Luke is like no one else with the notes he chooses to lay over the simple chords given to him. A jazz player would only venture out this far, but it's 100% shred. So much more interesting than anyone else I've heard yet. I've been waiting on something this complex that truly stands out. A+
The best shredds, Video 8, 7/12 in Sweden 0:21 Luke Jeansome 0:42 Noah Crenshaw 1:25 Syndrone 5:48 (no name entry) William Le Roux When analyzing what guitar style and tone I enjoy, it is obvious that I like Polyphia. Steve Vai on Ego Death was my gateway to Polyphia. It feels so long ago. The day I saw Tim started a new chapter of my life that has given me so much. My door to Vai was through Zappa. My criteria when listening: Instant gratification … the wow and cool factor. Want to hear more … tasty … sweet spotts … the tone … If this was my roommate would I survive the daily frets? Memorability … melodic … Originality … composing skill
Wow, Jared...that was spectacular....it just never got boring...I found myself watching anticipating to find out what the next player was going to do over that progression...thanks for featuring all of these captivating players, man. Hope you and yours are doing great!
The playing on all these shorts is phenomenal but whoever edited this video should be given a ton of credit. They did an excellent job of selecting the sequence. I know it’s a grid backing track making the player to player transitions easier but the order of each guitar in the overall video is really well thought out. It holds up as an audio only composition as well as an entertaining video.
So many good entries here. 0:42 Noah with his melodic ninja tricks, 1:03 Onyx with his crazy sweeping, 1:25 Syndrone with his vibey solo over his backing track, 2:25 Bryan Dilionis - that second half with all the economy + sweeping was 🔥I have to learn that!
The Shred Collab 5 boys are in here! My favorite compilation Jared posted so far by a mile. Syndrone has my favorite standout sound going on. I also thought Luke Jeansome, Noah Crenshaw and Marko Celesty had great entries.
some relaly interesting and unique takes this time! less shred shred and more feeling and fancy tricks. syndrone was great! stel andre also was very unique and great.
If all of them are a 10, 1:25 Syndrone was an 11. I must mention some more though: 0:03 AliceiMusic for the monstrous bends 0:21 Luke Jeansome for the Buckethead vibes(hope the sock on the headstock is washed) 0:42 Noah Crenshaw both Buckethead AND Dragonforce vibes, great, lovely, nasal tone 1:03 Onyx Morales (The Human Complex) I could listen to this guy play all day 3:46 Guilherme Santos these guys hands are possessed 4:48 Stel Andre very anthemic, and epic-style tone, I like the simplicity and the recurring theme 5:08 Tuesday there's some groove here I really enjoy, I could dance to it 5:48 (no name entry) William Le Roux the most legit rock solo, I appreciate the courage of ending it with those two chords instead of scale runs
Particularily fantastic set of guitarists on this one! I kept replaying Luke Jeansonne...everything about that stood out. The melody and style caught my attention. Not too many technical deathcore type of solos have popped up in any of these collab vids. Rings of Saturn type of flair. Favorite...but tech death hits me right. Noe Sabban when he kicks in with a tasty melody amongst all his shredding. Favorite tone and feel-good guitar jam of the group. Stel Andre was right up there too. Every note and bend sounded so impossibly smooth, and loved the solo. Lastly, there's something special about Tuesday's lick. Great melody. Another stand out in every way. ❤
So many great takeouts from this one. Luke Jeansome was my favourite but there were so many amazing entries, Alicei, Crenshaw, Onyx, Stel Andre, Tuesday and Celesty this competition is incredible the level is unparalleled we need to nitpick if we are to find a top 10.
Amazing..... So much talent !!! The world despite all the negativity shows a promise for a better future through all these young awesome guitar players!!!
Jared, hear me out: Christmas Shred Log video. Christmas yule log style video, with the fire place and Christmas decorations, etc. In place of the burning logs in the fireplace put the full compilation of submissions for the contest.
All great players but many of them sound nearly identical to each other. Rodri Del Solar and the "no name entry" stood out to me with a more unique style. Cool video
Noah Crenshaw...dude. That was phenomenal. Such a tasteful mix of techniques. Additionally, that is the nicest looking Schecter I have ever seen. Onyx Morales. You are a machine!
Rodri Del Solar… I wanna write a song with this guy. I appreciated his style more than anyone else’s. Like, it wasn’t just about shredding, it was groovy and tasteful. 2:55
Just Wow! Thanks to all of you for just leaving a bunch of smoking craters!! What a cool concept, well put together. Jared rules! I am so humbled by all your amazing awesomeness!!! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
If you told me this was multiple takes by the same guitarist, I would believe you. Incredible technical chops, almost no heart. It numbs the musical mind. Stel Andre was one of the notable exceptions. The solo was thematic with tasteful speed.
@@YourFriendToodles Hi! The headless guitar you used in the video - I'm considering buying one, did it ship in playing well with the ability to get to low action? Like with a basic setup (no major fret filing needed, etc?)
Rodri Del Solar's part was the real stand out for me. Wonderful melodic choices with just enough shred to make it tasty. This might be my favorite out of all the videos so far.
Yes I agree. His solo was my favourite along with Luke Noah and Syndrone. I don’t mean to be that self promoter guy but when Jared eventually features my solo I think you’ll like it as well since it’s melodically sensible as well as with enough shred to make it tasty.

ok well this is to hard I cant choose so my top picks are Syndrone Luke Jeansonne, Noah Crenshaw, since the first three of theses pick have been in it this year I am still hoping they make it but for my pick that has not been in a shred collab yet would be AliceiMusic she is absolutely amazing and very much deserves to be in it as well others that I have picked
Dear Jared =) there are many guitarists that are sick good, BUT it is one thing to shred 100000000 tones and think they are on top, but to often the heart is missing, breath and feel simply is not there, You Jared has the things, both heart , feel and techicallity,...much love from Sweden to you dear Jared =)
Alice! Tone: Mark Gibson Also just gotta say the shredometer has overloaded exploded and reformed in an incomprehensible dimension. All these people are ridiculous. I’m judging on the amount of feels that folks are evoking in me at this point because the technical skill is fucking off the charts with these entries.
00:00 Thank you so much for featuring me in the video, Jared! And on the thumbnail! Such an honor to be included amongst so many shredtastic players!
great job! I vote for you
You're awesome Alice! You should upload more. Been following you since you played Jason Becker.
You earned the opener in this vid, very sick shit... for a girl.
I joke :P was an epic shred and I will never compare. xD
