    As for the last question, when finding out the length of the chord, you can also use the Sine Rule.
    You know that it's an isosceles triangle because two of the lengths are equal. The base angles are equal, and they are 30 degrees each. So now you know all the angles and all the sides except one so you can find that one out using the Sine Rule.

    At 5:00 you got 982.969 but on my calculator it said 982.4711111? So if I put 982.5, would it be deemed as incorrect? By the way, neat videos.

    • @parijat8166
      @parijat8166 5 років тому

      @@kingofblox2976 355.3 is right, but 982.5 is wrong. This happens when you round off values and use them before getting the final answer.

    Hi Mr Hegarty
    we use your you tube videos in our lessons as adult learners wish you had been about doing this 20 years ago
    I've been diagnosed dyslexic with numbers last year
    I have to say without too much gushing that you are a great teacher I've not been over everything you've posted but love the way you teach especially if you do a step by step approach like
    3x4 squared gives you 16 so when you add this to your formula of volume 9 + 16 = 25 then break it down a little for discalculia people
    as sometimes I wonder where a number came from because my thinking and working out is rusty and muddled too so you do a little more basic introduction as the education system let me down very badly there's gaps in my basic learning in maths
    Much thanks for your hard work over the years I hope you win the maths prize you are selfless and brilliant👍

    What I want to understand, is for the 4th question where you have the right angle, why don't you just work out the circumference and then x by 0.75 to get 3/4 of the circumference which is the same answer?
