/elohim of Psalm 82 becasue Jesus has already answered the question of the gods/elohim in John 10. Jesus has Ownership to the answer, since Jesus is addressing humans in John 10 the same would be humans are being addressed in Psalm 82, not a bunch of super angels of a divine council. Heiser has manipulated so many minds and has triggered the mind to think this "divine council" is non human. Jesus clearly gives us the answer the divine council is human. The phrase and title given "you are gods" is a legalistic title of Authority because the Jews were given the Law and as well as judge with the law. The Jews were given the Law and 10 commandments to govern them and council them, so it is imposible for this to be nonhuman spirit beings or angels. The Jews also had the True Prophets of God. God also established covenants with Humans, not nonhuman spirit beings or angels. 😀😃🙂

I tried posting this kind of information on Mike's channel multiple times and he or his team never responded. Genesis 6 & Deuteronomy 32 Explained sons of God Heiser is correct when he said it should be sons of God in Deuteronomy 32:8. Heiser was a word guy the Hebrew would be >>>>(בני האלהים, bənê hāʼĕlōhîm>"Remember the days of old". Since Mose wrote Torah, the first 5 books of the Bible, which are Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. These "days of old" that Moses mention in verse 7, what Moses is doing is taking the reader back to the Pre-flood time period. Taking Verse 7 (Remember the Days of Old; consider the years of Many Generations;) Can 100% be applied as "sons of God" in Deuteronomy 32:8 as well as Genesis 5 and sons of God in Genesis 6. All makes sense and fits with the Author of Torah who is Moses. The argument is, is that there No Abrahamic covenant yet, that is 100% true when a person applies verse 7 (Remember the Days of Old; consider the years of Many Generations;) it is more clear and plain to see who the "sons of God" are in both Deuteronomy 32:8 and Genesis 6 Nations are named after a father in scripture. Abraham is considered a father. Jacob (Israel) is the father of the twelve tribes. Explaining sons of Israel. The passage of scripture of the name change for Jacob to Israel Genesis 32:28 "Then he said, “Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel, for you have striven with God and with men, and have prevailed.” Israel (Jacob) had 12 sons which would be 12 tirbes with Many Generations. @paulmerritt2484 So the spirit or God or whatever you are comfortable with, radiates an energy which acts as a stimulus to produce an abnormally large vibration inside of us which we call the Baptism of the Holy Spirit or Kundalini. It is an electrical stimulation which we have tried to define with religious words but will only understand it when we acknowledge it for what it is. I only discovered Dr Heiser last week as I was browsing through UA-cam. I was immediately interested in his teaching on the “Elohim”, hoping he wasn’t playing Joseph Smith and his multiple gods doctrine. I purchased his two last books and look forward to reading them and comparing it all with Scripture. I will probably never be so privileged as to discuss anything personally with Dr Heiser, but I would exhort him strongly to clearly and frequently state that all the “lesser elohim” are CREATED BEINGS by The Most High God! Otherwise, people may think he’s become a polytheist of some sort! God bless all who study God’s Word and preach Christ and Him crucified 🙏🏻❤️
I was always discouraged from angelology because it was either discouraged because of lack of practicality or because it was conflated with the worship of angels, but I can see clearly that its neither of those things. It can actually show us who we are in the supernatural family of God. Now, I probably wouldn't camp here for very long like our brother Dr. Heiser, but I will certainly be here long enough to understand what it means.
I'm of that mind. Of course we can only seek truth. As conscious beings our true speech. There is some very interesting ideas that we can use to interpret in the relevant science in consciousness, physics, and quantum superposition/collapse. Because the fools of the earth are trying to understand what they are.
So thankful that I found Dr. Heiser, so many pieces meshed perfectly together after hearing his teachings, and I can't find any of them that are unbiblical.

I listen to several ministers/teachers/scholars on UA-cam and I came across Michael Heiser several weeks ago. I couldn’t get enough and listened to one after the other. Then, during one of his lectures, he said that Adam and Eve could of died before they sinned because God said everything He created was good, not perfect. He said they could of drowned or got a cut and bleed to death. Two things disturbed me when I heard this. 1. They were created in God’s image. God is perfect. 2. Most importantly, Romans 6:23 says “For the wages of sin is death.” If sin brings death, how could they have died before they sinned? There was no sin until they sinned. If someone has an answer for this, please comment. I’ve learned a lot from this man but I also let the Holy Spirit be my discernment for God’s truth. I don’t make decisions based on my thoughts or someone else’s teachings. If I feel disturbed by something that I believe the Holy Spirit is showing me, I pray, then research others who I believe teach in truth based on Scripture. No offense meant towards Mike. This is my OPINION, just as he expressed his. All glory to God!

