- This is a quick little lesson of the song "Road to Spencer" by Ricky Skaggs. This is my own version of the song, but it's pretty damn close.

That mandolin has the sweetest head I've ever seen
Thanks Lewin! I was looking for the live Ricky Skaggs video to learn this song and stumbled upon your video.
Good video, helped me transcribe it to guitar...thanks for posting. One note for others using this: it seems like the first half of part A is correct, but the second half of A is skipped and goes straight to the B part. (around the 3:30 mark). The second half of part A begins on the A note one step down and mimics the first half, plus a turn around. Everything else seems correct. Thanks again.
Thanks, I noticed it as well...
Yep
Thanks Lewin , You straightened me out on that second part , or phrase, like you I learned to play it from the albumn ..:)
Coincidentally Lewin , I also use a Wiegen Pick identical to yours , . Got it from a good Mando friend from Canada ...I was not so blown away by the Blue Chip , and previous to the Wiegen I was using Golden Gate Picks .
The Wiegen pick is great for Speed issues ....
Look at his hands and listen to the notes he is playing. These types of lessons help develop you as a musician
thanks for the video. I wish you would have shown the turnaround.
It would be awesome if you posted the whole song man!! Thanks though!
nice man, you look familiar. Have we jammed before?
Thanks, Good start, but the end of the first phrase is not very clear.
Another 'lesson' where the 'teacher' (so called) just plays it over and over again, and expects us to magically know which notes to play.
