Tried for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Having grown up on both coasts I was spoiled without knowing it because I only knew good homemade East Coast pizza, Ray’s Original in NYC, North End Boston Pizzerias, places on Federal Hill in Providence. After 30+ years here in LA/Valley I’ve pretty much had most of the pizzas from the places that have good reputations and known for quality NY style pizza, such as Joe’s, Mulberry Street, Pizza Wagon of Brooklyn etc. and they deserve their good reps. But, I’ve got to say I haven’t had pizza as good as Weirdough’s ever. I can’t say enough about how delicious the pizza is. I picked up my pizza and had a few minutes wait for my pizza to finish up in the oven. During that time I met the pizza master Papa Vin who was such a nice guy. I was really impressed with the huge and beautiful sharing table in the space and Papa Vin told me how he actually MADE the table! Seriously! Also met two lovely ladies who were super nice and just as friendly as Papa Vin. After getting home with my personally crafted Papa Vin half cheese/half pepperoni pie I literally had a religious moment from first bite. Hands down the best pizza I’ve ever had. I am now a “Weirdough” devotee. I HUGELY recommend everyone who loves pizza, appreciates true craftsmanship and quality you MUST try Weirdoughs and say Hi to Papa Vin and team when you pick up your pie. Then get ready to become a Weirdough once you’ve had a a taste of pizza as it should be.
Everyone was very cool when I was there, but I try to keep a low profile when I'm reviewing pizzerias, so I didn't get to chat much with Papa Vin. Great pizza to be sure, but I really wish he offered it by the slice and was opened more than 2 days a week.
You might also like Petramale Pizza in Mar Vista. Very similar to Weirdough's. 🍕🍕👍

I think it was around $27 bucks, but it might be more if u get toppings on the whole pie. Judging by the one I got, totally worth it. 🍕🍕👍

We were so sad when Papa Vin and Daniella left our town in NJ to move to CA. He makes the best pizza, ever. If only he shipped half baked pies to Saratoga, NY!