I am struggling with Psalm 82. I cannot get past the fact that it is addressing Israel as a result of their disobedience. Israel was termed as God's unique son among the nations of the world since he had chosen them and revealed himself to them and given them his commandments. However, Israel rebelled and now the author is warning them that they are at risk of dying just like the nations who do not know God(YHWH) i.e mere men/mortals. Why would the author be addressing "angelic beings" in a poem/song written by men? In fact John 10: 34 proves that the verse is addressing men who by virtue of receiving the word of God become gods. Psal 96:4-5. We have to read verses 4 & 5 together and not just verse 4 so that we can get what the author is on about. In verse 4 he is referring to what the nations of mortals call gods and in verse 5 he identifies what they are-idols(literally). I get the feeling that when Israel's authors are talking about the gods (Elohim) of the nations they are referring to idols as the nations depicted them. While the author's context may be used to refer to other Elohim's-angels/watchers-we must be careful not to read beyond what the author has set out in the text. Why would Israel be talking about other heavenly beings to her children? The context does not fit the purpose of writing. When Israel was about to occupy the promised land, they were warned about the practices of the Caananites as a result of their gods who were Idols. So when the shepherds/prophets of Israel are teaching their children they are warning about the gods/idols of the nations. To me, to think otherwise is a stretch too far. But I remain open-minded. I will keep researching more of his materials.

In reality what a person can get from scripture is that Jesus tells us who the "gods/elohim" are in Psalm 82 when we read John 10 34-35. Jesus is the One who fulfills the words of the prophets from the OT in the NT, that is why Jesus REPEATED the exact words " I said, “You are gods, from Psalm 82 (God/Father) in John 10 (God/Son). The gods/elohim/divine council in Psalm 82 are not disembodied spirits, angelic or nonhuman spirit beings, they are Israel, all of Israel (Jacob's descendents) would be human, which includes judges, elders, rulers, kings, and the common Isrealite citizen.
Dr. Heiser, thank you for a clear, entertaining and concise explanation of the use of the term "gods." Non-believers have pointed to the use of "gods" attempting to undermine a belief in the Godhead. Now I have a fuller explanation of the multiple uses of the Hebrew term "Elohim" meaning supernational being, good, bad or that of a deceased person. Thank you.
Looking at the 10 commandment, we can see that God made it crystal clear that Yehweh is the only true and unique God among all gods. You shall not worship other gods. Apart from Yehweh, you shall not worship other gods. Why is this topic becomes so confusing? Well, Paul said a particular bad god blinded you. Now if we don't made the distinction between God and gods, then we cannot make sense of the Bible. It's the biggest deal. We know that God never do evil. But if we think that Paul meant God blinded your mind, then nothing in the Bible would make any sense to you anymore. But see the quote below: 2 Corinthians 4:4 In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. If we understand that there is one true God and there are many other gods. Some are okay but others are dangerous, then we are at least in the better light to read the Bible. This teaching by Dr. Heiser opened my eyes. I have better chance of seeing who this true God is. I don't read gods as the only true God. Thank you, Dr. Heiser. Big thanks to God for you in my life.
Interesting teaching. However, I find it difficult to get past the issue that the presenter keeps referring to God as Yahweh. Many believers make this error but I expected more from someone doing a deep dive into scripture.
No Yawyeh is not God the creator of the universe. He is one of the gods known as the Elohim. He leads the Israelites and ferments war. The rules and the way of worship for thr Jews was changed under King Josiah. Check out Paul Wallis and Mauro Belingo. I am just learning this myself.

