Thank you for the video, we are planning a trip to Alicante for winter 2025 and the trains and trams open up many possibilities for us as we will not be renting a car! It is nice to get a look ahead so we are more familiar with what to expect! It did indeed look a lot like Arizona in some places!🥂💕🇨🇦
Visiting Spain, we just took the Renfe from Barcelona to Valencia. Mask were still mandatory, but the café car and "catering" were open and available. Average speed 180km/hr.
Siemens Velaro is S103 in Renfe Classification. S100 is the TGV derived. From Madrid Atocha to Frankfurt Am Main Hbf by train take the S100 AVE to Lyon/Avignon then change to a TGV Euroduplex at Lyon/Avignon for Frankfurt Am Main Hbf via Strasbourg if possible. Otherwise overnight at Avignon/Lyon .
This Spanish velaro is different bc they had to adjust the train sets to the Spanish standards and technology. They were all built in Spain in collab with Talgo
@@axwleurope9519 thanks for telling me about that. My thinking was that they were made in Krefeld then shipped from there to Portbou by SNCF BB37000. From Portbou to Madrid Atocha S252 1.668m track gauge with S103 on transporter bogies.
@@axwleurope9519 They were only in part built in Spain, especially after all the quality problems they apparently experienced. The majority was built in the regular Siemens plants in Germany and in the Czech Republic. Some cars were assembled in Spain, most were not.
Good video, your suggestions are good, but when dealing with Renfe we are used to cope with illogical, nonsense timetables and fare systems, lines arrangement and organization and so on.
Doc, enjoy watching all of your vids but your "wishlist" is as unrealistic as my expecting to win the lottery any time I buy a ticket. You need to spend at least 3 months in the accounting department of Renfe. "it seems I was the only person to go to Alicante"...... and you want to increase the number of daily trains???
The Spanish high speed trains and infrastructure are amazing
Totally agree. I have used it a lot of times and I completely agree with you
I love that unusual nose of S-102.. it is an unique design..
in spain we love it as much as you! 🥰 That shape is quite distinctive 😂😂🦆
😎 Cool, these Spanish Trains.

The AVE S112, the best Spanish high-speed train in the world

As you can see, there are any cities near the line
Update: as of today, there are 37 services Madrid-Alicante-Madrid
by just renfe ?
How was the Talgo ride quality?
This was a suitable length video , LOL😆😆😆😆
3:00 it’s a S-103 no a S-102
Where in the consist is the “First Class Club Room” located? Is it a lounge?
that club room is located in the end of the last first class car
Trying to book High Speed/Bullet train Alicante-Madrid for Friday July 8th but not having any success. Does anyone have any idea why please?
try again in june - do not book such ticket more than 30 min in advance
@@doc7austin thank you
Salut Prietene 🙋🙋
Nice, but I prefer a slower pace complete with sleeper cars, restaurant cars and lots of delays. :)

Tip for travellers. Did this trip recently and you need to watch out for thieves.
In the train? I doubt it
@@olimpusm Never on the train. If in a city, just keep yourself away from gypsies and you're good.
Either you're an English envious of Spanish infrastructures or the thieve was you 😂
Lies, I do this exact trip four times a year normally and never... even letting my ipad there while I go to the bathroom
