I am glad you like this bike. IMHO the Rally Pro and the GT Pro are the best ADV bikes out there. I think I'd take the GT Pro mlyself, because I don't do hard off road and the GT is perfect on gravel roads and easy stuff and better on the road. I love your reviews, even if I'm in France. Go Triumph!
A recent Honda price rise has put the base AT at about the same price as this Triumph. Weight, size and power wise they are very similar , although the Rally Pro is fully loaded . A comparison would be interesting.
G'day Curtis, so comparing the Tiger 900 Rally Pro to the Norden 901 what are your thoughts? I would have thought they would be a match on the road but the Norden would have the wood on the Triumph in the dirt? I agree with your assessment on the Karoo 3's....rubbish! Cheers, Tricky
Hey man. Thanks for the vids. As a new (4 weeks) 900r owner it's good to see some Aussie riders. Wondering what tyres your running. Can't wait get some mixed ADV ridng in. Cheers Ray
What about the rake of the forks? Did you notice some stability issues going offroad, some reviewers note this steep rake as a negative. Front seems to get a little vague. More chance of losing the front.
No issues mate. Triumph actually recommends you take the rear shock preload right out for off-road because of that. They know more than us, but a strange choice if you're heavier
Great video. I’m thinking I want this bike but not a big fan of the TFT screens.. but the. I noticed your screen kept switching between a black screen that looks great, and the white on that im not a fan of. What’s up with that?
Could most of the riding off road you did in this video, be done in standard off road mode or did you need the off road pro? Was that on stock tires? Thank you!
How would you compare this bike to the 800DE? Slipped down the rabbit hole on this bike since discovering it has tubeless wheels and lighter than the 800DE lol I keep wanting to compare it to a T7 also, I guess because once you get done spending money on the T7 upgrading it, you're already at or above the cost of a Tiger 900 Rally which comes with most things from the factory minus a decent bash plate, but you can't buy reliability and just don't know enough about Triumph to really compare them to a T7 or come to a conclusion about ease of maintenance or reliability over tens of thousands of KM.
The Rally Pro is a mean bike. I'd trust it, the triples have been around for years and are rock solid. It's a better bike than the 800de, but also more expensive. The Africa twin is a good shout in that price range too
If you had to choose between this bike or an Africa twin, which would you take as your everyday commuter road bike for longer trips, and some light off-road?
@@onthebackwheel Enjoyable to watch, nonetheless. Great riding & surroundings btw! Impossible to find where I live in Europe. (Germany & Denmark) Safe riding!
I am a Triumph man I own a Bonnieville t120 looking for a second bike for some light Offroad riding nothing hardcore torn between the tiger 900 rally pro or KTM 890r
Looking hard at this bike. Looks nice and has everything. Seems quite a few people are a bit concerned about vibrations at higher speeds. How did you find it?
@@xpantzgo for it! It's a fantastic bike. Of all the review bikes I've had so far, this is the first I can 100% recommend. It's not perfect, but REALLY good
I’ve had mine for nearly a year & did notice the vibration through the grips on longer rides at highway speed - tingly hands after a while. Fitted bark busters with end weights & it’s pretty much sorted it.
You forgot the windshield on the high position again but I guess it makes sense as you did get on highway speeds on that trail😂 great riding man😎💪🏻
Haha yep. It's good for a headbutt every now and again too 😆

Thanks mate. Really keen to try out the new model, apparently they are even better!

Yesss! I agree with^^^. Any chance you can get your hands on the Honda Africa Twin?! ;)
I'm working on this! I may be able to get my hands on a DCT version
The heaviest I’d take is a Tenere 700, lol. These buggers are a bit porky 😂 I’ll keep my DR, hold onto it, and add a 701 enduro/KTM 690😏
Lol the mirrors haha :P On the GS

Great Tricky. I reckon you're pretty on the money there. The new Tiger is coming so I'm keen to see how that compares too
Me too. Interested to see what your test ride and review turns up!

Gday Ray. This bike had the Karoo 3's on, didn't like them at all if I'm honest
@@onthebackwheel hahahaha. Had anything all terrain (to use 4x4 terms) that you do like.? I guess 70/30ish?
Hmm 70/30. I like the AX41's but the rear doesn't last long. Hard to go past the Motoz tractionator adventures

Can change the display on the RP. The setting he is using is an auto setting switches to dark in low light. I keep mine in dark mode all the time.
Yeah the auto settings are a bit annoying when riding in and out of trees
what gloves are you wearing. They look great.

Hi. Yep you could do it in standard mode. The tyres weren't stock, Karoo 3. Decent set of tyres and this bike is very capable
Did you get any front wheel hop, have read that the front wheel has been out of round on these bikes.
Nope, no problems

nice video. on what tires were you riding?
Cheers. Metzeler Karoo 3, the rear was pretty bald though

Oh that's a tough one. I'd be happy with either TBH. Maybe lean towards the Tiger?
Aprilia Tuareg 660 or Tiger 900 Rally Pro? Kind of two different classes of bike, but which do prefer?
I loved the 660, my favorite so far of all the ones I've ridden
Is it my screen or your camera that makes this footage a little blurry?😉
Maybe both! If it's not viewed at a high resolution and can get a little blurry

Can't go wrong with either of those

I have no issues with the vibrations. If you are up towards redline it gets pretty vibey, otherwise fine
@@onthebackwheel Thanks mate. I'll have to go try one then... they look pretty good.

cool. aren't you afraid of crashing.
Not afraid, but definitely wary of it when it's not my bike
whoops. sorry about my earlier comment. i didnt realize this video was for 2020
Which comment was that one mate?
Overtaking like that with your speed showing on the video…………would suggest you blur Speedo 😬
Fair enough!
