Sorry Tim, would have been better to save the money wasted on materials here and put towards an actual refurb, wheels are rough. And it doesn't even look masked with your work here, just looks nasty. Get them sorted, car deserves a proper fix 👍
Great video...thank you. Mind posting a link to the coarse whetstone? Maybe a final shot of all products used? These are very helpful videos and I don't recognize a couple of the products. The dep, coarse stone, primer etc. Thanks again!
The original factory-fitted wheel weights are incredibly easy to remove with no leftover sticky bits, but no tyre fitters use them and trying to get hold of them is impossible! I always take the wheels off, remove the wheels weights and use (destroy!) my finger nails to get rid of it before I have new tyres fitted.
Just find a set of wheels, change them out and have them powder coated or re-lacquered. I just had mine done included straightening 3 and tires off and on again with balancing, it was 500 €, powder coated and looking better then new.

Yeah, think I agree. For the cost of a refurb, probably worth doing.
Yes. A poor rim job
Timm, the amount of DIYs I have done following your videos is amazing. Good work as always!
Merry Christmas Timm! And Happy New year 🎉
Hi Tim, hope you had a good Xmas! All the best to you and yours for 2025.
They do look a whole lot better but....maybe to tart up & sell but if l was keeping it then l'd want it done properly.
Definitely a full wheel refurbishment required here!!
Hi Timm do you know how much chemicals you use on your driveway and also out in to your garden when you do this job?
Do you have Falken run flats on the Z4?
Have to agree with the other comments, those are too far gone for a DIY tart up unless it was being sold
how the f in the uk every single alloy is scuffed is just unbelievable to me.
Even more unbelievable that you’ve seen every alloy in the UK, impressive.
