I read The End of Loneliness earlier this year and I really loved it. It's sad but hopeful. I think the author makes good observations about people and relationships, not just romantic but familial as well.
baby teeth was a HOT MESS girl if I were you id listen to the audiobook and turn it into a drinking game (everytime a character does/says some out of pocket shit take a sip)
I just have to say you keep giving me new favorite books!!! I'm currently reading The Cat Who Saved Books and I love it! Also based on your recommendation I've read and LOVED Vita Nostra and Piranesi. You keep giving me new favs thank you so much!
I don’t think I can handle “Baby Teeth”, but “The End of Loneliness” is definitely on my list. I have a feeling it’s going to be a different and engaging read.
I am so so so excited that you are planning to read The End of Loneliness by Benedict Wells. DO read it and you will not regret it. The whole book is such a refreshing VIBE!!
So glad you mentioned it His book "Hard Land" is also amazing and so beautifully written I read it in spring and it really moved me Benedict Wells has also created a few playlists on Spotify which go really well with his books I hope you all have a nice day! xxx
I'll also be reading "fourth wing" I'm actually starting today. I wanna see what all the hype is about. Thanks for the recs. I'll be checking out a few of these.
I really loved Fourth Wing!!! There are elements in it that are reminiscent of the Ember in the Ashes series and I mean that as a compliment. The prose isn't flowery and the plot and world are easily digestible. Some people may not appreciate the modern/realistic internal monologue of the main character, but I loved that part of it. It made a fantasy book relatable. Violet also has joint problems that "hinder" her in a sense that everything in the world is more of a challenge for her. I have some similar joint problems and I found that to be a really great addition to the story. There's my mini defense on Fourth Wing.
not gonna lie, i absolutely love and appreciate the fact that you continue to use a chopstick as your microphone. makes me crack up every time i see it.
Not sure if you read ML wangs sword of kaigen etc but the latest book that just came out is fantastic and will grip you in from beginning, blood over bright haven! highly recommend (and great for fall)
You should read Demon Diary! It’s a manga. I’m planning to read Over My Dead Body, If We Were Villains, Dracula, Belladonna, and Phantom of the Opera during the fall
I also want to read A Study in Drowning this fall! And I'm going to read The Unmaking of June Farrow. I read Fourth Wing and absolutely LOVED it! 5 stars for me!
I'm one of those people that try to read all books nominated for the Hugo award, so that's my fall reading. Finished all the novels, Now I'm working on the novellas. I'm currently waiting for my hold on When the Tiger Came Down the Mountain to come in at the library so I can read it before reading Into the Riverlands, which is the Nghi Vo title that is nominated this year.[Edit. Oops. I'm a liar. I have not read Nona the Ninth on the novel list. I'm saving it for last because I have not read Harrow the Ninth yet. If don't manage to read both of them in time for the awards. I think it will be OK. Both Gideon the Ninth and Harrow the Ninth were nominated in their years and they didn't win. Why would Nona?]
