3rd Gen 4Runner Offroading In Colorado
Вставка
- Опубліковано 10 вер 2020
- A short compilation of clips I collected over the last couple months driving my 4Runner, Roxy, through the back trails of Colorado. She's a beast and has eaten up every trail I've thrown her way. She just got a new e-locked axle and 4.30 gears. More trails soon!

Great, Brasil, south América, rio de janeiro, beatiful city.
You drive calmly and very well, I appreciate your video and will follow along to see your build, I have a '97 LTD that's been swaped manual, rear locker and 4.3 gears
Francis Smallwood Love it! Thanks for the comment, always love hearing from a fellow 3rd gen-er:)
This vid is what waking up in the mountains after a good night sleep feels like. Why you gotta make me miss the mountains so much!?
J. Granger Sorry brotha, someone had to make you miss em;)
I Love to see a FACTORY, BONE STOCK OEM 3RD GEN with minor upgrades out in the wild.
Also, your driving and Off-road prowess and skill set are impressive and sometimes mesmerizing.
I like how you carefully maneuver and navigate through obstacles without causing damage to the car and disturbing the environment.
The scenes are equally breathtakingly gorgeous and calming to the soul.
No Heavy Steel Bumpers, Big Rims and tires, annoying exhaust sounds, winches, stupid roof racks with empty Jerry cans and high lift jack- faking the illusion of a seasoned off roader all the while the Rig is financed at a high interest rate. Stupid Mall Crawlers- I can't stand those bastards.
This here is just a young guy enjoying nature with his lowly 3rd Gen 4x4 truck that he worked hard for, saved up for and paid in cash.
That's why I SUBSCRIBED AND LIKED 👍 THIS CHANNEL. This kid deserves more subs....seriously.
What an inspiration.
Thanks so much brother
Great video. Did this back in September in a rented Jeep. 2 weeks, 2200 miles, camping every night at 10,000’. Fell in love, came home, and bought... a 3rd gen. Thanks for showing me what it’ll look like when I go back in my “new” rig :)
That's so awesome!!! Love hearing that brother. It's all about sharing the experience and inspiring others to do the same. Give me a shout if you got any questions about your 3rd gen:)
This is my dream truck. Can’t wait to get one
Thanks man me too;) I've got one I'm about to sell if you're in the Colorado area haha
@@therealcarterhansen damn, I’m at the very southern part of Arizona rn.
@@zZinqTecz Dang! We’ll keep looking my dude, there are good ones out there. If you need any buying advise feel free to hmu🤙
@@therealcarterhansen thanks man, I’m looking to get this truck and have it last me at least 10-15 years. What’s your advice on the highest miles I should buy one at?
That 4 runner coming out of the the water was so elegant! Awesome build
Thanks man! Appreciate the comment
I wana take mt 3rd gen 4Runner with ya so bad!
Awesome video, I liked it. Cheers from Vancouver, Canada.
KB Autotech & Adventure Cheers fam! Right back at ya from the good old USA⛰✌️
Great video!! 👍🏽
iZay Inferno Thanks fam!
Great video dude!
Kevin Cho Cheers!🙏🏼
Great vid
Thank you!
Wheel, tire and suspension setup? Love the fact that you retained the factory running boards. Really gives an “If Toyota made a TRD 3rd gen vibe”.
Thanks man! It's an awesome truck, can't complain one bit. I'm running 285 75 R16 General Grabber ATx on a 3 inch Bilstein/Toytec lift
@@therealcarterhansen did you need to do any trimmng?
@@yesecastillo4240 Not at all really. I guess just a tiny bit on the front bumper but so little you can’t even see
@@therealcarterhansen great set up. That loft is perfect 90% of what most people do. Not obnoxious and perfectly functional
@@ISLANDSKIN I agree! I think it looks great, but most importantly no rubbing on 33s;)
Very good
Hi there, I like your rig. My goal is to build up my 4runner like yours. I recognize you from FPV Filmz / Carterfilmz / NikoFilmz channels. Its too bad you had that lipo fire happen. Great offroading videos, keep up the good work!
