  • Hey guys, I am living in Seattle using Landing Standby. In the month of January, I had to move 4 times which was pretty wild. I work remote so this living set up works pretty well for me.

    This is an inspiriting video. Do you keep a storage space or apartment rental back in Arizona or did you get rid of your stuff before embarking on the lifestyle?

      I have been remote/traveling around since 2021. I do not have anything stored in Arizona. But I do have personal belongings back home in California

    Still feeling good about it? Thinking about trying it out, but all of the things in Reddit look concerning, haha. Otherwise, a great concept that looks very appealing.

      @KentonVizdos I have lived in 5 landings (1 in AZ 4 in WA), and I have not had any issues so far, other than getting bumped, which is part of the deal. Their support team responds quickly too. Let me know if you have specific questions!

      @@wadacoco Still about $1500 a month? One complaint I heard was you have a reservation and you don’t get the minimum 3 days any longer meaning they can bump you before even getting there.

    • @wadacoco
      @wadacoco  2 місяці тому

      @@markreid7 The standard rate is $1500 for standby. I think they have seasonal promotion during slower months. It was 1295 December 2023 and Jan 2024. You aren't guaranteed a 3 day minimum stay. The only thing that is guaranteed is that if you are in a unit, you have minimum of 3 days to move if you get bumped. So yes, you could get bumped before you even get there. I wouldn't plan ahead of time if you want to do standby, you live where its available at that time.

    Hello, Taku. We're so glad we found your channel and this video, as we've been considering Hello Landing Standby for when our lease expires next month, but have of course seen a lot of not so great reviews of the program out there. It sounds like your experience has been pretty decent so far! We do have a question I'm hoping you can answer. When we look at all of the available stand-by units in our city (St. Pete, FL), the vast majority of them state that "parking is unavailable"... from your experience, does this really mean you cannot park at these properties? Or is it usually a situation where you just might have to pay an extra fee to park? Also, we would love to know how your experience has been since you posted the video! If you keep doing these videos, they could probably really gain some traction!

      @Explorcation Thanks for the comment! I have also seen LOTS of negative comments online, but my experience has been nothing but positive so far. Almost all unit says "parking unavailable" but if you call the customer support team, they will be able to find properties with parking. Some are free, some you have to pay extra, if you get bumped, it will be prorated. This has been my experience in Seattle, Washington, and I would imagine it would be the same in Florida.
      Thank you so much for the encouragement. I just started this channel on a whim, and will make a video again very soon. I have been bumped 3 more times since this was recorded in February lol

      @@wadacoco Thanks for getting back to me, Taku! It's nice to hear that your experience has been quite positive so far. It does sound like you're getting bumped fairly often, but after all that's what you sign up for! I have a feeling most of the people leaving bad reviews didn't really take the time to research the program before hand. Hearing your experience with the parking situation does help us get more comfortable with the program. We'll be looking forward to your next Landing video, and if we do sign up, we'll use your code!

      @@Explorcation I will add a few more things to consider. Seasonality is definitely a thing. During the holiday season in November and December, I was able to stay for over 2 months without getting bumped. January and February were busier as it is the new year. I am seeing a lot more slow down in March. We will see how summer goes. I also found having a public storage to be very useful to reduce the volume of things you have to move around. I appreciate you ! Let me know if you have more questions :D

      @@wadacoco wow thanks so much. We figured seasonality would be a big factor especially down here in Florida. From what I've read there is a huge waitlist during winter months, but lots of availability in the summer, which makes a lot of sense. The storage unit is a great tip. With all of the money saved on rent, can definitely find room in the budget for a storage unit. Thanks again!

      We are going to try out landing for the month of May in Portland. When I look at the standby listing I see that Seattle has a waiting list for standby now. Are you still getting reservations there or did you have to try another city?

      After this was recorded, I have been bumped 3 times.
      Last property I recorded from in February (1st bump) -> Lived in a unit 3 weeks (2nd bump) -> Lived in a unit for a week -> Currently have been living in this unit for 3 weeks now.
      I will make a video about it if you are interested !
