- One of my viewers called it! This adventure was everything but easy, or pretty, but the reward made up for all the trouble.
I was in this area before. That's where I found the silver jewelry ( • Mission: SILVER JEWELR... ). It's loud and trashy, but someone has to do it, right? No quite, the area was already "cleaned out" pretty well. When you find rusty Pfennig coins, but no copper coins around it, it's one of many indicators...
The silver coin was basically on the surface. How is this possible? Well, my friend the #metaldetecting boar could have brought the coin to the surface at some point in time. I have no other explanation for this. He also left some teeth marks on the golf ball.
It was a U.S. Washington (silver) Quarter from 1946! A big surprise after hard work.
I also found a few U.S. Wheat Pennies from 1957. Sadly, judging by the state of the coins, this soil must have been very acidic.

Excellent US coinage. I'll be looking for the silver quarter tomorrow morning. I bought 2 $50 bags of pennies in @ 1970's. One bag contained 5000 shiny 1957D Wheats, the other had 5000 1958D's!! No, I didn't keep either one. Today each of them would be worth 10 cents each......

I think it would be great (in your case) to collect all the U.S. coins back in the day. Also buy coin rolls from the bank, in order to find silver coins... Now it's too late.
I think, we need a time machine!
Wingsandbeaks ~ Excellent hunt. That quarter is a great find, as was the toy gun. I enjoy knowing the dates on the coins. Good job with that. The telling of the quarter find was known in the Bible as a “word of wisdom”. It’s a gift of the Holy Spirit. Other powers are 😖.