Love it man! Cool to see you coming over from the FPV world;) Feel free to message me on Insta if you have any questions on your build. These 3rd gens are the best🔥
My limited looks like urs haha
Hey what kind of camera or gopro you use?
On this one I used a Sony a6400. I now have an a6000
Can you make video what is the mods in your car
Gameel Alhakimi Certainly! Anything in particular? Just a walk around?
You can pull the driver's side engine bay light harness to disable the auto lights. But this might not work with every 3rd gen and especially if you did the led upgrade which is douchey in my opinion. Urban leds are blinding, but if it's a... Actually it's a low IQ "uograde". Halogens still have wider coverage.
What suspension and tire size is that
General Grabber ATx 285 16 R16 on a 3 inch Bilstein/Toytec lift;)
Great video, you drove beautifully. I've got a 2001, can't believe it did so well. Im looking to improve the factory ride, what are your tires and suspension??
Thanks brotha! I have a 3 inch Bilstein/Toytec lift on 33" General Grabber ATx's. The lift is pretty good. I love the ride height, but the ride is a bit stiff... I absolutely LOVE the tires tho! My biggest tip is to air down. I go down to about 12psi and the difference is AWESOME!
What @Carter Hansen said;)
slow and steady wins the race should be Toyotas motto beautiful driving buddy, may you drive another 100k without any maintenance
vincent mule Thanks a million! I’ll let you know when we hit 300k - just passed 200k;)
I've got a 97 Limited(Judy) lifted 265 70 17 Falken AT3 bilstein 5100 322,000 miles looks great runs better all original drive line drive anywhere tomorrow.
Also have 99 SR5 215,000 bilstein 5100 Falken 265 70 16 in 21 yrs never left me stranded or stuck always starts runs perfect drive anywhere tomorrow with no worries. Her name is Grace because she's freaking amazing !
If you own a 4Runner you have to name it. They're more dependable than most family members lol.
What headlights are those ?!? Nice !
Thanks! Not sure exactly... I think they're mostly Morimoto. I rebuilt them with the new shrouds and blackout look:)
Thanks! The ones in this video are morimotos. I just built new ones from BXBuilt and they are AWESOME! Stay tuned for a video on them;)
Where’d you get that grille? Also, pretty sure I saw you up on Lead King Basin trail haha🤘🏽🤘🏽
Skyler Taylor Haha that’s awesome I woulda been passing by there for sure🤙 I made the grille myself. It took a bit of work but was wayyy cheaper than buying one. I have a spreadsheet with all the parts if you’re interested
@@PartimeOverland yes yes please, I have a third gen and those grills are north of 250 bucks if u could make a vid or drop instructions that would be sweet
Likewise! Can you please share the excel?
@@PartimeOverland make a video on it for sure
@@blindsk8s I'll make a video on it for sure!
General grabber atx review please??
I had them on a 97 Limited I liked them ok then I bought Falken wildpeak AT3 so far I'm loving them in snow haven't been in any mud yet. Liked them enough when I replaced the over priced K2O BFG on my 99 SR5 I bought the Falkens again.
Yes! They're amazing. I'll have a full review coming out soon;)
What part of Colorado is this? I’ll be here until January and would love to hit this spot
Its up near Marbel - Schofield Pass. But it won't be drivable till probably early summer next year. Colorado mostly shuts down for wheeling in the winter:/
Highly recommend Alpine Loop in Colorado few different levels of 4x4 trails in area.
@@galeaiken3841 The Alpine Loop is one of my favorite! Absolutely stunning. I'll be up there to get some more footage this summer;)
Silverton is the bestest:)
@@therealcarterhansen Black Bear pass put a rattle in my dash of my 3rd Gen I never had before but sooo worth it lol. Lucky it's an interment rattle I think it's morris code for I wanna go back .
Might see you this summer I will be there as well !
We'll be the 3rd gen with the crazy Border Collie hanging out the back window lol .
Now imagine me with a 2wd 😔
Never mind on those I could make it.... I think.
Diego G Haha I’d pay to see that😝 I’ve driven most of these trails in a Subaru... but at least they’re AWD
@@PartimeOverland maybe with the right tires my 4runner could pull through who knows 🤔
