I am not aware of doing this in Airtable. Thank you for introducing this video and I look forward to see more video and hopefully I can join your free webinar about Airtable.
What Up Gareth, I left Airtable and tried out others, they didn't work and they didn't give me the functionality I need. Now I'm Excited to be back with all the new stuff - interfaces - going on. Thanks for being CONSTANT....
Welcome back! As a company and a channel, we've expanded to include more tools than just Airtable, but it's still a primary tool we use in almost all of our projects! Lots of cool new things to explore. 💪
This was so very valuable. I was struggling to introduce my class to a database and Airtable is a very accessible way to do that. Your training helped very much in getting me to structure my class presentation. THANK YOU!
Incredibly helpful video! With just this video I've been able to create the first version of my business CRM database and have a really good understanding of my next steps. Thank you!
An observation shared with the intention of helping you improve your viewer experience.... Love the window of your face during the demonstrative portions of the video (or dramatically reduce it's size). It block views of the UI that prevent people from seeing everything. As a man who rocked the Bald/beard look for many years, you're obviously very handsome, but the popup takes away from the ability to fully see the screen. All that said, thanks for the video. I did find it helpful and dropped a like.
Appreciate the feedback here, Graham. I wonder if there's a specific part during this video where the picture in picture was covering a part of the UI that needed attention? Always looking to improve our editing 🙏
Thank you very much! As a start up businiess, keeping track of projects and process is a pain in the a**.. I was also studying on templates, but since you recommend to build it from scratch, it enlightened me so much that now I have the freedom to use my own process.. Again, thank you Sir
I want a contacts table, many-to-many. That way, we don't have the issues with multiple tables (customer contact, company, vendor, etc). Do you have a sample of that? We are also looking for a consultant, and one who shares our philosophy on airtable/data structure. Thanks!
Hi! Yes, you can do these calculations, although not quite as easily as you can in a spreadsheet. This generally requires that you summarize your data by linking it with a summary table. You may want to explore this video for reference: ua-cam.com/video/jbbaEROrT-k/v-deo.html
Yes you can, but you will lose some functionality. I suspect you'll want to upgrade to a paid plan in time due to the more advanced features that come with paid plans.
Generally by creating a new table for INTERACTIONS that connects to CLIENTS - you can then capture interactions automatically (watch your email and create records in your base, for example)
Thanks for the vid. I was looking at transferring a project mgt DB from Access to Airtable. It has 28 data tables. Is there a point where a proposed Airtable project becomes outside the scope of Airtable usability just based on the number of tables? The record limit with Airtable is that based on the maximum number of records in any table or all table records combined?
I haven't seen anyone reach the max number of tables before, but the record limitation includes all of the tables within the base. So, if you have 28 tables, each with 100 records, your base would have 2,800 records. The max records for the PRO plan is 50,000 - and the other tiers vary down from there.
@@GarethPronovost thanks for confirming this. I would have to come up with a method for exporting data on old projects for posterity so they can then be deleted to free up more records. As for the number of tables, it wasn't so much an issue with limit I was concerned about as I have managed to create them already rather it was I was getting your opinion on the practicality of having such a DB in airtable. cheers
If I wanted to create a very basic crm for a charity that I support, can I do so with my own pro account and create a small application for them to use 'read only' under my license?
@@GarethPronovost what would be the best/cheapest way to give a decent user interface for the charity to list all animals, or all customers with a list of their animals?
Hey Gareth, thank you for sharing so much value! I’m looking to create a CRM that tracks the different stages of our leads & clients and relevant information. The way I see it, grid views = smart views where you can filter different information. Therefore, when the lead becomes a client, we would have multiple grid views. For example, All clients database Payment Coaching Feedback Onboarding What do you think? I haven’t seen you use multiple grid views under 1 tab, so I’m wondering if I’m missing out on something here? The reason why I want to have grid views under one tab is so the CRM can be complete and not too cluttered. Let me know what you think! I would really appreciate your take on this! 😃
The crm tabs would be Leads (This would work as the general sales crm and have multiple grid views with useful information for sales reps) Program 1 (This would be a crm for the individual coaching program. There would be multiple grid view with useful information and a dedicated space for the team to find information) We could have the sales crm and client crm on different bases, but maybe it’s better to have these 2 crm’s linked and only in one base.
Hi! It's true that for our UA-cam examples we don't create many views, but in practice we create TONS of views! So yes, I'd say you're on the right track here! Typically my videos have specific requirements so multiple views aren't needed, but most bases will absolutely have many many views per table!
love watching your tutorials. However, there isn't one video tutorial to aim to the Medical Credentialing world. How to track verification process, providers information, tracking all submitted applications. It would be nice if you and your team can look in to that. I absolutely love watching your teachings

Hi! Yes, you can do these calculations, although not quite as easily as you can in a spreadsheet. This generally requires that you summarize your data by linking it with a summary table. You may want to explore this video for reference: ua-cam.com/video/jbbaEROrT-k/v-deo.html
Hi, it's so interesting how your tutorials help me a lot. However, I want to ask: Can I use the free plan of Airtable to build this CRM system?
Yes you can, but you will lose some functionality. I suspect you'll want to upgrade to a paid plan in time due to the more advanced features that come with paid plans.
How would you incorporate notes (e.g emails sent to clients) in projects?
Generally by creating a new table for INTERACTIONS that connects to CLIENTS - you can then capture interactions automatically (watch your email and create records in your base, for example)

Yes indeed. There are third party tools you could use to display the data (like softr.io) or you could share read-only views of your Airtable base.

This is more of a project management /task tracker than a CRM. A CRM looks at collecting all interactions with clients
