    To answer your question about DR n/-, "n" is the value of your DR and "-" is nothing. So DR 5/- would be damage reduction 5, overcome by nothing. This is often referred to as "flat" DR.

    One thing about Favorite Metamagic is that if you've selected the extend spell metamagic, it makes extending spells free. In the late game, if you combine your spellbook for a CL of 25+, extending spells with metamagic allows you to get a 24 hour duration from spells that have a duration of 1 round/level, so long as you have the greater enduring spell mythic feat

    • @SlanderedGaming
      @SlanderedGaming  3 роки тому +4

      Whoaaaaa!!!!!!! I didn't even think of that combination. 24 hour haste would be INCREDIBLE. Thanks for pointing this out!

      Yeah, there is a bunch of great round/level buff spells and they would be amaaazing if you get them all day...
      In some senses, the feats for Abundant Casting and the ones for extending it (forget their name) + Extend metamagic arrive at similar places... both will give you a lot of excess slots to use for other spells that would otherwise get used up for buffing...
      You've got the "just give me more slots" strategy, and the "make some of my slots go way further so I don't need to keep using more to reapply the same effects, so I ultimately have more left over" strategy. Each have their strengths and weaknesses :) .
      Personally I think I'll be going the Abundant route, as it better suits my playstyle, but the extended route is absolutely valid and probably the right thing to do for many players :)

    Holy carp the greater abundant casting unlocks some sweet multiclassing options. A lot of my builds in Kingmaker took just enough levels of a caster to get 'a' 9th level spell, then used the rest on dips for other utility - but with greater abundant casting you get four more casts of that 9th level slot, which means even if you juuust make it to 9th level spells, you are guaranteed a minimum 5 casts if it.

      The mythic paths in general opens up great multiclassing, With things like the lich for example being able to merge with certain spellbooks, Which gives you a higher effective spellcasting level which opens up higher spell levels, For instance i played a Wizard/EK/Fighter multiclass and i had three attacks and 9th level spells at 16~ ish levels because of mythic path levels.

    Shadow spells are Illusion school spells where you can pick from a level range of spells then the target needs to make a Will Save to believe/disbelieve. If they fail this save they make a second save as determined by the spell you are shadow casting (reflex for fireball) as normal. If they make the will save then they disbelieve and the spell either does a x% of the rolled damage or has a x% chance of working. That mythic feat is essentially 20% more damage or chance to work. BTW the main draw of shadow spells is by focusing on illusion DC you can actually have a higher relative save enemies need to make, even with two saves, and you have a lot of spells to pick from in just one spell slot. Its a super duper cool series of spells. Shadow, Summoning kind of blows though, tbh.

    • @SlanderedGaming

      @@SlanderedGaming Agreed, I have a Shadow Oracle in a PNP campaign and I am not taking any of those powers. By boosting your DC you get a lot more mileage. Boosting realism isn't really worth it over boosting DC. Furthermore the spells selection in the CRPG versions is vastly neutered for shadow. Nice on sorcerer but thats about it.

    Nice you got this out so quickly.
    For the record, while I see someone else has suggested 'flat DR' as how to say it, personally, I say 'En slash dash', though I have absolutely no basis to call that a 'correct' answer, it just rolls off the tongue nicely, I feel.
    Battle Meditation: actually looks fairly good for specific spellcasters. 'Staggered' simply means they can only do a standard or move action each round (and they can't actually move). Most (though not all) spells are standard actions. It doesn't seem to be limited, either. Get into position (ideally before combat even starts - points in stealth may help?), pop this off, then just cast normally while buffing your party. Morale bonuses are fairly rare, if you don't have a bard in the team, so they should stack nicely.
    Last Stand: Should be pronounced 'Crit insurance policy'. ;)
    Limitless Rage: Does this work with Skalds? I vaguely recall hearing that it didn't at least, but I could be misremembering, or it could have changed.
    Powerful Shadows: Not sure if this is correct, but I heard it described a little different from how you did. The way I heard it was that these spells give two saves - a Will save to disbelieve it, then the normal save the spell would allow. If they fail to disbelieve, the spell takes full effect. If they successfully disbelieve, the spell only takes partial effect, depending on the specific spell - so with the low-level (level 4?) variant, it's only 20% real, so a damaging spell that's disbelieved will only do 20% damage of a normal spell. Powerful Shadows would up that to 40%, rather than provide any bonuses to prevent them from disbelieving it, which is the impression I got from what you said. Either way, I'd only use it on a Phantasmal Mage, and probably not as a priority.
    Witch Wandering Hex: it does specifically say you can select *any* Witch Hex, not 'any hex valid for your level' or whatever, so does that mean you can take literally *any* hex (like, even Grand Hexes before you're level 18)? Wouldn't think so, but that is what a literal reading seems to imply.
    Anyway, that was interesting, thank you.

    • @SlanderedGaming
      @SlanderedGaming  3 роки тому +1

      Not sure about Skalds. Witch Wandering Hex only let's you choose Hex's you have access to. I always have Heroism or Greater Heroism so the Morale buff from Battle Meditation is useless for me.

