Amazing to listen to these new developments. I recently left Pier 2 after working there for around 25 years ( MIS Department ), and this is certainly needed. The performance of the port is poor; however, they have fantastic and capable people who just need leadership, etc. They will be achieving 32 to 35 GCH in no time with the competent QC & RTG operators, this is the backbone of the operations.
ICTSI is to manage the containerisation logistics following an "upgrade" of the facilities. Will the Filipino Company be in a position to navigate the cultural differences in the domestic labour force and unions? Why did Grindrod fail? The Company gets a "license" ... how the heck does this translate into shares! What transnet assets are involved in this arrangement? The devil is in the detail. Was there public participation?
Durban port reached its limit a long time ago. The road and rail infrastructure is a major choke point. Stop talking about upgrading the port when South Coast road and Edwin Swales Drive are falling apart. The traffic is controlled by woonga addict vagrants when the traffic lights arent working, for goodness sake. At night there are no street lights, anywhere in South Durban, its rediculous. Durban port is 300 years old according to this guy and the cow jumped over the moon too.

Why do people buy their headsets from Dis-Chem 🙀 what I could hear, it’s great news. Private sector making government superfluous 🤝
Sea, Land and Air, they have destroyed all of it !