YHWH is the specific reference to the Most High. God, as a word, Heiser is showing us could be different Hebrew words and even those Hebrew words have a very general meaning, such as Elohim.

we were military and at 2 yrs old polio struck. My parents were overwhelmed; I was admitted to Wm Beaumont Hospital then when stable placed with wonderful Catholic sisters. I lived with them for a few years until we transferred to Wisconsin. I attended a private school for a year then we moved to eastern Washington state for 3 years. I wore leg braces until 9 years old. I was always surrounded by the attentive sister Nuns and the Church and Scripture.
Mass everyday at 11am and HOLY Scripture.
Alcohol was often in the picture during the military life in the 1950s -1960s....
Somehow I knew the God was watching over me, the sisters were a constant stable influence. I remember telling the sisters that my parents didn't follow ANY of the Commandments. They said Father God loved me so and with a heart for GOD I would help others....
PS: I love hymns of all kinds but especially loved a Gospel song 🎵 "Oh Happy Day"....years later while experiencing many months of decimated NOLA the song 🎵 was uplifting by numerous people; I enjoyed Mahalia Jackson and other Christian ✝️ singers.

Dr Mike has arrived in Heaven. I bet he’s not resting in peace. The Lord greeted The Good Dr and said let’s roll we’ve got a few things to accomplish. All kidding aside he changed the way I studied and viewed Gods Word. I’m forever grateful to him and someday I will see him in heaven. His family will remain in my prayers. My heart hurts for them.

Here's the way I view the Lord God allowing His council to make suggestions.
I love my sons, I want to teach them things in this life. And, I want to know that they know, how to think for themselves and to minimize mistakes when they act. So, when we're working on or planning something. Even though they're young, I will ask their opinion on what they would do, or what they think I should do. Even though I know what has too be done and the best way we should do it. I want their contribution, so if need be, I can teach them why that might not be the best bet. And sometimes, do something how they suggest, if just to show by example why it will not be the right answer, or show them that in fact they were right. But, no matter what, I'm there with them as their "safety net".
I just want them involved and growing.
I believe that, God, being our Heavenly Father and Creator is where we get these types of attributes. It's not hard to believe that He does this with His Heavenly spiritual family, the ones that are faithful to Him.
We miss you, but you are home now where the only scars are on the hands that hold you now.

I just watched a video where Heiser first admits the the Book of Enock was not written by Enoch and could not have been but the rest of the video he talks about the book as it was written by Enoch 100 percent and tells us how Enoch wanted us to understand this and that.

There is deception in heaven. As Jesus said the heavens suffer violence! And they take it by force. The deceptions are in the way and the paths, The casting ups or the going down.
The court without & 42 months described in Revelation is the same as the word for sheepfold in John 10.
I think the day of the dead all the veils are down. Time is ended in Revelation 10:5-6. The mystery of God is finished at that time. All can hear the warnings and the trumpets, on earth, in heaven, and beneath the earth. Keep praying for eyes to see and ears to hear and not according to our own understanding.

He quotes God as saying Isaac is his only son. Here’s the full verse. New International Version

God was referring to Isaac the LEGITIMATE SON of Abraham. The son of the promise. Ishmael was not the son of the promise therefore your only son is correct. As for the love part ask God he will tell you since he said it.
Not knowing with specificity what he meant by "it wasn't written *to* us", I must disagree. If THE WORD of GOD is not written TO us, did HE really want a family?
So, as Jesus is God in the flesh, is the Holy Spirit same as the angel of the Lord? And if God was to create another form of being, could He become one of them too? And so on, and so on?

I just always assumed the "gods" (e.g. Baal and Molach, in the OT, and Allah and Krishna in more modern times) were just different forms of Satan or "ideas" that Satan gave to the Gentiles to lead them astray. Dr. Heiser's take makes mych more sense: these are actual spiritual beings that want to be worshipped as the G-O-D God.

In Genesis 1 - 1In the beginning God (Elohim) created the heavens and the earth. How is that Elohim just the one God of Israel? If Elohim refers to ALL Spiritual beings - then it looks like they all had a hand in creation....otherwise the verse might read 'in the beginning - the Most High Elohim created the heavens and the earth......I just can't seem to parse this out :(
Elohim is plural, so there is conversation going on, but God does all the work of creation

Doesn't it read "You are God's." Meaning they belong to HIM?
Of course there's a heavenly council. God was it, all by himself. So he split himself almost even to have a friend. They got along famously, until the second discovered it wasn't equal to the first. This discovery angered the second, who told God, "you could have made me equal, but you didn't. For this reason, I'm never speaking to you again. " and with that, the second left the presence of God.
The second split itself to have a companion, but equally. Twice more, and the second was 6.
God then created 6 more like himself. They all came together to create a council. 15 chairs. God is has a chair on each side with each of the 6, plus the center chair as the deciding vote.

