- INGREDIENTS :
1. BANANA FLOWER - 1 NO
2. WATER - 1 CUP
3. SOAKED MOONG DAL - 1 SMALL CUP
4. RED CHILLI POWDER - 1/2 TEASPOON
5. TURMERIC POWDER - 1/4 TEASPOON
6. SALT - TO TASTE
7. FRESH GRATED COCONUT - 3 TABLESPOON
TEMPERING :
1. MUSTARD SEEDS - 1/2 TEASPOON
2. CUMIN SEEDS - 1/2 TEASPOON
3. URAD DAL - 1 TEASPOON
4. CUT RED CHILLI - 1 NOS
5. CURRY LEAVES - 1 OR 2 SPRIGS
6. SLIT GREEN CHILLI - 1 OR 2 NO'S
7. OIL - 1 TABLESPOON
METHOD :
1. PREPARE THE BANANA FLOWER AS SHOWN IN THE VIDEO AND CHOP IT COARSLEY BY USING EITHER A HAND BLENDER OR BY CHOPPING .
2. WASH THE SAME BY PUTTING IT IN A SEIVE AND WASH IT UNDER RUNNIGN WATER.
3. REMOVE THE EXCESS WATER AND KEEPIT ASIDE.
4. BOIL A CUP OF WATER AND PUT THE ABOVE BANANA FLOWER MIXTURE AND ADD TURMERIC POWDER , SALT AND LET IT BOIL TILL THE ENTIRE WATER EVAPORATES.
5. DO NOT LET THE DAL OVERCOOK.
6. REMOVE THE SAME INTO A VESSEL AND KEEP ASIDE.
7. NOW ADD OIL INTO THE KADAI AND ADD THE TEMPERING INGREDIENTS AND LET THE SPLUTTER.
8. NOW ADD IN THE COOKED BANANA FLOWER MIXTURE AND CHECK THE SALT AND ADD MORE IF REQUIRED. ADD ALSO THE RED CHILLI POWDER .
9. ADD IN THE GRATED COCONUT AND MIX WELL AND COOK FOR A MINUTE AND THEN REMOVE FROM THE FIRE .
10. SERVE HOT WITH RICE .
