Hi, I never got to meet Brian Hyland must have been great! but I got to see him live once! thinking to myself is just a bubble gum singer doing his hit or two! I was totally wrong he stole the show he was absolutely brilliant when you think there are the likes of Chris Montez on the bill and other greats to but Brian blew me away great Musician even the best of us can get it wrong lol Nige

Had this in my head but no idea who sang it! I was 6 when this was released. Had no idea Lyndsey De Paul co-wrote the song: my god I had a crush on that girl! She was so gorgeous. Great times, great songs: the music of the 70s was awesome, something totally different every week! In the top 20, you could have Reggae, Rock, Prog, Rhythm & Blues, Pop and sometimes, even Classical Orchestral! Today....its a load of crap that all sounds the same performed by utterly talentless nobodies.

    🌸🌸Storm in a Teacup🌸🌸
    Pitter patter Pitter patter (4x)
    One drop of rain
    On your window pane
    Doesn't mean to say
    There's a thunderstorm comin'
    The rain may pour
    For an hour or more
    But it doesn't matter
    You know it doesn't matter

First heard this in 1983 on my way to work (in my fiat 128 abath), in a job I hated, at a pretty low point in my young life, and it instantly lifted me. The sun came out, the windows came down and radio went up. It didn’t matter what was going to happen that day, so long as I had this tune in my head……

    Lyrics:
One drop of rain on your window pane
doesn't mean to say there's a thunderstorm coming
rain may fall for an hour or more
but it doesn't matter , you know it doesn't matter.
one gentle breeze blowing softly through the trees
doesn't mean to say there's a hurricane humming
don't start running every time you here it coming
'cause it doesn't matter, you know it doesn't matter
one little word that you may've overheard
doesn't mean to say that my love for you is dying
don't start crying over second hand lying
say it doesn't matter, you know it doesn't matter
    [CHORUS]
    It's a storm in a teacup
brewing up double of those tiny little troubles
    It's a storm in a teacup
it really doesn't matter if it pitter pitter patters
    (it doesn't matter)
    (ooohhhhh)
    [smooth solo]
one little word that you may've overheard
doesn't mean to say that my love for you is dying
don't start crying over second hand lying
say it doesn't matter, you know it doesn't matter
    CHORUS]
    It's a storm in a teacup
brewing up double of those tiny little troubles
    It's a storm in a teacup
it really doesn't matter if it pitter pitter patters
    (it doesn't matter)
    (ooohhhhh)
    [another smooth solo]
One drop of rain on your window pane
doesn't mean to say there's a thunderstorm coming
rain may fall for an hour or more
but it doesn't matter , you know it doesn't matter.
one little breeze throwing something through the trees
doesn't mean to say there's a hurricane humming
don't start running every time you here it coming
'cause it doesn't matter, you know it doesn't matter
this is rather fitting for these troubling times I would say and this song just has weekend vibes as this was played over the radio at breakfast

Fabulous record! Discovered this by accident but it threw me straight back to my teenage years when I loved the beat and melody and would sing along enthusiastically! It was an out of body experience virtually pulled back through a time tunnel. Gosh, I loved this - and find I still do.....AND remembered ALL the words straight away.....😍🥹

This is a nice song. There are live versions of the song, by the Fortunes, elsewhere on UA-cam. These versions go into the chorus after the second verse.
This version goes into the chorus after verse three so it takes longer to get to the hook. I wonder if getting to the point quicker would have made a difference, chart wise, when this song came out.
    Just a very rambling thought.
Thanks for the upload, memories eh?

first saw the fortunes 1973 while on club circuit in them days quality bands would stop off at a social or working mens club before going on to a theatre, i remember the compare calling them on stage but they wanted to finish their game of snooker.
we followed them on to theatre club but was rejected ay door for under age reasons.
saw them agin in the 80s more of a comedy act mixed with music.
last time i saw them was about a year before rod died, he still had his super voice which no one has ever been able to copy hence why mcartney nicknamed him golden tonsils.