Heiser's Failure of Psalm 82, the gods/elohim are Israel (Jacob's decendents)>>>Human, not non-human/spirit beings/angels like Heiser promoted.
In the Hebrew in Psalm 82 angels/spirit beings isn't mentioned only "the gods" and "the congregation", the second term being what Heiser (and most other scholars) take as "council", and "the sons of the Most High". What a person has to do is figure out who "the gods" and "the congregation" are. Asaph is the author and the one who wrote the Psalm under the inspiration of God almighty Himself. God would communicate through prophets in the OT.
Where a peson like Heiser failed is he could not figure out who the gods/elohim are, he never looked to Jesus. Because Jesus already settled this in scripture.
Luke 24:44, Jesus speaking "Then he said to them, “These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.”
Psalm 82 would be included with this when you look at John 10

Plus Heiser's so called divine council of nonhuman/angels (gods/elohim) never had temple worship, sang the Psalms, never had the law of Moses, word of the Lord never came to them, and God would communicate to Israel through prophets like Asaph and other prophets (Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, minor prophets...ect.). When Asaph wrote this Psalm, he was inspired by God for this to be sung in the Temple, of course Solomon's Temple.
Another Point>>>> Verse 34, Jesus says...... "I said" "You are gods". What the "I said" is, is a declaration of Jesus as God. The "I said" is no different than an "I am" declaration", Jesus is God and is the Son of God. Another point with the "I said" of Jesus is that He is REPEATING this from the Old Testament which is found in Psalm 82, this is not just a mere qoute of Jesus, but an REPEAT of what God spoke thru the prophet Asaph........... Psalm 82: 1 "God has taken his place in the divine council; in the midst of the gods he holds judgment: Psalm 82:6 - “I said, you are gods.” Where God took His place was in the Temple, sacrifices were also offered in the Temple, Israel had a Levitical priesthood with a high priest. Even with the tabernacle God's presence was a cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. The "I am" declarations" were directed towards humans, so is the "I said" used towards humans, this is referring to Israel (Jacob's decendents).
Since Jesus (Son) is God and is addressing HUMANS in John 10 and is REPEATING what God (Father) said when He spoke and communicated thru the prophet Asaph in Psalm 82, that means the "gods/elohim" in Psalm 82 are also HUMAN (Judges.Rulers.Jews), Jesus Literally answers the question of the "gods/elohim" of Psalm 82 in John 10, Jesus is the fulfillment.
This points to the Trintiy as One, the Trinity is One and the Same God made up of THREE persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. In this part of scripture are Two persons of God, the Father and the Son.
That is why you Pair up " I said, “You are gods" in Psalm 82:6 and John 10:34. In this case this is about 2 persons of the Trintiy (Father and Son) both God. A few verses before Jesus says to His audience is John 10:30 "I and the Father are one."

Elohim with a capital E is the trinity. El/Father/creator, plural/Yeshua/the word, Holy Spirit/ruach.
Elohim with a small e, elohim is plural for his creation’s of his family the elohim. The Adopted sons of God (Patriarchs, Israel, Church) are the elohim and when we die, our spirit goes back to El, where we reunite in paradise and will also receive a Glorified/Resurrected body the true Image of God as His Children.
Jesus is the perfection of the law and fulfills the law as well as the prophets, and we will be reunited with Christ for the millennium period before the great white throne judgment to teach the truth/ learn, and discipline.

Law "gods" and Prophets (word of the Lord came to Prophets of God)
What this is saying at who is in the Middle of the Law and the Prophets, that would be the "gods". The "gods" that Jesus is referencing are from Psalm 82.
The "gods" are human and would be the Jews, becasue the Jews were given the Law and had the true Prophets of God. With that said the "gods" are human Jesus has Ownership to the answer of the "gods" of Psalm 82 found in John 10. Heiser is CHEATING Jesus out of the answer and throwing Jesus under the bus. Heiser has lead so many astray with his explanation of Psalm 82. Scripture clearly tells us that the Jews were given the Law and had the Prophets, NOT a bunch of super angels that Heiser promotes. Super angels were NEVER given the Law or had the Prophets of God.

