I love this car.. I currently own a 2006 E90 and it's amazing. Next year I'm planning on getting a i4 eDrive40. Gorgeous and also much, much cheaper to maintain and own than a gas powered version (gas prices went up by 35-40% in the past 3 months here in Poland and it's awful)
Excellent review. I want one!! But not at $100k Australian, plus ORC & we haven’t even started on options! We don’t even make car’s here anymore- it’s a Joke!! Anyway I still love my BMW F30 2018 330i m sport shadow edition. 😁
Ha, just finished watching the Throttle House review of the i4 M50 - they said it’s a lot of things, but ‘drivers car’ was definitely not one of them… Quote “a Ford Mach-E SUV should not be more fun and dynamic than a BMW sports sedan, but it is…”
Have a look at all of the other edrive40 reviews. They all say this is a driver's car, and way more so than the M50. The edrive40 is just a better balance of power vs chassis and suspension. I've driven the edrive 40 and can say it's every bit a driver's car, and feels better than my current 4 series Gran Coupe.
Throttle House expected pure M (single digit) performance and started with that mindset. They didn't enter their review of M50 as being a GT car. Like entering a rave party in gala clothing. It just goes wrong. Especially when they drive on soft winter tyres. In this review we hear at 12:00: "steering is sharp and responsive"... driving with summer tyres.
I like these guys, watch their videos all the time but they were also a bit ridiculous in saying they have to be hard on it because "it's a BMW" but "if it was an Audi it would be perfect." It's not meant to be a full fat M car, these car journalists need to stop with their holier than thou BS.

I'm a BMW owner (2018 G30 540i) and a Tesla Model 3. you are a bias toward BMW i4 in this video. I owned the BMW for about 4 years now and I spent about 8000 USD on maintenance so for. Also, I owned the Tesla Model 3 for about 3 years now, and I only spent about 900 USD to replace tires and that is it. yes my BMW is a higher quality car, the seat is more comfortable, the drive is more fun, the car is more stable but at the end, all this better features in BMW cost me about 8000 USD to maintain in 4 years only, but with Tesla it cost me about 900 USD.
