What other card offers 15 damage to the opponent's face in the entirety of hearthstone, let alone classic specifically? That's not to mention the 6/6 divine shield taunt as well.
Also yes he doesn't give hall of fame cards. There are some real powerhouses you can only get out of him if you're really conscious about manipulating him. For example, the only way I can get him to offer whitemane is if you have a lot of minions and so does the opponent, but also the opponent has a lot of large taunts. Without them being taunts, Zephrys assumes you're going to go face even if you're low on life, so offers you bloodlust and such. If he sees you have a large board AND your opponent has large taunts, before you trade, then and only then will he offer whitemane. And good lord is it good when he does.
While I mostly agree, I feel like the card could kinda become problematic in the future, considering how now Blizz will have to plan every future card with the fact in mind, that any class could gain access to any basic/classic card through Zephrys... This could lead to some massive game breaking combos/interactions (while also pretty severely limiting desing space) if they're not careful.
Máté Schneller The situations must be tailored to get a specific card though. You won’t get a Bloodlust without any minions on bord, nor will you get Twisting on an empty board. The correct set up is required in advance to get the card you want
About your Windfury comment: It's been powerful burst damage for a long time, but the biggest issue is having to run Windfury in your deck. I used to run it a lot, but the issue was, outside of setting up lethal it was virtually pointless. With Zephrys, you have a Swiss Army Knife that can ALSO get Windfury. What a cool card. Props to the design team.
There needs to be either a Tavern Brawl or an encounter in a future PvE encounter where the opponent has Zephrys' effect as a 0 mana Battlecry. Nothing in the deck, just "the perfect card" every turn. I want to see how that game plays out.
Kripp didn't mention the card I most often get from Zephrys: Mountain Giant. By playing him with a nearly full hand you can all but guarantee a Mountain Giant.

I don't mind that he sometimes misses cards- it makes perfect sense for him to think consecration was better than mass dispel as cons gets rid of like 8/8 on the board. I do think he should show the three cards not in a random order though- he should show them based on his confidence level. The left one is the most realistic/best in his opinion, while the right one is least likely to work/most optimistic. Maybe that's just me but I'd really like to know what he thinks the exact perfect card is, rather than just a range of 3, and then massively analyse that exact card and why he thinks it's better than the card I was thinking of.
The perfect example of this is the tempo Zephrys. He offers wild growth, animal companion and brightwing, which kripp clearly states the best is easily animal companion, and brightwing is easily the worst. If he has reason to offer a backstab or silence- say your opponent has a totem- he'll still offer you three drops, but the one he'll replace with that silence/backstab is the animal companion, so he clearly thinks that's the worst of those three cards, despite it being the best.
It's important to remember that Zephrys doesn't know what cards you have in hand, or what deck you are playing. His choices are based purely on the board state. It could be that the card you are thinking of is better for your hand, but Zephrys doesn't know it.
If Kripp hadn't used coin it would have been lightning storm, which is arguably better in the situation. Just goes to show the variety. I think it if it told you a "confidence level" it would remove some of the skill aspect of the card. If you can't figure out the best card out of 3, then what are you gonna do with 18 deck slots?

Hope they'll fix it and he will give the real best options. I think, he can't count 'green stats', I know he can't count zero damage minions as a source of damage, and he can't count your frozen but ready to attack minion as a source of damage with 0 mana silence. About green stats - he offered me twisting nether, Tirion and black knight against the board of two 9/9 (1/1 originally) scarabs, while I'd rather prefer mass dispell... like, after that one you'll have 3/2 in play against two 1/1s and also some mana to spend and one draw, unlike nether.
Wonder if we can see things like Coldlight Oracle if the opponent has a full hand/empty deck, and you are low on cards. Gonna have to wait and see I guess. Perhaps there are other options that are always better than Coldlight.
Zephrys only looks at the board, each player's health, and your available and max mana values. He does not consider hero powers, deck size, hand size, or anything else. On top of that, he can't give hall of fame cards, so no coldlight for you.
Correction: I think he considers hero powers regarding damaging minions or players, but not anything more complicated like shaman's quest power. I wonder if he considers priest's quest hero power for calculating lethal...
@@Parallaces He considers Hand Size, as Mountain Giant is a valid offer if you can play it right after playing him. So he could read that drawing your opponent cards would kill them. Kripp, so you are saying that hunter can OTK on turn 9 if oppenent has full board without taunt? You just play timber wolf + unleash the hounds + savage roar from Zephrys
It seems only spells are offered if you cannot play a minion at the very moment. Might be important. If you want a black knight run in a dog before you play him.
Funnily enough, Zephrys doesn't (or at least didn't a few days ago) recognise that you can silence your own frozen minions to gain lethal (HysteriA made a video about ways Zephrys may miss lethal)

Does he offer Hall of Famed cards in wild?
No. In Standard he doesn't offer all standard cards, only Classic and Basic. Same in Wild.
@@Parallaces He considers Hand Size, as Mountain Giant is a valid offer if you can play it right after playing him. So he could read that drawing your opponent cards would kill them. But Coldlight and Naturalize are both hall of fame'd, so there's nothing he can offer you to force draws for your opponent.
Kripp, so you are saying that hunter can OTK on turn 9 if oppenent has full board without taunt? You just play timber wolf + unleash the hounds + savage roar from Zephrys
That would be just 20 damage if I'm not mistaken.
It seems only spells are offered if you cannot play a minion at the very moment. Might be important. If you want a black knight run in a dog before you play him.
Dude, 500 IQ, you are probably right
Dude thanks God the science update
It takes your hand into consideration
Thanks God I didn't dust him. Played him with quest shaman and lost me the game since I thought it was more of an RNG type card
Great video :)
Good tips for all
Kripp would make a great fortuneteller :D
Funnily enough, Zephrys doesn't (or at least didn't a few days ago) recognise that you can silence your own frozen minions to gain lethal (HysteriA made a video about ways Zephrys may miss lethal)
Top 10 cards (edit: In my opinion)
Mass dispel
Fireball
Black Knight
Tirion
Wild growth
Blizzard
Silence
Backstab
Savannah highmane
Soul of the forest
Can someone please tell me how to get a Flare off Zephrys consistently? Thanks.
They better add more highlander synergy in the next expansion. I need more highlander options.....
Okay, I have basically no cards. A fraction of the classic set, and like 10 packs open on current standard rotation. I'm crafting this card ASAP if I actually have any dust. I don't know if that's a good decision, but, I think it actually is. Update: I had barely enough dust and did it, first legendary I've ever crafted!
U need singleton decks which are very dust heavy..Zilliax was your answer, solid card.
"Most of the time you are going to get what you expect to see, if you know what card you are looking for" lmao... I know what he means but it sounds funny