Heiser likes to leave out the "I said" declaration of Jesus (Son) in John 10 and the the "I said" by God (Father) speaking thru the Prophet Asaph of Psalm 82. Jesus is God, God is ONE God made up of 3 persons Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The "I said" delararation is no different than an "I am" declaration.
3. The Godhead/Trinity This is how the 3 persons within the Godhead opearate and function. Only the Holy Spirit (God) can convince a person to understand why the Son (God) has to fulfill the words that the Father (God) that were spoken by the prophet like Asaph and other prophets as well in the Old Testament. It is Said that Jesus has fulfilled over 350 prophecies of in the New Testament from the prophets from the Old Testament. Even Isaiah the prophet who wrote Isaiah 53 was the "Voice" of God in the Old Testament, so Jesus can Fulfill what was said in Isaiah 53.....Isaiah 53 is about the Crucifixion of Christ. Jesus has Ownership to both prophets Isaiah and Asaph of what they wrote and how God (Father) spoke thru them. Prophets were given the word of the Lord
4. Jesus is the word/Word become flesh John 1: 14 "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth." Jesus fulfills the Law and the Prophets, Jesus says in Matthew 5:17 "Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill." No super angels of a divine council were ever given the Law and the Prophets, it would be the Nation of Israel
5. To address to "die like men" In Psalm 82: 7 is Referring to those bad elders, rulers, leaders or judges within the nation of Israel that have High Authority, they favor the wicked and judge unjustly, they do not follow through with their responsibilities, duties, and do not represent God or the law, these High Officials are just men, they have High Rank so they will die like men. They are human not divine beings. God has always set up rulers within the nation of Israel and even throughout the world.
In Numbers 11: 16 “So the LORD said to Moses: “Gather to Me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom you know to be the elders of the people and officers over them; bring them to the tabernacle of meeting, that they may stand there with you.”
1 Samuel 8 : 1-4 When Samuel became old, he made his sons judges over Israel. 2 The name of his firstborn son was Joel, and the name of his second, Abijah; they were judges in Beersheba. 3 Yet his sons did not walk in his ways but turned aside after gain. They took bribes and perverted justice. 4 Then all the elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel at Ramah.
God has ALWAYS set up Governements in the world not just with in the Nation of Israel, Romans 13: 1 "Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God."
6. Clearly the "gods/elohim" of Psalm 82 are human judges, some even apply kings. The Old Testament has a book called Judges as well as two other books 1 Kings & 2 Kings. No book in scripture is applied to something nonhuman or angelic. Psalm 82:6 "“I said, ‘You are “gods”; you are all sons of the Most High.’.... The word "sons" used in this passage is an "Adoptive" Term for Israel, Israel was the chosen people of God.
7. Psalm 89 has NOTHING to do with Psalm 82. Hieser likes to mix those chapters together. Psalm 89 is in the heavenly and spirtual realm when Psalm 82 is on the earth and the physical world. The same logic heavenly and spiriitual would apply to 2 Chronicles 18:21 and 1 Kings 22:19-23 where it mentions a scene in heaven and the lying spirit. The heavenly hosts in scripture refers to the sun, moon and stars.
In Summary
The Humans are Jewish rulers in both Psalm 82 and John 10. Psalm 82 Jewish rulers like judges or even kings. John 10 Jewish rulers like pharissees. Psalm 82 would be human, NOT a bunch of super angels, like Heiser promotes. Heiser throws Jesus under the bus. Heiser CANNOT answer the question of the gods/elohim of Psalm 82 becasue Jesus has already answered the question of the gods/elohim in John 10. Jesus has Ownership to the answer, since Jesus is addressing humans in John 10 the same would be humans are being addressed in Psalm 82, not a bunch of super angels of a divine council. Heiser has manipulated so many minds and has triggered the mind to think this "divine council" is non human. Jesus clearly gives us the answer the divine council is human.
The phrase and title given "you are gods" is a legalistic title of Authority because the Jews were given the Law and as well as judge with the law. The Jews were given the Law and 10 commandments to govern them and council them, so it is imposible for this to be nonhuman spirit beings or angels. The Jews also had the True Prophets of God. God also established covenants with Humans, not nonhuman spirit beings or angels.