    Great work! I would just say you actually get a crossbow in act 4 that makes your heal spells reach so it might be worth repeccing your healer at that stage to get a more useful ability.
    I definitely agree that everready should probably be your first pick as a melee type as it is frontloaded, whereas the others scale a lot. Regill + everready +outflank+ combat reflexes + seize the moment is a shredding machine. If you pair him with Camellia with the same teamwork feats, her low crit rate means he gets tons of acts of opportunities. Also a lot of people build Wenduag as a melee act of opportunity archer with snapshot/greater shapshot so everready is great for her in these sorts of builds too.
    Also, what mythic path you take can definitely change how good these abilities are too. Trickster gives you the improved improved critical line which reduces the crit rate 2 times, which makes seize the moment and everready incredibly powerful

    There's something about Mythic Charge I don't think was mentioned. Currently, the extra 1d6 per mythic rank gets applied to ALL attacks made during a charge. Meaning if you charge on a character with the pounce ability, you get 1d6/mythic rank on the charge+EVERY attack in a full round attack action. Mileage will still vary on how good the ability is I think, but if playing on a pouncing character, it's a must-take imo.

    • @SlanderedGaming
      @SlanderedGaming  3 роки тому

      What you said is true but the problem is there are too many situations where the game won't let you charge. Every time that happens it's a lost opportunity for the damage Leading Strike would provided . Especially if you are mostly playing RTwP. If you are doing turned based on every single battle and always selecting Charge then that's different but I would argue most people aren't playing that way.

    • @815TypeSirius
      @815TypeSirius 3 роки тому

      On a charge you only get one attack unless you have pounce so if you're going for a charge focus or not is what determines which is best. Also, in RTWP leading strike will be brutal unless its hard limited to once per round.

    • @SlanderedGaming
      @SlanderedGaming  3 роки тому

      I agree with 815, Mythic Charge is better if you have pounce AND you are playing in turn based combat. If you don't have pounce and you are playing RTwP, Leading Strike is the clearly superior option. In RTwP you will miss many opportunities to use Charge and consequently Mythic Charge will do less damage over the course of your playthrough.

    You might be underestimating Elemental Barrage. It's not just a late game ability for casters.
    I don't know if this was intentional, but in beta, it worked not just for spells but elemental weapons. E.g. there's one Kukri you get in act 3 iirc, that deals three different elements (if I recall correctly it was Fire, Lightning, and Acid). Combine that with Thundering Blows (sonic) or other sources of elemental (such as White Dragon armor for Cold), and you're triggering Elemental Barrage multiple times a round for tons of divine damage. It's likely the biggest source of damage for fast attackers such as two weapon fighters.

With that ability, it's not an auto-fail so there's a chance you can still hit. However, obviously the target has to have a pretty low AC and/or you have to be buffed to have any chance at all. I didn't count that because the description of the ability specifically mentions spells. A couple of other people mentioned that they have used it with weapons but it doesn't seem like that was what Owlcat intended. They may patch it before the full release.

    Does Inspirational Leader stack? If so you can almost guarantee your entire team goes first, Mind effecting effects and concentration checks would become a joke.

      It does stack but since it is only half your Mythic rank I'd argue it's a long time before it makes a significant impact.

    Does anybody know if Brutality Incarnate apply to shapeshifting form and dragon shape?

    • @SlanderedGaming
      @SlanderedGaming  3 роки тому +1

      It should apply to both. I know it applies to Shapeshifting form but cannot confirm Dragon Shape for you. I feel like if it didn't though that is something that definitely would've been reported by now. You should be safe.

      @@SlanderedGaming Just got to test it out on dragon form 1, and it works on that too. DR was some of the set back with a melee dragon build in Kingsmaker. Now that ability to ignore DR it it should be better.

    I'm a bit confused about your statement that Seelah gets the sabre-tooth tiger as a pet? I can't seem to find that information anywhere. I know she gets a horse at level 5, can't see anything about the tiger though. Am I wrong? Greats video's btw, finding them incredibly helpful.
    edit: Apparently it was changed to a horse instead of the tiger on full release. Is the horse still as good as the tiger? Think it's still worth getting the mythic beast ability?

      Thanks glad you are enjoying the content. In my opinion the Horse is definitely still helpful just in a different way. While the Tiger was fantastic at damage the horse is a great tank. I gave it the clas that automatically provides barding feats and stuck some medium armor on it. In formation I have the horse out in front of everybody else. Takes hard heats like a champ as long as it's buffed properly. Seelah can make up for the loss of damage. :)

      @@SlanderedGaming And, something I have noticed in my playthrough....It's worth having Seelah mount the horse, because it allows her to move further and faster in one go (Especially useful if you're using Turn Based combat)

    11:07 Cleaving shot, is it a 10 foot radius of you, or the enemy you killed? If it's you this is awful as you are not usually standing near enemies as a ranged fighter. 10 foot from the enemy you killed is OK, thought still not great.
