I bought a Stalman Clamp last Xmas and it’s a solid piece of kit, it has a premium feel and my phone sits in it very securely. The only drawback is I have to remove my case to use it. Also the piece that surrounds the camera won’t allow for an ND filter to be attached. Maybe the new horizontal version can be used in both horizontal and vertical positions. Giving us the ability to use whatever case and camera attachments.
The priority of both clamp is a simple solid connection to your phone, with ways to build it out. But I know Kondor is working on a full rig solution as well
Nice rig. That battery is key for constant filming. I built a rig last year for an Android phone with an anamorphic adapter that I plan on using for a sci-fi film.
Great video. Will definitely buy the Stalman “horizontal” Clamp. I think most professionals shoot horizontal. I even shoot it for social media apps. Again, great video.
I would love to learn about how you make your videos with creative shots + effects for your commercial clients like at 0:18 . Do you plan to include that in your course?
Great Video! I am creating vertical as well, although with a Fuji XH2s mounted vertical. Very interested in your workflow/reasoning why you shoot on IPhone and not a dedicated „Pro“-Camera :). If I understand correctly you still edit the log footage on a computer anyway? Best Chris :)
I just downloaded the kino app 2 days ago and I’m loving the image quality out of it! My only issue right now is the audio. It sounds super muffled. Is that normal? Love your videos man! Keep up the good work! Also I’m using an iPhone 16 pro.
I'd love a suggestion for the "middle ground" option for self-monitoring set ups for those of us who are both the shooter and the subject? I've seen small bluetooth screens that add a monitor to the back of the phone. Have you used anything like this?
Someone will eventually make a more unified all-in-one kit. For me, each part is a point of failure even if just misplaced. Even you had to correct something during assembly.
Great video, thanks for sharing your insight. I definitely need a horizontal clamp and one that can work with case; I need a case for the optical lenses I have for my iPhone, so if that is implemented within the design I think it would benefit a lot of users...
I cant use any of my accessories with the stalman clamp so it doesn't fit my use case at the moment, but im going to try the kino app so I dont have to apply luts after im done recording
@@stalmanyou don’t think it’s worth keeping the shutter speed at the 180 degree angle? I’m a complete amateur. I have no clue what I’m doing so this is not some sort of dig. I’m genuinely curious, a lot of channels say it’s kind of like a must. Obviously they’re sponsored by a company that makes certain filters so I do take it with a grain of salt but It seems like most people suggest an ND filter.
Filming with my iPhone is such a dream. I use it constantly and I am so glad the state of modern iphone camera features. Great breakdown Tyler
I still haven’t full accepted how much of my regular video workflow it can replace

Love the clamp, but V2 and the horizontal clamp has got to allow the use of ND filters, otherwise it’s a solid piece

Glad to hear it! We hope to have it ready any day now

I need a horizontal Stalman clamp that acts like a camera grip and connects into the USB C with an SD card slot! Pleeeaaase

*ok I wanted to make sure B4 I tried this out was to see if that USB-C plugin was able to use with a wireless mic, not that I know this is Awesome*
Just make sure you’re using one with a usb cable and not a fixed adapter

Oh wow I completely forgot to mention how I monitor, which is to use screen share to my MacBook. This assumes you have a MacBook, but good to know

Is the app moment good for video and photos?

but that horizontal clamp will sell out immediately so ill make sure to buy when available
I for one, really enjoyed this ad. The best part was the ad-break in the middle.
Nice setup, pricey but as you said you’re getting paid. probably the most efficient cleanest you can get with all the features 👍🏼
Side question, does the audio pipe into the phone through the usb c ? Or is it an external audio thing you’d have to sink in post. lmk
It has a major flaw, for me. How can you use a VND filter with that rig?
I just don’t think ND is worth it on the phone
@@stalman do you shoot 24fps when shooting on your phone?

Oh yea, my kind of video

It's impossible to listen to the video in english. UA-cam forces me to listen to the german dub. Wtf?
hideous cable management. Not recommended
