I found the perfect picture, of a perfect stranger
It looked as if it were taken in the forties sometime
Judging by the style
He could be a killer or a blind man with a cane
Perhaps he died in a car crash years ago
Right now, it's impossible to tell
I almost thought I saw him standing, whistling on a bridge
I asked him the time, but when he turned around
I saw it wasn't him at all
I'm still searching
I'm still searching
I saw him in an airport, while he was sitting on a wing
And I waved to him, but I don't think he noticed me
I've got a funny feeling I know who he is

2:26 - 2:31 JG BALLARD Reference To His Book 'Crash' And Film Of The Same Name ? ? ?🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Similar to/influenced by Kraftwerk's Hall Of Mirrors AND/OR Showroom Dummies BUT The Obvious Influence Is John Foxx's 'Touch & Go' From The Metamatic Album, It Makes You Think That John Foxx Wrote Mister-X Considering The Metamatic Album Was Released BEFORE The Vienna Album And Midge Ure's Ultravox Ripped John Foxx's Song???🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Nah... is not as simplistic as 'someone ripped someone else off'.... John Foxx was early Ultravox... Midge Ure stepped in when John Foxx left (having already been involved in the fantastic Visage project)..... in fact, Ultravox was in suspension... all members were in various projects...
When the new Midge Ure form of Ultravox crystallised, there is no surprise at all that earlier materials would resurface again; John Foxx would do his version on Metamatic... some time later it then showed a renewed expression through Mr X... (the best form the idea ever took in my opinion).
Can you not let musicians experiment without seeing animosity and or 'ripoff'. They were all friends/associates.. and no one minded!
Like your reference to Kraftwerk Hall of Mirrors though... I can hear that now you pointed it out...
But why not musicians be influenced from one another? Is natural!
Writers are influenced by one another. Painters also. Film directors also. All art is a melting pot.
So why speak of 'ripping off'?
You misunderstand the spirit of things.
'MISTER X' IS VERY SIMILAR TO 'TOUCH & GO' ON THE 'METAMATIC' ALBUM BY JOHN FOXX, I WONDER IF JOHN FOXX ALSO WROTE 'MISTER X' ? ? ?🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Probably, I also noticed the similarity.
Kraftwerk influence is strongly present in this song.
just like in kraftwerk music you can hear the influence of Gershon Kingsley :)
Huh, Gershon Kingsley?! He used synths yes. but other than that, i dunno.
@@oxiigen I'm just fooling around. Kraftwerk are the fathers of this type of music.
@@garbus77 OK, cheers!:)
