- A run through how the assessment works on the Legacy Course at Lee Valley Whitewater Centre (former London 2012 Olympic venue).
Hopefully useful if you are planning on doing an assessment to be able to book onto public paddling sessions.
I completed the assessment at 10am (it took about 20-30 mins in total) and then paddled the rest of that session.
I was then able to book at the reception desk an afternoon session.
Next stop: Olympic course Assessment
Very useful, plan to do the legacy assessment this year
Well done but you deffo know what you're doing ;) Having just completed the Developing WW course at LV on Saturday just gone, i decided to give the assessment a go, so its booked in for tonight, fake it till ya make it, right? lol
Well done great work 🎉
You guys passed when you were on the lake before the assessment. They only needed to see that you could roll. Well done 👍
Thats far from true I'm afraid, for one, you don't even need to be able to roll, as long as you can safely wet exit, two, you MUST be able to grab one of the eddies prior to the second drop, right hand eddy right before the drop is the hardest but you get Brucie bonus points for it, the firm fav is the one opposite as its the easiest. They also want to see you catch as many eddies as you can with the odd C and S turns thrown in and to show youre safe for yourself and others on the water. I don't know where youre thinking of but it certainly isn't at LV.
@@SubParPaddler The assessment is only the beginning of your LV learning journey and the coaches do not expect you to know the course inside out. Emphasis is on safety and competence and showing that you have enough confidence to enter and exit Eddie's and get around without being a danger to yourself or fellow paddlers. Thanks
@@brotherjohnnoexactly, that's a little more than doing just a roll ;) I just passed my self and I failed the roll as expected but I managed to hit the hardest eddy on the course, that pretty much sealed the deal.
@@bashy2.0 well done for passing, fun times ahead! Happy paddling 👍
@@brotherjohnno Thank you :)