Heiser was a false teacher on the unseen realm and this divine council theory he came up with. After reading this post if readers would share thoughts of what Moses meant by "Many Generations". I tried posting this kind of information on Mike's channel multiple times and he or his team never responded.
Genesis 6 & Deuteronomy 32 Explained sons of God
Heiser is correct when he said it should be sons of God in Deuteronomy 32:8. Heiser was a word guy the Hebrew would be >>>>(בני האלהים, bənê hāʼĕlōhîm>"Remember the days of old". Since Mose wrote Torah, the first 5 books of the Bible, which are Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. These "days of old" that Moses mention in verse 7, what Moses is doing is taking the reader back to the Pre-flood time period. Taking Verse 7 (Remember the Days of Old; consider the years of Many Generations;) Can 100% be applied as "sons of God" in Deuteronomy 32:8 as well as Genesis 5 and sons of God in Genesis 6. All makes sense and fits with the Author of Torah who is Moses.
The argument is, is that there No Abrahamic covenant yet, that is 100% true when a person applies verse 7 (Remember the Days of Old; consider the years of Many Generations;) it is more clear and plain to see who the "sons of God" are in both Deuteronomy 32:8 and Genesis 6
Nations are named after a father in scripture. Abraham is considered a father. Jacob (Israel) is the father of the twelve tribes.
Explaining sons of Israel. Exodus 4:22 says "Then you shall say to Pharaoh, ‘Thus says the Lord, Israel is my firstborn son". God is speaking to Moses in this passage, also this is another book of Torah. The passage of scripture of the name change for Jacob to Israel Genesis 32:28 "Then he said, “Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel, for you have striven with God and with men, and have prevailed.”
Israel (Jacob) had 12 sons which would be 12 tirbes with Many Generations. Getting back to Exodus 4:22 says "Then you shall say to Pharaoh, ‘Thus says the Lord, Israel is my firstborn son".
Since Israel was the "firstborn son" to the Lord God, which would means Israel/Jacobs offspring would be "sons of God" or also to say "children of Israel"
The twelve tribes are as follows: Reuben, Simeon, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, Benjamin, Dan, Naphtali, Gad, Asher, Ephraim and Manasseh.
See how many Generations came from Isreal (Jacob)
Even the following verses of how the "Text" allows for "sons of Israel" .
Deuteromony 32:9 'But the Lord's portion is his people,

Heiser is correct when he said it should be sons of God in Deuteronomy 32:8. Heiser was a word guy the Hebrew would be >>>>(בני האלהים, bənê hāʼĕlōhîm>"Remember the days of old". Since Mose wrote Torah, the first 5 books of the Bible, which are Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. These "days of old" that Moses mention in verse 7, what Moses is doing is taking the reader back to the Pre-flood time period. Taking Verse 7 (Remember the Days of Old; consider the years of Many Generations;) Can 100% be applied as "sons of God" in Deuteronomy 32:8 as well as Genesis 5 and sons of God in Genesis 6. All makes sense and fits with the Author of Torah who is Moses.

Nations are named after a father in scripture. Abraham is considered a father. Jacob (Israel) is the father of the twelve tribes.
Explaining sons of Israel. Exodus 4:22 says "Then you shall say to Pharaoh, ‘Thus says the Lord, Israel is my firstborn son". God is speaking to Moses in this passage, also this is another book of Torah. I only discovered Dr Heiser last week as I was browsing through UA-cam. I was immediately interested in his teaching on the “Elohim”, hoping he wasn’t playing Joseph Smith and his multiple gods doctrine. I purchased his two last books and look forward to reading them and comparing it all with Scripture.
I will probably never be so privileged as to discuss anything personally with Dr Heiser, but I would exhort him strongly to clearly and frequently state that all the “lesser
elohim” are CREATED BEINGS by The Most High God! Otherwise, people may think he’s become a polytheist of some sort!

I was always discouraged from angelology because it was either discouraged because of lack of practicality or because it was conflated with the worship of angels, but I can see clearly that its neither of those things. It can actually show us who we are in the supernatural family of God. Now, I probably wouldn't camp here for very long like our brother Dr. Heiser, but I will certainly be here long enough to understand what it means.
I'm of that mind. Of course we can only seek truth. As conscious beings our true speech.
There is some very interesting ideas that we can use to interpret in the relevant science in consciousness, physics, and quantum superposition/collapse.
Because the fools of the earth are trying to understand what they are.
So thankful that I found Dr. Heiser, so many pieces meshed perfectly together after hearing his teachings, and I can't find any of them that are unbiblical.

