very beautyfull socks. I bought a month ago the Book 52 Weeks of Socks by Laine and I so enjoy using those Patterns. Lots of learning happening. Thanks for sharing
Emma - this is wonderful.... glad I saved the time to watch... now on to Two! Congratulations!
I don’t know how to knit but want to try to learn after the first of the year. I do crochet though. I love tarn talk. Good luck with your podcasts. I watch Nordic stitches. She knits as well and does beautiful work. I’ve enjoyed the video.👍💖
loved your podcast - and you're local to me. I am a knitter and would love to learn to spin and dye. Need to find a class fairly local though. I really enjoyed your podcast and hope you go from strength to strength. Your voice is lovely and clear. Well done!
Love your opening - very nice! Your Cinderella socks are great!
I love listening to you speak! I love your dialect 😊 Wonderful projects and yarns.
Oh how I loved your first episode, you are a natural at it! Love your story on sourcing out different wool breeds close to home and what natural plants you use to dye them ❤️ Looking forward to more episodes Emma 😍
You are very kind! Thank you :)
Hello from San Diego! I've just discovered your podcast and your asethetic is right up my alley. Can't wait for your shop update.
Oh... I thoroughly enjoyed you and the podcast. I'll be watching for more from where I am in the South/west part of Nova Scotia.
Oh, such a thrill to see my sock pattern in your first podcast! 😘 You are a natural at this, Emma! You are so knowledgeable- I could listen to you talk about yarn all day! Thank you for starting your podcast! It’s already my favorite podcast! 💖

I'm knitting g weekender too right this moment. Nice to watch a fellow NI
I am trying to make socks from all different breeds so this podcast was wonderful. Good luck on this venture.

Yes! I'm so pleased! I'm really enjoying it.
Thanks for watching! :)
What a lovely first episode! I look forward to many more friend xx
Thanks Alex! :)
love this inaugural episode! you have a charming style, and I'm very much looking forward to more. I'm so enthused by your ethos for your business. I think exploring the different sheep breeds for what they can offer is high up on my list to learn more about! very excited to hear you mention Aidan, he is a favorite maker & podcaster. And VERY excited to see you making a Weekender sweater! I'm hosting a little KAL for that sweater right now, can't wait to see how that gorgeous wool works up for the pattern :) cheers!
Aidan is fab! Such an interesting podcaster and maker. The Uist Wool for that sweater has worked up a dream- I'm at the sleeves now (I filmed this a while ago!) and I'm really loving how they work together.
Wonderful podcast! I don't know if it's useful, but last summer I did a very concentrated dye bath of avocado pits and skins, and added baking soda in the final dip - it yielded a very rich, deep browny pink.
Lovely Emma, looking forward to the next one :-)
You home is beautiful and I appreciate your point of view.
thank you for this loveliness! :)
It's great to see you here! Loved your first episode!
Thanks! :)
I love your hair stick. Your hair looks so good up like that. I love a good hair updo. Grace from Babbles Travels suggested I come watch because I asked her about her hair stick. I'm so glad I listened. You did great. I can't wait to see more. :)
Aw thank you! I can't believe Grace bought one so fast!! haha!! She's so funny!
Thank you for a cosy, nice first episode of your podcast. So right up my "love for yarn- and knitting-alley" :). Looking forward to the next episode. I loved to hear your story about having your own yarn made. Back to basic, I like that. I knit (a lot) and I also plant dye. My closest neighbours are over hundred sheep, so yes, I live rural :). I´m from the woolen country Norway. Wool has been - and still is - very important for us to keep us from freezing. Nothing beats this fabric/fiber. I´ve seen your halloween themed skeins on your instagram stories lately. I fell in love. I haven't bought any varigated/speckled yarns yet - but wow - some of those skeins I really would like to have. I´ll try to get hold of some in your shop update.
Hi Nina! So glad you like it- I think it will get cosier as the Winter comes in :) I love all your thoughts about wool and warmth- so so true! I hope you manage to get a skein of the Halloween Yarn and that you LOVE it!!!
Great first episode! It was really interesting hearing about how you source your wool, I love hearing about the sustainability aspect of knitting!
Thanks so much for watching!! And for your sweet words. :)
Hello, I'm happy to have found you. I enjoyed your podcast😊
Oh yay! I'm so glad to hear!
What a lovely podcast! Congrats on Episode 1, Emma. I hope to watch many, many more episodes. I loved hearing all about your projects and how you want to source local fibre. Well done!