It is human nature to believe in something. We will follow either "Good Religion" or "Bad Religion". It's your choice, and even if you don't choose, you have made a choice. "Wordly" Religion will lead to destruction and death. Belief in Jesus Christ as your person savior will lead to Eternal Life.

I listen to several ministers/teachers/scholars on UA-cam and I came across Michael Heiser several weeks ago. I couldn’t get enough and listened to one after the other. Then, during one of his lectures, he said that Adam and Eve could of died before they sinned because God said everything He created was good, not perfect. He said they could of drowned or got a cut and bleed to death. Two things disturbed me when I heard this. 1. They were created in God’s image. God is perfect. 2. Most importantly, Romans 6:23 says “For the wages of sin is death.” If sin brings death, how could they have died before they sinned? There was no sin until they sinned. If someone has an answer for this, please comment. I’ve learned a lot from this man but I also let the Holy Spirit be my discernment for God’s truth. I don’t make decisions based on my thoughts or someone else’s teachings. If I feel disturbed by something that I believe the Holy Spirit is showing me, I pray, then research others who I believe teach in truth based on Scripture. No offense meant towards Mike. This is my OPINION, just as he expressed his. All glory to God!

I am struggling with Psalm 82. I cannot get past the fact that it is addressing Israel as a result of their disobedience.
Israel was termed as God's unique son among the nations of the world since he had chosen them and revealed himself to them and given them his commandments. However, Israel rebelled and now the author is warning them that they are at risk of dying just like the nations who do not know God(YHWH) i.e mere men/mortals.
Why would the author be addressing "angelic beings" in a poem/song written by men?
In fact John 10: 34 proves that the verse is addressing men who by virtue of receiving the word of God become gods.
Psal 96:4-5. We have to read verses 4 & 5 together and not just verse 4 so that we can get what the author is on about. In verse 4 he is referring to what the nations of mortals call gods and in verse 5 he identifies what they are-idols(literally).
I get the feeling that when Israel's authors are talking about the gods (Elohim) of the nations they are referring to idols as the nations depicted them.
While the author's context may be used to refer to other Elohim's-angels/watchers-we must be careful not to read beyond what the author has set out in the text.
Why would Israel be talking about other heavenly beings to her children? The context does not fit the purpose of writing. When Israel was about to occupy the promised land, they were warned about the practices of the Caananites as a result of their gods who were Idols.
So when the shepherds/prophets of Israel are teaching their children they are warning about the gods/idols of the nations. To me, to think otherwise is a stretch too far.
But I remain open-minded. I will keep researching more of his materials.

Jesus is the One who fulfills the words of the prophets from the OT in the NT, that is why Jesus REPEATED the exact words " I said, “You are gods, from Psalm 82 (God/Father) in John 10 (God/Son).
The gods/elohim/divine council in Psalm 82 are not disembodied spirits, angelic or nonhuman spirit beings, they are Israel, all of Israel (Jacob's descendents) would be human, which includes judges, elders, rulers, kings, and the common Isrealite citizen.

Dr. Heiser, thank you for a clear, entertaining and concise explanation of the use of the term "gods." Non-believers have pointed to the use of "gods" attempting to undermine a belief in the Godhead. Now I have a fuller explanation of the multiple uses of the Hebrew term "Elohim" meaning supernational being, good, bad or that of a deceased person. Thank you.

The other unique thing about Jesus as only begotten Son is that He was the only one born human.
Looking at the 10 commandment, we can see that God made it crystal clear that Yehweh is the only true and unique God among all gods. You shall not worship other gods. Apart from Yehweh, you shall not worship other gods.
Why is this topic becomes so confusing? Well, Paul said a particular bad god blinded you.
Now if we don't made the distinction between God and gods, then we cannot make sense of the Bible. It's the biggest deal. We know that God never do evil. But if we think that Paul meant God blinded your mind, then nothing in the Bible would make any sense to you anymore.

In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
If we understand that there is one true God and there are many other gods. Some are okay but others are dangerous, then we are at least in the better light to read the Bible.

Interesting teaching. However, I find it difficult to get past the issue that the presenter keeps referring to God as Yahweh. Many believers make this error but I expected more from someone doing a deep dive into scripture.

No Yawyeh is not God the creator of the universe. He is one of the gods known as the Elohim. He leads the Israelites and ferments war. The rules and the way of worship for thr Jews was changed under King Josiah. Check out Paul Wallis and Mauro Belingo. I am just learning this myself.