Thank you! Yeah local fibre is definitely happening for WMFC- so exciting! Thanks for watching
Hello Emma! I absolutely loved your podcast! Such beautiful aesthetic and content. I am also knitting the weekender, and I think you will love the tubular cast on! It produces such a polished edge.
Thanks for watching! Ohh that's fun. I've actually just got the sleeves to go now- the cast on was fine, just a bit slow because I wasn't used to it! But it does produce a nice effect!
Eeek, this was so great! Felt just like sitting in your living room having a chat! I've been eyeing up that Anna Jones book for a while now, I think you might have just convinced me to finally buy it :) So proud of you, as always xxx
Awwwwww wee Anna hugggggsssssss!!!!! Please come to my living room anytime
Such a sweet first episode, Emma! I hope you continue to make podcasts! ❤️
I will! Thank- you
Where did you buy your sock blockers from....somewhere in ?Norway?
Congratulations on your first episode! This was a joy to watch 💛
Yay! Glad you enjoyed it :)
Yay! So wonderful you're doing a podcast :) I need to look into that hair stick. My hair is thick as well and I've just always assumed those type of things won't work for me. You've got some really interesting and exciting wool plans!
Thanks for watching Lina! I hope you find a good hair stick! There should be a package coming your way shortly
So looking forward to that package
I'm so excited for your podcast!! I really enjoyed watching. :)
YAY!! Thank you!
You’re a natural! Great podcast! Tip for your shawl, add a lifeline before doing the drop stitch section 😊.
I definitely will!! I hear people use dental floss? I usually use a piece of yarn but that sometimes makes it hard to get the stitches on again after a mistake.
congrats on getting your 1st episode out :D ... love it!
please include a link to your website and social in your description box :)
Hi Emma, I just discovered your podcast, I really love it!! :)
Woo hoo! You did it! I was right....you are brilliant! Start working on Episode 2!!😊😘
Aw thank you Kate, hope you are having a blast at Rhinebeck! Thanks for watching and for the encouragement!
Loved the first episode! Oh and that hairstick! I had a wooden one years ago that i lost and have been looking for a nice on ever since..so happy you mentioned it ☺️ I have one from mane message that is made from brass but i really wanted a wooden one. And i love the idea of you having yarn made ❤️
Thanks Lærke! Yeah I love the hair stick- definitely going to invest in a big one for my whole hair! Thanks for watching
lovley first episode
I'm so glad you are doing non superwash wool. You are in the minority. I try not to buy superwash wool but sometimes the colors just take you hostage. But I hear they are not as warm and they do feel different. Congrats and good luck!
Interesting podcast...thank you. I was waiting to hear your name and maybe where you live, as I hadn't come across you before.
Wonderful podcast!
Thanks!
Hi - lovely first episode :) Andrea Mowry does a you-tube tutorial for the Weekender tubular cast on - it was attached to her last newsletter. Beautiful new yarns colours :)
Aw thank you so much for watching! Ohh interesting- I should sign up to that! Thanks for letting me know xo
Hurray for episode one! I love hearing about the wool you use for your company and where it all comes from. 🍂
Thanks Lindsay! And thank you for watching. I love your podcast and hearing all about your experiments! I'm going to go and subscribe to all the podcasts I watch tonight, so now I don't have to miss out on any! Yay!
I was sold on that hair stick so fast it’s embarrassing. I’ve got a teak one winging its way to me and I’m not even finished the podcast 😂
yessssss!!!! Cant wait to see you wearing it! They're such beautiful objects.
Right at the end you mentioned Louise - I couldn’t make out the name of her podcast
I love the top you are wearing. Where might I find one?
It's a pattern by 100 acts of sewing- Shirt No1. I used Baird McNutt Irish linen.
Karen Peterson lovely podcast 😘
Really interested in how you continue to develop your non nylon sock base. Have you got any Romney or Southdown local to you? Apparently they are great for non felting socks. Also I’m rather confused about the 2ply v 3ply thing as you are right to say 3ply would wear better. Anyway, here’s a link to a great ongoing experiment into handspun socks from specific sheep breeds you may find interesting - knitbettersocks.blogspot.com/p/sock-fiber-review.html
Thank you for this! I have been having a really interesting time looking at this link! Would you be interested in sharing your thoughts in my Ravelry Group- the thread is No Nylon Sock Experiments? www.ravelry.com/discuss/woolly-mammoth-fibre-co/3852243/1-25
